I ignored your warning to not read this last chapter until I read Growing Pains, but I have to say it makes me want to read Growing Pains badly now, lol.

This story is verrry cute! I absolutely adore these storylines and I know I will be pleased with more of your works!

Author's Response: Aww how sweet! GP is a very funny story, a bit more lighthearted than NA or WSG, though it does have its dark moments too.  There is also Harry Potter Dogsitter, another amusing little story which is a cross between HP and Marley and Me, since I love dogs.  And then there's the small Mother's Day one-shot and Severus's Christmas Wish too. Thanks for reviewing!

You're making another story in the Never Again Series? Yey that would be awesome. Keep up the good work with your stories and I hope you make the future story ASAP. :) Well after you're done with Shadows that is. :)

Author's Response: I am, I have a really great idea for one and will probably start scribbling notes for it soon!  Once Shadows is done that is.

This story was funny and eventful :)

I remember the reference of this little episode of Harry's in one of your other stories, but there were some surprises! Those kids Harry was hanging out with sounded like naughtily little brats, I bet they won’t try something like that again though.

Poor Sirius, I can totally relate with him on his fear of needles! *shudders* I'm glad Harry could help him to calm down, but it sure was funny :D

Little Eileen is so cute! ^_^ The interaction between her and Harry is precious! I'm glad you threw that part in there for the ending and look forward to reading more of her in your future stories.

Another great story, I'll be reading and reviewing 'Harry Potter and the Monster under the bed' soon as I can!

Author's Response: Yes, it was in Never Again when that incident was mentioned, I decided to expand upon it here. Those kids certainly were brats and poor Harry got led down the garden path by them. I don't think they'll be trying anything like that either, not after their parents get through with them. rnrnMy sister and a Marine sergeant friend of hers have the same fear of needles Sirius does, that's who his reaction is based on.rnrnEileen will be featured a lot more in the sequel to Growing Pains and I might give her a small one-shot of her own along with her brother and Severus when she's about a year old as well. rnrnI'm glad you liked these two stories.

Interesting story. Your imagination is wonderful. I liked Harry in this; I usually have enjoyed all your Harry characterizations. I don't agree with Harry joking around about the spanking and especially not actually having spanked her once. That is a bit odd to me for siblings to do.

I'm still not quite so sure about scared of needles, Sirius but I can appreciate that you've chosen characterizations for your characters and stuck to them, even if I don't agree with them.

Thanks for sharing. There's a couple spots in here that need a once over for mistakes. But of course, I know your utput is very speedy so that's to be expected. Thanks for sharing.

    Author's Response:

That joke is sort of an inside one between me and my very older siblings, some of whom could have been my mother, my eldest is 17 years older than me and practically raised me when I was little, since my mom was too sick to do so and dad was working.  So I don't find it strange to have an elder sibling discpline a younger one on occasion.  The rule in my house when my sisters or brother babysat was that they were in charge and you were to respect their authority like you would a parent's and if not they were allowed to punish you like a parent would.  Nine times out of ten, they didn't need to exercise that authority, but it was understood that if circumstances warrented . . .As for Sirius, some of his personality is based upon a real life soldier friend of mine, who served in Iraq and who could scare the spit from you with a look, never mind a gun, but who is absolutely petrified of needles, ever since he was a little kid and had a terrible experince with them.  This is a guy who was shot at, and lived for months in a hellhole, but who cannot for the life of him see a hypodermic without shaking like a leaf and who needed tranquillizers before getting immunizations before being sent overseas.  You never know to look at him, but there you are.

Yes, I need to proofread this again, I haven't been able to do that as much as I'd like due to RL.  Thanks for the review!

where did harrys little sister come from? she appeared out of nowhere? who is her mum? i am very confused

Author's Response: Did you read to the end of Growing Pains? If you did, you'll know that Alaina marries Severus & they have a little girl, Eileen Lily, who is a baby at the end of GP, but is five at the end of this fic. She's Harry's little sister, Severus' only true blood child in this story, since both Harry and Lexy (Alaina's daughter) are adopted.

I loved it. It was sooooooo cute. Little Eileen was adorable and reminded me of little Harry. Great job on the story.

Author's Response: Yup, she's another whom trouble trails like a shadow, LOL!

Harry's 14-year-old characterization was a little odd to me--threatening to spank his sister. I would hope that Severus doesn't allow that to happen, as it's really not his place to discipline his sister, when at 14, he probably still needs it occasionally himself (not spanking, just grounding, maybe).

The dialogue is a little cliched, although there are instances when Harry's comments to his sister are humorous.

As a whole, this story seems to be themed around spanking, and while I don't disagree with that type of punishment when used sparingly, most brothers and sisters don't talk about it so casually. It's embarassing and private. I doubt Harry would be so eager in speaking of his "sore bum" (or even remember the incident clearly?)

If you do decide to continue in this AU timespan, you might want to work on making the kids' actions and dialogue more believable. Write about the everyday stuff and make us connect with Harry.

    Author's Response:

It wasn't really a threat, it was joke.  He was kidding around with her, though she thought he wasn't at first.  He wouldn't really discipline her since that is his parent's job, mostly. And of course Sev wouldn't allow it. But he is 9 years older than her, like my brother was with me and my brother often joked around with me, saying if I misbehaved when he babysat me, he was going to spank me, but like Harry, it never went any further.

Actually, the main theme of this story is doing something forbidden and getting in trouble for it, which was why Harry used it as cautionary tale for his little sister, who has the same impulsive tendencies he does.  If you'll note, both Sev and Harry stress the fact that it's not usual for Severus to discipline with spanking, which is why Harry still remembers the incident and the punishment all those years later.

As for the discussion of punishments and so forth, my sisters & brother all of whom are much older than me, were quite candid about talking about all the dumb stuff and naughty things they did as kids when they were such and such an age and how they were punished for it, to me and to their own children, so I don't find it strange that Harry would discuss such things with Eileen.

This story is part of a larger series, Never Again, and if you read the rest of the stories in it, you'll get a much better picture of Harry as a little kid and it focuses a lot on everyday issues, this was simply a piece I wrote to detail one particular incident that was mentioned in the larger novels.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a non baby Eileen. I'm kind of sad Lexy wasn't there too. It kind of threw me off when Harry threatened to spank Eileen. That seems a little weird to me. I can't wait to read more stories in this universe though. Maybe you should write a story focusing on Eileen so I can get used to her as a child and not a baby.

Author's Response: Lexy will be in some other stories coming up, plus the sequel to GP, but this one I thought made sense to have Harry telling the story to Eileen, since Lexy's the same age and wouldn't need the cautionary tale. Harry was kidding when he threatened to spank Eileen, as he said.  I am planning to write another small story with a baby Eileen and then one with all three before the sequel to GP so you can see her grow.  Thanks for reading.

Great ending! Now, go finish that prequel, my dear! LOL

    Have a great day!

Author's Response: Thanks, and I'm working on the last few chapters of Angel too!
