First Impressions by PyroChilde
Summary: They say first impressions are everything...but what happens when we are forced to re-examine those perceptions? After the complete farce of a first lesson, Harry is overcome with a fierce determination to prove that he belongs at Hogwarts. To do this, he concludes that he must excel in potions at all costs.

What does our ever-observant potions master think when he notices the son of his most hated enemy is quickly shaping up to be the most promising potions student since he himself attended Hogwarts?

Must Have:
- Eventual Harry and Draco friendship (perhaps formed through being forced to partner in potions)
- Harry becoming an apprentice of Snape’s (near the end of 1st year or even in the beginning of 2nd if the story continues that far)
- At least one occurrence of Harry helping Hermione with potions.
- Slow progression of the Harry and Snape relationship from hated student/teacher through uneasy truce during apprenticeship to eventual mentor relationship.
