This isn't at all a big deal or anything, but didn't anyone hear the door explode or anything? I would have thought that in a school if a door blew off its hinges, someone would come running. Maybe it'll happen in the next chapter, but anyway, it's not a big deal, and I like this story.
My eyes are slighltly teary as I finish this story. Your review says it's finished, but it begs for more. Did Snape get his answer? Does he know why Harry hasn't turned out badly? After all, that was why he wanted to talk to Harry, to find out how he avoided becoming what Snape remembers he himself became. At first I thought the answer was no, he hasn't gotten his answer, but after thinking about it I've changed my mind. He has it. The Dursley's were never Harry's parents. He had parents who loved him if only for a little while, and they fueled his fantasy that he was still lovable. Snape had parents so he had no fantasy. If only reality could work like that. Anyway, this was short and powerful--it made an impression on me. What will happen next in this AU I wonder???? Thanks for sharing your work!
This is just wonderful, you have such a nice touch with the emotions in this story - spacing them out so that it isn't too much at one time, but hitting them just right. I really feel for poor Harry and Snape's confusion and determination is just palpable. Great job!
