Reviews For Patient Potions Master
I'm duly impressed by this so far! You've created a brilliant Snape who keeps his motivations for everything that he does close to his chest, as well as a vulnerable yet strong Harry who hates these confrontations with Snape but yet isn't afraid of them.
I must say, that Severus smiling into the fire when thinking of Lily's death was just bloody cruel. And his comment of her dying beautifully... I couldn't determine if he said that out of malice, or admiration. Only Snape (and you) knows for sure.
Great job so far. I hope to see an update from you soon.
Harry ran so fast that he pushed Ginny down? LOL that's great. Poor Ginny. But what was she doing so late outside the common room, and where did she go? I liked how irrational Harry was in this chapter, yelling at the fire. Wow this chapter has such a great ending leading up to the next. Oh man, poor Harry. Snape's so mean he makes me shiver. You should post more here, I usually post lists of all the stories that were updated in the week to the groups on Sunday nights. And I'll be asking for nominations for Featured Stories.
Ouuu, wow. You really, really managed to capture Harry's hatred for Snape and Snape's for Harry. Like this line, that I loved: "Maybe he was ill…or maybe he was dead? Harry grimly suppressed a smile as he envisioned Snape slumped over his desk, his black, greasy hair falling across his face, as the headline of the Daily Prophet read, “Death Eater found Dead at Hogwarts." Wow. You got it. I loved your characterization of Snape in this chapter, how human he was for a moment, but how he really is that cruel evil Professor. You are so in character with him! Amazing tension and bantering. Poor Harry, Snape's words are there to really wound. I still think that the Trio should go to Dumbledore though. I wonder where Snape was before? I think that there are a few things you can do to make you story better: one of them is to correct the few typos that there are. In this chapter there was a "clamed" instead of "calmed" and there were some in chapter one too. You also need to spend a little more development in Ron and Hermione and Harry's interactions together. Harry seems a little off with them.
Oh my gosh. What a terrible place to leave off. Thank God you usually update so quickly. Otherwise I would have been very, very (did I say very?) mad. What a sneak Snape is. Poor Harry will never be able to eat or drink again without wondering if Snape is up to something. So, is Snape going to make Harry own up to everything he's ever done? Snape will find out about the polyjuice potion, the trips to Hogsmeade and everything else. But, what is his true motive? He can't possibly still care about something that happened years ago, can he? Well, we are talking about Snape. He does seem to hold on to things forever. Are you listed under the same pen name at fanfiction.net? I couldn't find you there. Anyway, please don't keep us waiting too long... Author's Response: My pen name on fanfiction.net is Clare Mansfield so if you search that it should come up. Over there I am nearly finished (I posted here so more people could have an opportunity) but feel free to hop across and review me there! It's been so well recieved that I'm debating posting it on mugglenet.com...when I get my head round all those rules perhaps.... xxx |
