The story seems to be going fine. And for not having a Beta, you are doing a great job. I'm a little leary because this seems like Harry's life is going from bad to worse. I really try to avoid those type of stories. So far, Harry has been abandoned in the wizarding world like he had been in the muggle world. You don't want to know what I think about that. After all, how can they ignore Harry's abusive family if it happens right infront of their faces? Hopefully, you are a creative writer and will have some surprises in store for us.

I really want to try not to be clichéed, but it's hard :p I will try to keep it somewhat realistic at least.

Nope, most people were eating breakfast, and it was just bad luck, really, that they ended up in the same hallway.
I've been wanting to see more fics where Dudley gets a letter from Hogwarts. More please...
Plus, writing this will no doubt help you with your English! Another reason to write more.

I really like the interaction with Dudley, and your reasoning behind Harry bonding with Ron works well - I'd completely forgotten that he had hand me down robes as well.

I'm really impressed by your story! Can't wait for the next chapter. Poor Harry, it seems his first year is going to be worse than ever... But I hope Snape is going to notice Harry's clothes and how much worse they are than his cousin's and maybe think on that a little. But who knows, Snape does tend to be a little blind when it comes to Harry.
