Hedwig’s approval is an honor, indeed. Heading over to Madam Malkin’s now…

"He methodically sorted them into three piles: Innocuous, Age Inappropriate, and Never in Hell."

    I lol'd. Best line ever

I have not read this before, or at least not more than the first chapter or two. I'm not sure why I didn't read more earlier. It's really very good. I love the way you put it after POA. Of course, you had to kill off Sirius, but still it makes for a good set up to the story.

I'm curious about Snape's comment that he left Voldemort after the Potter's deaths. We know that he actually began to spy for Dumbledore well before their deaths, probably the late autumn or early winter (bare trees and dead leaves swirly all about when he first went to Dumbledore). So is this aspect of the story AU, or is Snape just telling Harry the story a bit differently because he doesn't want to fill him in on the complete facts?

I know the word "supine" is not as commonly used at it should be, but THAT is the word which means "lying on one's back".
The word "prone" refers to lying on one's stomach, like someone shooting a rifle (that's how I remember the difference).

I like Hedwig's assessment of Severus. Are you ever planning on depicting more openly what Tobias' drawings were, or are you deliberately going to keep it vague?

Author's Response: I plan on expanding the 'Tobias-Elaine' storyline, but I want to keep details of certain things vague, primarily because the story has some disturbing themes and this is an open archive-- I wouldn't want to unduly disturb someone who wasn't clear on what s/he'd signed up for.

I like this story but I have a question, what was it that Snape saw in his fathers drawings that disgusted him, what was it he thought his father wanted to see?

    Author's Response:

I intend on addressing this more fully in later chapters--expect it to hopefully explain a lot about some of Snape's pathology.

Wonderful story! You have described how each of them is struggling to find their spot in this relationship. It is refreshing to watch both characters grow. Keep up the good work
