Very nice chapter. I liked how the Professor asked if Harry understood what in loco parentis and Paterfamilias meant rather than making the assumption that Harry would know the terms. I also liked it that Snape was straightforward with what the rules and consequences of breaking them were. Very nicely written and you didn't go overboard on hte angst, which I really appreciate.

Great chapter,I love angsty stories as long as there is some houmor and it all ends okay.(A nice quiet summer of broom rides and reading?Hmm I think Harry is in for anither surprise)
good chapter, cant wait to see how long harry can follow the rules for i cant imagine it will be long!
I'm excited for the rest of this! And for Snape's reaction when he finds out more about the Dursleys.
i havn't a uncle albvus but if i did, i would leave a review, this chapter was great, snapes certainly trying with harry

"...wishing for a bare second he was a drinking man." LOL That was wonderful. I liked the description of the tickle in Snape's chest that was signaling him that he should be nicer. Well done, slowly taking us to a place in which Snape might care. I really enjoyed the chapter, so thanks much.

Severus may have to turn to drink to handle Harry (just kidding - really).
Ron needs to learn that if someone has to do work, then leave them alone. And Harry needs to set a time to do work and then do fun things.
nothing wrong with some character development! it makes for an important part of the story, i thought it was a good chapter :)
