I must say that I put off reading this fic for awhile. And, I'm ashamed because it's really good!! I never expected this much detail and such in depth characterization from all your characters. Really good update, too!

I do wonder if Harry is really getting better at concealing his thoughts or if Snape just realized how he needed a break from it all. I do like how Severus is changing his attitude towards Harry and even Hoppity. It seems that he's letting himself see Harry as a six year old finally instead of assuming that he's 'all there' and sixteen. I can't wait to see their relationship progress and see where they end up at the end of the summer.

I really liked how you handle Harry's being forgotten, eventhough he doesen't understand that he just hid too well. Severus' reaction to Harry's question of were you ever forgotten was great, well, not for Harry, but it was nice to see that bit of Severus' past linking him to Harry. Hopefully, there's also more of the 'bargin' between them that causes Snape to become closer to Harry as he finds out more about his home life with the Dursleys.

Again, really good chapter and I can't wait for the next update (coming soon, right?). Eventhough I don't think I'm going to enjoy it that much, a tantrum, from Harry? I realize that he's in the mind set of a six year old, but he's been so well behaved so far...oh well. I guess I'm banking on his hesitation to anger Hoppity and Snape, when it's obvious that he won't be locked in his cubbard and denied food, which were the only things that kept him from acting out before...ok. What ever you do, I'll read, so update!! I want to be able to write another review!

    Author's Response:

I'm so glad that you decided to give my story and characters a chance! :) I know that plot premises and summaries can put a reader off, but after reading so much of Harry Potter and Snape Gen fanfiction, I was sure that I would be able to make something worth reading, despite the off-putting idea of having an original female character as a main character, and for the story taking place in America.

The end of the summer will be quite a journey for Snape and Harry. Thanks for reminding me about the bargain! I've been working on this story for so long that I forget some things. :)

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I really enjoy reading your comments.

    Jan,
Sorry it took me so long to r&r this hon! And what a really powerful chapter it was too! First, I about fell over when Snape told Harry he'd done well. Harry didn't much know what to make of that either! LOL!

Poor Harry tried so very hard to make the play date go right only to have it go so very, very wrong on so many levels. It hurts to feel forgotten by ones friends, but Harry's pain goes far beyond that because he can remember a time when nobody, including those that were supposed to be taking care of him remembered him.

The parallel between Harry's painful childhood and Snape's was wonderfully done. Snape's reaction to having had so many of his own miserable childhood memories dredged up is to try to protect himself with anger and denial. He cannot allow himself to empathize with Harry without being forced to deal with his own painful past.
    Brilliant chapter hon!
    Tracy

Author's Response: Thank you so much Tracy!! I love your comments! I hope that you are able to enjoy the next chapter too.

This is just great! You're really getting the 6yrold across well. And I like the way Snape is mellowing - nothing too dramatic.

    Author's Response: Thank you! :)

You are sooo cruel. I got to ff.net this morning, and I noticed that Muffleville had been updated. I get excited because usually when you update on ff.net you update a "new" chapter here. I come here and.... no chapter :(

Great story though! I have been an avid reader since the very beginning.

Hopefully... as in begging... as in pwetty please... we will not have to wait as long for the next chapter.

The "Tantrum Scene" has me very intrigued.

Thanks again for such a great story and a great website.

Author's Response: Yeah, sorry! Usuualy I do do that, but I hadn't written anything to publish yet. Thank you so much for enjoying my story and the site! :) Thanks for your review!

We are beginning to see some change in Snape's attitude and that is nice. Those two are both so stubborn. I can't wait to see where they end up at the end of the summer.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review! They will have a long journeyt in front of them before the summer is over! I hope that you enjoy the new chapter.
