Reviews For Harry Potter and the Potions Professor
great chapter! ^^
I really liked how you set up Dumbledore's lessons, it makes sense and it's a great improvement to have Severus along. I also enjoyed their discussion afterwords over hot chocolate...And I adore Severus' adversion to sweets, he's so silly! It's also really great to see how their relationship has progressed. I gasped out loud when Harry snidely remarked, "Yes, Dad." And, of course loved the awkwardness that followed. It was played out perfectly and I adored how they handled it later in that scene, Harry and his insistent need to apologise. *scoffs* I do wonder if this is going to be a Snape adopts Harry fic, perhaps at the end of this year, yes? Especially since Severus has displayed extreme dislike towards the Dursleys...hmmm... I always love the Trio in its entirety in your story, they're just soo perfect! I want to give them all hugs for making Harry not feel so alone and singled-out. (Hug for you too, of course!) Hopefully, Harry never forgets how important his friends are to him and keeps them close at hand. Well, until next chapter! Happy Weekend! Author's Response: Thank you! I loved reading your review! I'm glad you approve of the way the lessons with Dumbledore are going--hopefully it'll sort of streamline the plot, and give me more time to write important things, like Severus and Harry, lol. I do think Severus and Harry have come a long way, and it was fun putting the 'Yes, Dad' line in there. Harry intended it as a joke, but then realized that it was sort of true--that they really are starting to act like family, more than professor and student. And then he was afraid that Severus would be uncomfortable with the idea so he quickly retreated. And I think the line kind of gave Severus a jolt, but he doesn't really mind. As for adoption, I don't know. I've planned all along for their relationship to remain 'unofficial' as far as the legal side goes, that is, not having Severus be Harry's legal guardian or adopted father. But that's mainly because they spend most of the year just getting close, and by the end of the year, Harry will almost be legally of age anyway. But they do grow very close, and Severus is very committed to Harry. Being with Harry, protecting him and guiding him will become Severus' top priority, actually, by this point it is already. So in all the ways that really count, in their hearts, Harry and Severus will become father and son, even if it's not actually a legal adoption. And Ron and Hermione are great! I've always loved them, and thought that Harry was lucky to have them at his side. Thanks again!
Dumbledore's lesson was just the right length. Sometimes, scenes (in other stories) are too close to the book and become really boring then. Here, you efficiently managed to avoid that :-) I'm looking forward to the next chapter - obviously the three are in for trouble?! Greetings :-) teddy Author's Response: Thanks so much! Yes, that's kind of what I was thinking about the Dumbledore scene. As for the trio being in for trouble? What makes you think that? *whistles innocently* |
