Poor Harry he always tries to please his friends in this case Hermione, but the girl has to learn, she has to be able to handle competition, she will have a hard life later on if she can’t handle the fact that there are others who may be better than her in certain areas. I know someone like her and the first time she “failed” (got something less than an A) she had to get psychiatric help as she almost went crazy. If Harry continues like this he may actually become stressed out and collapse and as a true friend she should realise the pressure she is putting on him just to make her feel better. Maybe it may be good if someone like Sev or McGonagall talk to the girl.
Author's Response: I knew somebody like that too... she always got A's and then one time she got a B and freaked out. I thought it was important to show that Hermione has some weaknesses.
