Great start to this and the only little problem I noticed were some spelling errors and the fact that you put Goyle's name in twice when you paired them up in class, but otherwise I liked how you had Severus show Albus how Harry was being mistreated, sometimes the old man can really be blind!

If you are reworking this, could you work to keep the tense the same throughout the story? It is very confusing moving between past and present tenses. For example:

Only one other person in the school really believed his silence to be more than his mourning, and that would be Professor Severus Snape. Though he hates Potter, he was able to see the signs of much more.

You begin in past tense "believed", move to present tense "hates", and back to past "was able to see."
