My gosh. What an ending! Snape's and Harry's pov were great. It is going to be a hard wait until the next chapter is up.

    Author's Response:

    Thank you!

I promise to post the next chapter as soon as possibile. As for the different POVs... well I really think that I cannot establish a relationship between our beloved characters without knowing what they think and I am sure that they see things very differently!

Oh, I like this one, I like this one. And you are writing - you wouldn't leave us suspense that that.

A trip to the Dursley's house seem in order for an angry potion's master.

    Author's Response:

Yes, a trip to Surrey definitely is in order, but I will write about it after the current issue is solved ^_^

And I promise to post the new chapter asap!

Okay, you have to hurry up and post the next chapter right away! Because I just can't stand not knowing what will happen next!

I can just hardly bear for Harry to be in so much pain. It doesn't sound as if it's getting better, either. His visions and the aftereffects sound excriciating enough, and then after suffering all the abuse at the Dursleys' hands, I don't know how the poor kid has kept from going insane.

I wanted to shake Sev too, for being so heartless. But he did seem upset about the effects of that horrible potion so maybe there's hope.

I love that Ron and Hermione stayed, too. They are really loyal friends, and Harry needs them. I hope he'll get over trying to distance himself from them soon.

Now I can't wait to see what's going to happen next! Hopefully, Severus will begin to see how wrong he's been.

    Author's Response:

Ok, ok! I am writing! I promise :)

    I already wrote 1200 words ^_^

I want to make Harry get better, but I really cannot make him happy and sound overnight, but I'll find a way. And Severus will have his job cut for him, willing or unwilling. The two of them just need to see things from a different point of view. It won't be easy, but I will try (they are so stubborn!).

This is very well-written, but at the same time, it's hard to read because I can feel Harry's intense pain, both emotional and physical.

I'm glad at least that that horrible summer is over, and I'm hoping that things will begin to get better for Harry.

I really liked how you wrote about the gulf between Harry and his friends, how even though they all love one another dearly, he thinks that they could never understand what he's going through, grieving for Sirius and suffering the abuse of his family. Part of this may be correct, but it can also be a characteristic of grief, and perhaps of abuse, too, to think that you're alone, and no one else could understand or has been through the same things. Anyway, I thought that was very realistic.

And Remus' grief is also very real and hard to read about. The part about how Remus' pain being on the surface and Harry's pain being buried is so touching. I especially liked the line:

"they were just two faces of the same coin and neither was ready to share their pain." That's very well-written.

And now I'm curious to see Snape's reaction to the letter. It was very mature, and brave, of Harry to send it. I hope Snape can respond in kind.

    Author's Response:

Thanks for your review and thank you for the deep understanding of my story. You hit the nail right on the head with your response and it's really great for me.

My own experience is - luckily - the one of a happy childhood, but there was bad moments as well and when you are deep in the hole, it's difficult to share your feelings with people who never felt like you do. Harry's friends love him so much, but they cannot really understand what he feels after Sirius' death and all the rest. Remus certainly understands pain, but at the same time he is too focused on his own loss, not just Sirius, but all the friends he lost, and he is not strong enough, or maybe not detached enough to be a parental figure for Harry, even though he loves him deeply. Harry needs someone who is able to focus on him alone, I think ^_^

And Severus' reaction... well now that the new chapter is out... I think it was predictable, in a way, but there's more to come!

I am also happy that you find the story is well written ^_^. It is difficult to convey one's feelings in a foreign language, sometimes I struggle so much that I'm afraid I almost writing nonsense, but I am absolutely sure I would not be able to write fanfiction in Italian.

I could have sworn I'd left reviews for this story, but apparently I'm wrong. Oh well, here goes...

I felt so sorry for Harry. It's hard enough, all but unbearable trying to cope with the loss of a loved one in the first weeks and months after it happens. But besides his grief, he also has to deal with the abuse and hatred of his 'family' , the very people who should care. It's really very hard to think about. And Dumbledore should have known better!

    Author's Response:

    Thank for your review ^_^

I am soo happy you like the story and I'm really honored, because I love yours so much.

In this story I actually wanted to try and see things from a different perspective, because Harry has always been left to his own devices (even though in canon he certainly was not abused as much as in my story, but I do think it was abuse nevertheless) and even though he managed to grow into a lovely boy, it does not mean that he did not suffer from it.

And Dumbledore... I am sure he really loves Harry, but loving someone does not mean that you'll let him be treated like that. Ok, he did need the blood protection, but still... blood protections cannot defend dead people, isn't it?

And now I'd better get writing once more :) English is not my first language, so it takes a while before I can write things well enough, and tonight I am not feeling "Englishy" at all, which means I'll probably have to rewrite half the chapter  tomorrow night :)

I hate it when I seem to be writing everything BUT English!

    Thanks again for your review!

Oh I really like it! The letter to Snape is the best. I wonder what he does with unwanted mail?

    Author's Response:

Well... I don't think Snape likes "spam" :)

Next chapter is actually done and just being beta-ed, so I hope you'll be able to see his reactions soon!

    Thanks for reading!

There are lots of traditional elements here, but of course they're traditional because readers here love those kind of stories. I appreciated not getting lots of gruesome details of Dursley torture and Harry's letter should garner some kind of reaction. I'm glad he sent it before school starts. I'm looking forward to where you go with this story.

    Author's Response:

Hi! Thanks for your reviews ^_^

You are absolutely right, there are a lot of traditional elements in my story. I really like this kind of story, this is what this site is about after all :), but the truth is, that I always see glimpses of elements I like in other fanfictions, but never together (or rarely) or just not in the way I hoped them to be, so I decided that - difficult as it is - I'd like to try and put something together on my own. I hope it makes sense.

I don't like the gruesome details myself. I'd rather dwell on the feelings the torture brought, not how the wounds were inflicted. Maybe I'll have to detail a few wounds better later on, but it won't get further than this.

The "action" is going to start in the next chapter for good and I hope you'll still like the story.
