Reviews For Never Normal
Author's Response: Thanks for taking the time to review!
I can't help but feel a teeny bit sorry for Dudley (Harder to feel anything but contempt for Petunia here). But Dudley is just a kid, too, and although I'd love to have him to myself for a few weeks, and get his bullying ways out of him, it's not really his fault that his parents are idiots who have ruined him. And he would have to be pretty scared being kidnapped like that. Looking forward to more! Author's Response: Surprisingly enough, I feel bacd for Dudley as well since his parents spoil him so much that it really wont help him later on in life. As you read on, you'll discover breifly that things will change dramatically in Dudley's living arrangements...
>>>“Let me out of here! I want my mum!” Dudley began demanding. “I’m hungry! Get me some food!” Dudley continued demanding various things from the kidnappers, who were not about to cater to his demands.>“I demand to see my son at once!!” She was in no position to demand anything but yet she demanded anyway.>“Thank you.” Harry whispered. This man may have kidnapped him, but he gave Harry an ice pack for his hand and that was something that his relatives have never done for him before. Author's Response: My beta pointed out the exact same thing so I have been working on that. Thanks for the helpful review!
Author's Response: Even kidnappers have hearts! Well some do at least. :)
a) Your kidnappers feed you and your relatives don't. b) Your kidnappers see to the injuries that were inflicted on you BY your relatives and your relatives don't. c) Your kidnappers of less than 24 hours show you more concern and compassion than your relatives have shown for you your whole life! d) All of the above! I'd say the answer is d and that it is a bit of an understatement to say that that does NOT reflect positively on the Dursleys! Great chapter hon and now, instead of going to bed, I'm going to have to read another! Tracy Author's Response: I'd agree with D and I always figured the Dursley's were harsh even in the books but JKR probably didn't want to write all the details.
I had an idea... for the begining of your chapter, you could add in some more emotion (for Harry). Like he panics or something and that's why the door unlocks. Author's Response: In my opinion, the Dursley's seem to enjoy causing him pain whether it be mental or physical just because they are horrible people. If I find time to re-write this, I will make a note to add more emotion for Harry. Thanks for the review! |
