Thank you for the reviews! And a warning, there are scenes of violence in this chapter. I thought it was appropriate for a "T" rating, but I don't know if I'm very good at rating stories, so I hope it's all right.

Also, I admit I was not entirely happy with this chapter--I hate writing violence and I'm really in a hurry to get on to the next few chapters when Severus and Harry began to interact with one another. But I guess this chapter is necessary, so here goes, and I do hope you'll enjoy it!

Thank you, all. I'd planned for Harry to wake up in this chapter, but there was so much other information I needed to get across that Harry will just have to wait til chapter 6. I think it will be woefully obvious that I'm not a science expert here, so please forgive any mistakes along that line.

Also, Fleur is difficult for me to write, and I may have her accent wrong. I just had to do the best I could with her.

Warning: There is a mention of child abuse in this chapter. It's not graphic, and happened in the past.

Harry wakes up in this chapter, and I have to admit I had a lot of fun writing it. I hope Severus isn't easing up too soon, but he has a few days to realize that Harry isn't the spoiled little prince that Severus had always assumed him to be, and Severus can justify to himself that he doesn't want Harry to become agitated and keep his wounds from healing.

As I think I said earlier, I'm definitely not an expert on all the spells in "Harry Potter" and someone pointed out that the 'Stupefy' spell wasn't the right one for when the Death Eaters captured Harry. So now I'm calling it a Body-Bind--in any case, it was a spell where he couldn't move or speak.

Sorry it's taken longer than usual to get this chapter out. This one was hard to write, for some reason. It was 'type, delete, type, delete' all the way. I'm sorry if Harry's feelings towards Severus seem a bit confusing. I'm struggling for the words to express it---he's grown very close to Severus and cares for him, but it's still hard for him to let go of the past, even though he's trying.

Yay, the site's back! I missed it! Anyway, here's chapter 19. Forgive me for making the part with Dumbledore so short, but really the lessons with him are pretty much exactly as they happened in HBP and I don't want to just copy the book. The only differences are 1) Severus is along, and 2) for this first lesson, I combined a couple of the Pensieve trips so Harry and Severus see both Bob Ogden's memories of the Gaunt family, and also Dumbledore's first meeting with young Tom Riddle when he gives him his invitation to Hogwarts.

I really meant to...it was in the outline for this chapter. But when I started writing, Harry wanted to talk about the Dursleys instead, and that conversation ended up being pretty in-depth. Here is the next chapter. Sorry it's taken a little while...I was working on my new story, "Slave Child", and from now on, I'll probably alternate between the two.

There's not much Harry and Severus interaction in this one, but there is Trio and Severus interaction. I wanted to show Severus, Ron, and Hermione beginning to establish a better relationship, too. I hope you'll enjoy it.

It was all Severus' idea and his plan to atone for his acts as a Death Eater. There's another little note for this chapter, but I don't want to give any spoilers away so it's at the end.

Oh, at the end of Chapter 30, I said this one would be about Christmas, the Weasleys and Hermione, that school would start back up and Harry and Draco would have an interesting encounter. Well...Christmas Day ended up taking a lot longer than I thought it would, so Hogwarts re-opening and Draco will be in the next chapter.

Previously...Severus recovered from the Death Eater battle, he and Harry chatted, and they both agreed they wanted to go ahead with the adoption.
