Reviews For Harry Potter and the Potions Professor
Author's Response: Hi teddy! Thank you! Severus still has quite a bit of warming up still to do, and it won't be much longer before Harry sees his friends, probably chapter 8, possibly chapter 9.
I can't wait for the scene where Ron and Hermione demand to talk to Harry and find out that he's distancing himself from them. It's always so touching to hear from them that they'll never leave Harry's side because they're friends and a team and marked for death by Voldermort already. So, are you planning on having Dumbldore taking Harry out horcurx-hunting or is the headmaster off on some other personal mission? (I guess you've also got to get through the rest of the summer too!) Really good story, though and I can't wait until the next chapter is up!! (Can't wait for some Snape/Harry interaction!) Author's Response: Thanks again! Harry does have a willingness to sacrifice his own desires if he thinks it would be better for others (canon Harry breaking up with Ginny so she wouldn't be in danger comes to mind), and after Sirius' death and especially after his own kidnapping, I do believe that Harry would think that the best way to protect his friends is to break things off with them. The other side of this, though, is that people have a right to decide for themselves if they're willing to be in danger, and Ron and Hermione love Harry enough that they're willing to take the risk. It's also a bit late for all that now. It's not exactly a secret who Harry's closest friends are. But I agree that the Trio's friendship is a beautiful thing, and I love them all. Oh, and Dumbledore will take Harry and Severus off to the cave for the locket horcrux at the end of the story. Hmm, I guess that was a spoiler for my own story, huh? But I did say I want to write a Deathly Hallows AU, too, where Severus is helping Harry and Co. destroy the horcruxes so maybe it's not too much of a spoiler.
Good job Severus! He was definatly awesome in this chapter and I liked that you showed him when he wasn't at his strongest, it makes him seem more prone to mistakes, which allows us to blame him for Harry's kidnapping easier. Even though it truly wasn't his fault...but I enjoyed the battle going on in Severus' head as well, when he was trying to decide who to blame. You explained his absence from being able to engage in the tourture of Harry well too, I hope Voldermort dosen't have anything in mind for Severus...but then again, it could make things interesting later on if Harry has to save him from Voldermort in order to feel even with Snape and for all he's done for him. I'm sure whatever you write will be perfect, as you already have written it...I need to catch up, so if you'll excuse me.. Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! I don't blame Severus for the kidnapping, but I thought if he feels a little bit responsible it might help him begin to see Harry in a different light. And I wanted Severus to be done with spying, so it made sense to me to have Voldemort begin to be suspicious of him, and it could be interesting if Harry later saves Severus, couldn't it? Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing! It's always great to hear from readers! And I will explain more about the mental connection later! As for Harry and Dumbledore, they may talk more about the Dursleys later, as well.
Author's Response: Thank you! Glad you liked Snape! It's so hard to be patient because there are several scenes with him and Harry that I'm so anxious to get to, but I have to try not to rush it. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, Harry's not too pleased about staying with Snape right now, but it's the only way I could think of to have them become closer. It's going to be hard to overcome the past if they don't spend some time getting to know one another. And don't worry about Ron and Hermione--they have no intentions of letting Harry give up on them.
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm looking forward to writing more interaction between Snape and Harry, too!
Poor Harry! That boy really has been through so much! I can't wait to see how he reacts to everything when he wakes up - at least he's surrounded by friends and family who care about him! (Snape - soon you're gonna be one of those "wrapped around his finger" too!) Your Snape's POV is also very well-written, and McGonagall was delightful to read in this chapter, too! Keep up the great work, and please update soon - I can't wait to read the next part!!! Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm glad you like the characterizations. We won't see too much more of Fleur, but her potions skills will come in handy in the future, too. And I know, poor Harry, but he's been through the worst now so things will get better for him. And Snape would have a fit if he heard you say that--I wonder how he did at Divination...
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm working on it! Hopefully, chapter 6 will be done within a week.
Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I'm so happy you like it! I'm working on chapter 6, but I'm pretty busy during the week so I may not get it finished until the weekend. |
