So, I've been completely awful and haven't reviewed you in awhile! I'm sorry about that, because I'm really enjoying your story and love when I see updates in the recent box!

I didn't realise that you were going to follow Order of the Pheonix to some extent, at least with the Draco killing Dumbledore thing. That makes me slightly nervous, because we all know the role Severus eventually plays in that plan, don't we? And then Remus leaving to go somewhere mysterious?! Oh well, as you said, it can't be sunshine all the time.

I love all the miscommunication that goes on between Severus and Harry, and particularly in what should be a very simple conversation. They're constantly misreading eachother, which would be quite funny if it wasn't so sad also. I don't think that Harry's the only one who needs to let go of some preconceptions. They're getting there though, the conversation in the previous chapter was good progress. I loved that bit about Severus not rejecting him, I wonder when Harry's going to let that comment fall into place.

So is Remus going to the werewolves? That was my first thought. And this potion thing is crazy! I can't believe that they would have figured some sort of cure out like that, it's awesome. So is he heading of to show the other werewolves that they can remain human during the full moon, thus bringing them to Dumbledore's side perhaps? And are we going to see Tonks again? She was fun last time. And Harry and Ginny, getting serious eh?

Another thing I'm wondering about is how Severus is so confident that Voldemort will not kill him. Seems a little bit off to me, can't peg a Dark Lord down really.

Harry seems to be thinking of Severus as his father in his thoughts, so the step to perhaps calling him Dad in person may not be far off then? That could prove interesting.

Anyway, I have to run but thanks for another fantastic chapter, can't wait for another! Take care!

    Author's Response:

That's all right...as long as you're still reading!  LOL

Don't get nervous now...We're not going canon here.  At least not that far.  Severus isn't going anywhere!  What would be the point of that?  :o)

Read my comment a few reviewers ago for some more insight into how Harry's feeling, but yeah you're right...these two are misreading each other a lot, but they are doing better.  Don't worry...they'll get there.  p

You'll have to wait and see about Remus and yep, more Tonks for sure and yeah, Harry and Ginny are getting pretty serious, aren't they.  Hmmmm......   :oP

I don't think Severus is sure the Dark Lord won't kill him.  He said that more to reassure Harry but he was also amused at how hysterical Harry was.  How his mind jumped from Remus' possible dangerous mission, right to Sev's death.  Harry was sort of all of the place there for a bit.

Yep, as I've promised one of my readers...fumbling around for what to call dear old dad, is up next.

Oh no. What is Harry getting into now? I liked the chapter with the conflicting feelings, intrigues, and almost sort of rather close to bonding sort of thing going on. Good job!

    Author's Response:

LOL  "almost sort of rather close sort of bonding thing"!  I just had to rewrite it.  That's great!  LOL  Harry's feeling a little too unsure yet to get any closer.  Check out the response to the previous reviewer (pkrosche) for a full explanation!

Harry really is in for it now, that's for sure.  I just finished the first 3 pages and wow, is it a doozy!  Harry won't know what hit him.  LOL

    Thanks for the review!

*squee!!* *Attempts to stem yet another bout of the giddies* In case you're wondering, National Treasure was really good, if you're into that sort of thing and enjoyed the last one!

Ok, to finish the review! But first, thanks for all your awesome author notes, I've been meaning to actually write you a message but, time flies when one is having fun...and that's what Winter Break is all about, right? But, most of my fun is extracted from this site and I do enjoy reading your reactions to my excessive obsessiveness over your story and HP in general. So, thank you.

    Really, now...

Perhaps I'm just reading into this too much, but did Snape plan for Harry to overhear the entire 'conversation' between himself and Draco? With Sev's declaration of "it can't be time already" and "we need to return to the classroom for a short time." It just seems to me that it's quite a coinsidence too that Harry could hear everyting that transpired between Snape and Draco...thus gaining him more questions. Perhaps then Sev was going to reveal a bit of what was going on, as to not leave Harry completely in the dark...hmmmm...I don't know, all that National Treasure has placed conspiracies into my head...

But, I must say again, I loved how Harry and Severus interacted while brewing, and it was great for 'Ol Sev to be thrown a curveball by Harry every once and a while. I'm kinda dissapointed that Harry never got around to fumbling for a title respectable of his Father other than "sir" but I suppose it should wait for a more appropriate time.

And about Harry leaving whilst Severus was distracted...there's going to be hell to pay, and for that, I feel kinda sorry for Harry. However, I'm pretty certain that once Severus gets to hear the full story of WHY he left that he'll be able to forgive him easily enough...unless Harry gets captured! (Albeit unlikely, I suppose, it would be great! Ok, maybe not, there's enough agnst here!) But I seriously hope that Harry gets some answers from Remus before Snape rushes in and drags Harry back to the Dungeons by his ear. And hopefully, Remus is able and willing to explain and not already gone. What time did Harry go down to the Dungeons for detention? I can't quite remember...hmmm...

A couple more things that I've noticed as I was paroosing here...What's up with Harry, why is he so afraid of Snape? I guess I just don't understand his reaction to Snape moving forward to comfort him after his declaration of “Is Dumbledore trying to kill everybody I care about?” and steps away to keep the distance between them...Also, I was surprised for Severus to come to the conclusion that Harry does better with more information than less, but in a different way than I expected, one that's never been taken before that I've read, and I like it!! That, yes Sirius' death could have been prevented and that it was unnecessary...I also don't know if it's relevent or not, but I was also confused by this "Severus, in those next minutes, was extremely glad he had erected his shields when Harry had shown the first signs that morning of doing exactly what Albus and Lupin had assured Severus he would." Is he just talking about Occlumency, that Dumbledore and Remus warned him that Harry would likely to lash out and be difficult, thus engaging Severus' temper (or trying to) and that Sev would need to be able to keep it under control if they wanted to progress anymore? Because I am going to have to agree with you, Severus is trying harder than Harry is and although I'm not sure how I feel about that, it's intersting. I guess I just always imagined Harry as needing that kind of connection to someone else in his life. Perhaps I don't know this Harry as well as I thought I did. Well...even if my last few comments don't say it, I thouroughly enjoyed this chapter and CAN'T WAIT for the next!!

Happy Saturday Night and Good Luck with the next chapter!! Thanks again, too!

    Author's Response:

Well, YAY!  You certainly did notice a lot and here's the explanation...

Remember when Harry was watching the other kids leave the castle to go to Hogsmeade and Remus and Sev came down the spinning steps from Dumbeledore's office?  Well, they were both having a conversation with Albus, and you'll find out next chapter what some of that was about, but one of the parts that I just don't add specifically (because I like to let my readers do lots of speculating, like you are...lol) is that some of what came up is that Remus and Albus both warned Severus that Harry was likely to do some testing of their newly forged relatioship, specifically for Harry to find out for sure that no matter what, Severus is not going to reject him again...that's why Severus bluntly tells Harry that he won't reject him.  So, Sev was prepared for Harry to be insolent and angry, pushing him away as Harry struggles with trying to figure out if Sev really does want him.  And, Severus is doing his best not to let Harry's actions bother him to show Harry that he does indeed want him.  And, you know your Harry here perfectly well.  He desperately wants that connection with his father here, but he is really just scared.  Does that make sense? I was a dual major in college and one of those was Pscyh and my hubby is in med school to be a psychiatrist so have to put some phych theory in there.  LOL

And don't worry...Hogsmeade Saturday is not over yet and you'll get your fumbling Harry before the day's over.  LOL

About Sev meaning for Harry to overhear...well, you'll just have to wait to find out.  LOL  Sorry!  And, you are right...Sev is not likely to be pleased with Harry's disapearance.  Oh, the angst that will ensue!

Oh, and that's what I like about this Sev here.  I really think though is is the same, he is very different from the canon snape.  He is capable of rational thinking and just the fact that he was once deeply loved, well I think that changes you.  He's just finding that part of himself again.  So, yep, he can realize that Harry needs to know things to do better with everything that's coming.  Severus really is getting to know his son, isn't he?

Hey, email me if you have anymore comments if you want (my email should work now as I got a new address for this site).  Or if you want to argue my psych angle!  I for one, am a fan of any of my reader's obsessions as it's pretty clear I am pretty guilty of that myself.  LOL  Thanks for your awesome comments.

Oh and loved the first National Treasure!

    I am breathless...

This is an amazing chapter. I really feel for Harry, because you put us in his mind for that last scene, keeping that all-too-important information from him and us. What is going on?! Hopefully you haven't added any crazy plot twists and are going cannon here...hmmm. *thinks of possibilities* I'm not coming up with anything good, but you on the other hand...

Ok, to the real story. I was extremely giddy (and still am and will be for at least a few hours) when I read the opening scenes in the Gryffindor Common Room. Oh, to be a teenager in love. *sigh* I adored all the awkward giggles and blushing that aspired and was extremely excited to read that Neville's got a date!! Go Neville! I just love all that awkwardness...ok, next part!

Harry's adverse reaction to Detention with Snape was completely believable. And poor Harry at that, but overall, I think it went ok. I especially liked it when Remus walked him down, whether that was due to the amount of danger Harry's in, or if Remus was going to tell Harry that he was leaving, or just to reassure him that it would be ok...all before Snape slammed the door on his poor unsuspecting face! Ouch!

The entire brewing scene was pretty much adorable. I just loved how in character they still were and it made perfect sense, everything that happened. I'm glad that Snape and Harry's relationship has developed, but they certainly arn't all the way there yet.

Alas, I ran out of time! I should really not read fanfiction before I have to go anywhere, even if I 'think' I've got enough time to read and review...because I never do! So, rest asured that I will finish my review after I go see National Treasure 2... But I'll be thinking about what I'm going to say here for most of it, I bet! Good luck with the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Hmmmm....crazy plots?  Well, not crazy, anyway.  Don't worry.  We're not too far left here.  I love JKR's books and that's all I'll say.  :oP

I'm glad you liked the teenage awkwardness, well except for Ginny who seems the only one unaffected.  But, that's just Ginny for you.  Love that girl!   And, of course, we had to give Neville a date. After all, the boy did go and defend against Death Eaters last term.  The boy's a hero!  LOL

I loved Remus getting the door slammed in his face.  You knew that was bound to happen one of these times!  LOL   And, Harry really doesn't know what he's feeling right now.  He's pretty confused and happy and sad and just plain all over the place, emotionally.  Bad time for Remus to leave the castle, isn't it?

Well, I think if it was up to Severus, they'd be much closer to being 'there' than they are, but Harry is being too stubborn.  But, can you really blame the boy?  How can we expect him to trust Snape so easily?  Nope.  Not gonna happen.  LOL  I'm glad you liked it though.

Have fun with your movie and please do review some more.  I can't get enough.  LOL  You'd think I'd have had enough with the typing, but not at all.  I am obsessed, remember? Thanks for the review!

    Well now....that was certainly interesting!

It took me forever to read this chapter because just as I sat down to read it and savor it my hubby calls me that he's ready for my help cleaning the garage. Doh! So I kept sneaking in the house and reading parts under the excuse of "I should find a place for this item you've just handed inside..." - am I shameless or what?

Loved the exchange between Severus and Harry about the new wolfsbane potion formula...probably the first time ever Harry was interested in brewing all because of his love of Remus. (And I felt so sorry for Remus getting the door slammed in his face).

And I can't really blame Harry at all for feeling panicky at Remus leaving the castle...he's just lost too many people he has cared for deeply. I think Harry is right...people keep too many secrets from him.

Draco just makes me grit my teeth. I didn't mind Harry disarming him at all (go Harry!) I thought on my first read through that Harry is the intended murder target but now I'm not so sure anymore. Hmmmm....

Severus is going to be SO furious when he finds Harry gone from his office...but frankly I was secretly urging him to go to see Remus too! Too much bad history has passed for Harry to have much (any?) trust in Severus yet, not like he has for Remus.

And thank you once again for your kind words about my art. It was truly a labor of love for your story!

    Author's Response:

LOL  That's really funny about your sneaking inside to read the story.  :oP

Glad you liked the wolfsbane scene.  And yep, that certainly did give Harry a reason to care about Potions...quite a slap to Severus, that.  LOL  Oh, and yeah, loved the door slamming.  Poor Remus, but you had to see that coming!

And yep, there have been way to many secrets but don't worry...that's gonna get addressed soon enough.  I think Harry has just about reached his limit here!

Draco is git, isn't he?  Love him though so really I just can't resist including him in this story.  So, does that mean you read it twice, if you'v maybe changed your mind about who's not (or maybe will) going to be murdered?  LOL  Can't give you any more clues, even if you do do some lovely artwork!

And yep, Severus is going to furious as soon as he doesn't find Harry where he left him.  Not to mention, panicked and a gambit over other emotions.  Poor Severus and poor Harry once Sev gets ahold of him.  But, you're right...Harry had to go find Lupin.  What else could we possibl expect from our boy?  I think though that Harry can't help but trust Severus, at least a little, as he has been in Sev's mind and that scene by Whomping Willow would have been impossible had Sev not cared about Harry immensely and though Harry realized that, it still is hard to let it all go.  Sigh.

Your artwork deserves those kind words.  You are awesome.  Oh, did I tell you...I put in my avatar thingy on FF.net too.  So, it's all over the place.  LOL

Wow, OE, this chapter is amazing! I think the story has been building up to these moments for a while, and you delivered them perfectly. I ran through a whole gamut of emotions here.

First of all, I'm so happy that Severus and Harry have finally made a real break-through. They've shared intimate memories (voluntarily), cried and held one another, and admitted that they care about their relationship. I had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face while reading these parts.

On the other hand, I can't help feeling sad, too,...for all the needless pain they've both suffered, and for all the time they've lost. I completely understand Harry still feeling hurt about the past. Severus has been pretty cruel, and nowwing that his own father could let his feelings be so warped...well, Harry's being very mature and understanding, but it would still have to hurt.

I have such mixed feelings for Severus myself, (isn't it obvious?). I really do understand how hurt and betrayed he felt, and I'm so sorry for all his pain. But it still bothers me that he could let his feelings for an innocent baby change so much, that he could later treat young Harry with such contempt. If I were Harry, I'd still need a lot of time to try to come to terms with it. I believe Harry will...and should...forgive Severus, maybe he already has by this point. But it's hard to believe that he doesn't feel hurt and confused by it all, and that he would still be affected by Severus' past treatment. Maybe even wonder if Severus' feelings could change again. I personally think Severus is Harry's for good now, but I could see it being something Harry might fret over and need reassurances about.

I'm also glad about Harry's appearance staying the same. I agree with what you and others have said...sometimes it works, but I really do like picturing Harry as, well, 'Harry'.

Ginny and Remus were wonderful, here, too. I can sympathize with Remus--it must not be easy letting go of Harry, even if it's just to a certain extent. I'm curious to see how the Remus...Severus...Harry relationship works out.

    Looking forward to more!

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  I'm so excited that you enjoyed the chapter so much.  I'm glad to that I tapped your emotions.  I love to hear that.

They have had a real break through here and yet I have to agree with you of course.  Things can't really have been settled...at least not for Harry, not completely.  And even Severus can't feel perfectly at ease about their relationship.  After all, he knows he's been a bastard to Harry for years and he's already admitted that he doesn't expect Harry to just forgive and forget.  I think Sev's depth of feeling here are much stronger than Harry's...at least for awhile.

Harry is still very hurt and still even probably confused.  I think he does understand, but that won't stop the fear he has that if Severus could toss him away once, he could very well do it again.  And no, Harry has not forgiven Severus, not really.  I think he has such a need to have someone care about him that he really is willing to let more things slide than he should, but there are too many emotions still boiling at the surface for Harry to be ready to just move on.  I don't know how much Severus will realize that though so it should be interesting.  :o)

"Severus is Harry's for good now..."  I just love that line.  And you're right, but Harry won't be able to believe that right now.  Not even after their breakthrough.  It's all very tangled, isn't it?  But I love it that way!  LOL

I'm glad you're satisfied with Harry's appearance.  I love when he just stays the same.  It's weird to picture him looking differently.

Ginny and Remus are awesome, aren't they?  And yes, I really feel for our poor werewolf too.  It's hard to let Harry go like that.  But don't worry...Harry's not gonn let Remus get too far away.   I don't think that will ever change.

    Thanks for the review!
