Reviews For Reading the Signs
I've been reading for a while, and I don't review often, but this chapter made me smile after a long day, and I just wanted to say thanks to you for that. :) Author's Response: You're very welcome! And thank *you* for taking the time to leave a note :)
I can't believe Albus did that, what an eejit! Was he going to do anything about them yelling at poor Harry?! I'm so glad that Severus heard about the meeting, that was horrible. It was slightly amusing that Harry was embarrassed about the picking up thing. He is an enigma. Loving, loving, loving your story! Is there much more to go now that you've identified the attackers? And the fact that they're Ravenclaws! Crazy, I thought at least one would be Slytherin. There is seriously too much hate in that world. Anyway, hope you're well and good luck with the next chapter! Author's Response: Aww, I'm glad you liked it so much. Dumbledore wouldn't have let them keep yelling; it all just happened really fast and he was a bit taken off guard. And yes, as you say, Harry's a bit of a puzzle -- not wanting to be seen as a little kid, but then wanting to be picked up. He's pretty confused about the whole thing. Finally, I didn't want to make the attackers Slytherins because I think the Snakes get a bad rap. Plus that would be too easy.
Author's Response: I think Snape sees a little of himself in Harry, which is why he's not so bad at anticipating Harry's needs, like you say. And yeah, Dumbledore has good intentions, but doesn't always see the other side.
Author's Response: Yeah, it's definitely a wee bit out of character. But Harry isn't a teenager here. He's 11, and just halfway through his first year. I figure any OOCness can be explained away by the fact that they haven't had years of anger built up between them.
And yes, maybe even 11 is too old to be picked up in that manner, but Harry is a *small* 11. Plus, ultimately, though he doesn't realize he's doing it, he's looking for the moments he never had when he way younger.
Author's Response: Yeah, I think Snape has definitely reached a turning point with Harry, although it won't be smooth sailing the whole way. And yes, Dumbledore has good intentions, but rarely at the right time ;)
