    I am really looking forward to the moment when Severus realizes how cruel Vernon and Dudley are to Harry. However mixed his own feelings are at the moment, I feel sure that he will enraged to discover that they are abusing his son.

    And I actually do have to wonder how mixed his feelings truly are. I think perhaps once he's adjusted to the shock that he will be overjoyed to have a child, a part of himself and of Lily.

    Poor Harry. I was so sorry for him, and I loved how he is concerned and protective of his father too.

    I am also very upset with Petunia. I don't know if she goes along with the abuse because she is afraid of Vernon or what, but there is still no excuse, imho, for an adult to accept and participate in the abuse of a child. I hope she gets a comeuppance too.

    Another wonderful chapter! This is such an awkward and confusing (apt title, btw) time for both of them, and you handled it perfectly. I understand both Severus' amazement and his hurt as he realized Dubmledore's betrayal, his temptation to leave and his resolution to stay.

    Harry's reaction was also perfect, shock and horror, but then deep inside, a feeling of hurt that his father wasn't pleased and didn't reach out to him.

    I hope they can soon begin to get to know one another.

    I love it, this was fun to read, hopefully snape will continue to torture the dursleys. I am glad harry has him now. Can't wait for next chapter.

    I actually fell out of my chair from laughing so hard. I loved how Snape was so perfectly british in this chapter. cruel when angered but still polite. It was perfect.

    Author's Response: Why thank you!! I felt now was the time to bring back the Severus we all know and love since he's most healed and the shock was wearing off. Glad you liked it. Thanks again for the review!!

    LOL Go stand in the corner! XD Awesome, just awesome! Looks like some things are really going to change around at Number 4 Privet Drive. Hopefully Harry will take this opportunity to get to know Severus better, and vice-versa.

    What a sad chapter...beautifully written, of course. But my heart just breaks for Severus and for Lily, and for poor little Harry who will have to grow up without the family he deserved. Darn, I usually like Dumbledore, but I'm finding it really hard in this story, lol!

    I super glad you liked this one! As I said eariler, I wrote this one in a government class when I got too bored to pay attention. lol That's usually the class I did a lot of writing in. But I was one of the top in the class. Even won an award for it too, so I think I'm justified for not paying close attention.lol

    No, but this was a chapter I was really proud of, so I'm excited everone liked it so far. Thanks again for another awesome review!!

    I'm so glad that Severus remembered, though of course it is a huge shock to both him and Harry!

    Loved the flashback of Harry's birth...so sweet and poignant and sad all at once.

    I like your version of Harry's name. It does seem appropriate. The last line...maybe they both spoke together.

    Oh, I love medieval history too, especially the Tudor era in Britain...mmm, maybe that's considered later than medieval actually. It's fascinating to read about and study, but I do thank my lucky stars that I live in the here and now!

    Glad you liked the name. I thought it would sound like a "proper" wizarding name and all that jazz. Last line I left up to everyone because I could see some people not thinking Snape would say it or something. (personally, I thought they both said it too, but thought I'd leave it up to everyone)

    Ooo! Yeah, love the Tudur period, but I thought that was a bit more Renaissance...how sad, I forget!! But I think the Crusades are fascinating, especially the Knights Templar. Their end was quite tragic.

    Anywho, thanks again for reviewing!!

    Lol - love the last line there. Snape being all evil and surly one moment and sitting down to offer tea like a proper English gentleman the next! I love this story and both Harry and Snape's reactions - especially the way you keep filling in the story of the past as well. Please update!

    Wow Snape and Vernon is what I expected, Petunia and Snape is less so - but I'm glad. Looking forward to one of Dudley's tantrums and what is Harry going to do while there all working ( because sooner or later he's going to get bored) As usual this was another great chapter.
