    Hello!

Yes! You finally posted up an update! I've been waiting forever!!

I really enjoyed this chapter, and I have to say I'm really looking forward to the next one...

I only found two oddities: isn't it "input" and not "output"? It's up to you if you want to change it...I don't think it matters, much. The second is...you spelled "Michael" wrong. =)

Hope that helped! Thanks for the awesome update!

    Cheers,
    ~shige

    Author's Response:

Thanks for the corrections! I fixed them. I don't use a beta and I decided to stop checking the text myself too, to try and save time. I'm forever spelling Michael wrong, I think my spellcheck has the wrong spelling saved.

Hehe, I think that sometimes Snape doesn't want Harry's input OR output!

Thanks for the review! I appreciate it.

Great chapter! I love the dialogue and interactions between the characters, but after such a long break, I would have enjoyed just a little more plot.

Author's Response: Thank you for your review Poirot! I originally had planned out a whole plot, but Snape decided to take over and have a discussion chapter instead. Apparently it needed to be done. Hopefully future chapters will be more to your liking.

Yay!!! I am so excited! Loved this chapter, but felt sorry for poor Harry, not getting to play on the bouncy toy. Those are fun! :-)

Haha, my favorite part was probably Snape carrying him to the kitchen though. Awwww.

Great job! This is one of my favorite stories! :D

    Author's Response:

Awww, thank you! :) Harry will get an opportunity to play on a bouncy toy again, but it won't be in this story I don't think. Haha maybe a one-shot with Snape? That would be cute.

Snape pretty much wrote this chapter... he called the meeting, and he decided to carry Harry into the kitchen. It worked out so great! Thank you characters!

I'm so glad that this is one of your favorite stories! Please keep reading! I hope that the chapters will come out faster now that we are at the more fun part of the story, but I know that I've been saying that for awhile. :} I'm going to try and write more than I read, maybe that will help.

Ooh, I was so pleased to see that you'd updated, and a wonderful chappie too!

I was very surprised and pleased at the nature of Snape's family meeting. I am actually shocked that he thought of laying out the rules for Harry this way, and not jumping down his throat immediately, but decided to list the rules clearly, for both Harry and Hoppity, so that there would be no surprises and Harry would know what was expected of him.

Snape is turning out to be a good guardian, and I love how the rules were all based around Harry's safety and welfare. Too cute.

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments. :) Snape surprised me as well. Not only did Snape call a family meeting, but he was decent at it too! I liked that there were rules for Harry's guardians as well. I think that was Hoppity's doing, and perhaps Harry. He seems to be getting his Gryffindor spirit back.

I'll tell you a secret that after this chapter I plan to bring the rules back in the sequel. It was just too good.

    Thanks for your review!

He is getting into a habit of picking Harry up, is he not. He really undoes all of his "good work" in the end by picking him up.

I was trying to remember if I knew how to read at 6 years old and realised that I did - I was in 2nd grade. Also remember multiplication tables that we had to learn in that grade. Hated them.

Well, coming back to the story, Harry goes to school, so he must be knowing how to read.

It's almost funny - a rule like "Noone gets locked" except those who do not belong - that does not mean Michael, only badboys. I had a neighbour who once locked up her kid in the bathroom when she got really angry with him and then the kid locked herself in from inside , didnt know how to unlock or couldnt. Her mother was frantic and informed us. We had to call Fire Brigade to come and rescue the kid while the mother sat outside the bathroom door talking to her daughter and passing cards and stuff from the little space underneath the door to ensure that the kid didnt get too scared.

Back to review again, Snape does take perverse pleasure in feeding him vegetables and ot letting him jump ( from a metre high?) I had nce jumped off from the roof - it had a roof-terrace-of my grandmother's house ( my brother and I were playing cop- thief there and he had to nab me - I jumped to avoid getting captured). No, nothing happened - no injuries at all except a little jarring of limbs. I just looked up to see my brother staring at me, shocked.
1 meter seems too low :)

Short chapter, but nice one. Love it as usual.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your comments! :) I was so happy to see that you wrote so much.

I love Snape picking Harry up. He doesn't do it very often, but it worked in the last two chapters. Maybe he will get into the habit. It's not like Harry is very heavy.

I don't believe that most 6 year olds are in second grade. Usually they are in first grade (see here). I turned 8 in second grade, and that was near the beginning of the school year. Most everyone else turned 8 by mid summer. If I had to guess, I would say that Harry is six years old, as he probably just turned six, but he could be almost seven. He is slightly small for his age, to be sure. I know that he can read simple words, but the rules list had words like "endangering," "arguing," "trespassing," and "unnecessarily" on it. I think Harry would have seen a lot of hard words on it and not bother trying too hard to read it. He can read when he has to when he really focuses. That is part of the effects of the potion, but he doesn't like to do it very much. I should rewrite that part to clarify it. Thanks. :)

One meter is about three feet (It's about 3.3 feet). I think that I planned for Harry to be about 41 inches (3 feet, 5 inches tall, at most 6"). I'm rubish at meaurements, but I looked this one up back when I wrote chapter 6. Jumping into three feet of water is probably okay, and Harry would most likely be okay after jumping off something nearly as tall as he is, but I wanted to emphasize Snape's overly protective nature. That, and it seemed weird to write "a meter and a quarter." :) I don't know, maybe Snape would say something like that. When it comes to falling, it all depends on the way you land. Someone can break a bone falling from just standing up, others don't break anything even when they fall off roofs. Three feet probably takes away any "fun" activities like trampolines, which was Snape's intention. Perhaps I should write that thought in too.

Thanks for liking Harry's rule - I thought that it was very child Harry-ish. The length was about what I was aiming for - 10-11 pages in size 12 font. I think that it's harder on readers when the chapters are so long, and it might take me longer to write longer chapters so I decided to try and cut back. I may go back and edit previous chapters and cut them in half.

Thank you for your review! It gave me a bit to think about. :)

I hope Snape starts to think about Harry's answers to some of the questions and Harry's rules that he came up with. I know Hoppity seemed to notice but really those rules of his should have made any adult suspious. (sorry my spelling is terrible). I really am enjoying your story and just wanted to let you know.

Author's Response: Thank you Phoenix1! I am sure that Snape is suspicious, he just seems to be taking his time, perhaps allowing Harry to trust him? I don't know. We will have to see what is going on in that head of his. Perhaps he doesn't want to truly know, or he's waiting until Harry is "older", I don't know. I know for sure that he will ask at least once question in the next chapter. Thank you for your comments! :)

Author's Response: Thanks for the reminder. I managed to write a couple of paragraphs this weekend, but it is still slow going. I am hoping that I will have more time to write soon! :)

It's been a long time since I've read this story. I admit I'd just about given up on it, but I decided to give it a go and see if there was anything. And there were several things! Which have unfortunately ended with a cliffhanger.

I am still thoroughly in love with this story. The characterizations are wonderful, the situations perfectly reasonable and normal considering their cover, and the writing is excellent. I just hope it won't take so long to get another chapter? Maybe?

    Author's Response:

    Thank you very much! :)

I don't think that it will take long. Severus Snape decided to throw a kink in the story line and demanded something that I hadn't thought of or prepared, and he has yet to tell me ow it goes. But maybe it will just start flowing if I start writing? I may try this weekend. ;) Thank you for your continued interest!
