Beautifully written. Sharp, professional prose about the characters we love so much, both Snape and Dumbledore ringing utterly true here. Lovely. I'm so happy to have stumbled over this. :) I love the relationship between these two men, Snape's edgy hostility tempered with respect and affection, Dumbledore's weighty hope and his simple request at the end. So many stories have to find complex reasons for Severus to TRY to be nice to Harry that this is inordinately refreshing. Why does he at least try to be kind -- simply because Albus asked. I'll say it again: Beautiful.
