Reviews For An Uncertain Future
Dumbledore's still smoothing everything over and trying to take care of things, even though he's been dead for the better part of a year. At least everyone still follows his commands and obeys him as if he were a flesh and blood person. Just because Snape is cleared of all charges doesn't mean he'll be treated as such, especially by all the students that suffered under his reign as headmaster and all the people who lost loved ones to You-Know-Who. We still have problems with people today trying to stir up the past and have people punished for things that their families have done in WWII and such. “Because of course, you know what a demonstrative person I am”, what a nice thing for Snape to say so sarcastically. :) Great chapter once again!
"Yes Albus, there is nothing more I would rather be doing than having someone administer a foul tasting potion, rip my mind apart and expose my deepest thoughts and feelings for all the world to view. Because of course, you know what a demonstrative person I am," Severus said sarcastically.- And that's why we love you Sevvy!! ^_^ That was a great line and sounded A LOT like Snape. I think this was my favorite line in this section, but then it was all good! Ha! You go Minerva! You put your foot down! She made me happy in this. OH! And Harry being embarrassed that Hermione and Ron were *cough* "snuggling" was hilarious. Poor Harry... Great chappie Pandora! Now I've gotta go to the next! :D Author's Response: Yeah, I thought that I'd torture Snape a bit! But there is a reason for my madness, as you'll see. Yeah, Snape and his legendary temper! LOL! Thanks, I had so much fun writing a nasty Snape! I love Minerva. She's almost the only one that can really handle Snape! She puts him in his place.
Hee hee. I think that Harry wanted to do a little of his own snuggling too.
Thanks for reviewing Ivy.
-P.G. Author's Response: Harry is very unbalanced emotionally right now, and Sev is too. They both need help, the poor boys...enter Minerva!
Author's Response: Severus is a tough nut to crack, but if anyone can do it, it will be Minerva! I also have faith that Sev will eventually fall under Harry's spell as well. After all...Harry has alot of Lily in him; eventually Snape will see that...albeit reluctantly at first. Great chapter. I was surprised to see that you had Kingsley as interim MoM, and of course I didn't see your A/N i=until I had finished reading the chap. Good job...I really like Kingsley. Loved HArry's introspection ab out everything, especially Ginny. Wonder if she is going to give him a hard time. It was funny poor HArry had to leave the dorm because our young lovers were busy behind the curtains! The interrogation scene was great and Minerva's appeal to Sev was expected, but boy, has she ever given him a huge workload or what? Why did he feel that Minierva had given him no choice but to succumb to her entreaties? Was it the appeal to be there for 'his' Slytherins? Really enjoyed this. Will get onto the next two chaps ASAP. Can't wait to see H/G and more of Sev/Harry. Lesley Author's Response: Thanks! I take all my reviews very seriously, and I wanted the story to be as close to Canon as possible, so when you pointed out my little blunder, I just had to go change it. To tell you the truth, I like the change. I've always liked Kingsley too, so I'm thankful that you pointed out that Scrimgeour was dead. It has been quite a while since I've read the books that I'd completely forgotten.
I think that Sev's motivation in accepting Minerva's offer to be Headmaster, has alot to do with his pleasure that Minerva has offered him something that he always felt lacking before, respect! After all..in offering him so much responsibility, Minerva has given him the message that she believes in his loyalty, and she is placing her trust in him. Also, I think that in the past, Sev has always felt that his authority was undermined by Dumbledore and this has always been a sore spot for him. Yes, he can also help his Slytherins as well, by being in a position of power. Of course for Harry, Snape's postion of authority could spell trouble! He won't have Dumbledore there to smooth things over for him anymore. Perhaps that was another appealing aspect to accepting this position as well! Harry better be a good little boy! (As if!)
Author's Response: Thank you. I really appreciate all the kind words. This is my very first story ever, so it is encouraging to receive such nice support and encouragement.
We both updated pretty quickly, I think! I just posted my new chapter yesterday. Author's Response: Hee hee, I'm evil, aren't I? It's only temporary though. Minerva will find a replacement eventually. I just wanted Harry and Snape to be thrown to be thrown together as much as possible, and this is my cruel way of doing it! LOL Minerva has a method to her madness as well, she has a motive as well for asking Snape to teach both classes. She wants Harry to have someone there for him, and she does care about Snape too, and as much of a shock as it was to her to find out that Snape was Harry's father, she feels that they would be good for each other, but that Snape is too stubborn to realize it on his own. So he needs a little push from a Gryffindor! As far as making him her second, you are right, she does trust Severus, and that IS her way of showing it. Also, the poor woman needs the help! She's no spring chicken, remember! ;) Thanks for reviewing, and I DID read your story already, but I just haven't had a chance to leave a review yet, because I've been getting home from work rather late. As a matter of fact, it is 6:48, and I only just got home, haven't eaten supper, and was waiting for a bus for over an hour in the freezing rain and wind! Gotta go get a tea, then I'll be off to review YOUR story! hee hee!
And Minerva rocks! While no one can replace Dumbledore, one can certainly see that she will be an excellent headmistress for Hogwarts. Even Severus can't stand against her for long. And I love how concerned she is for Harry. I can imagine a real bond developing between the professors and the students who fought together. Thanks for the chapter! Author's Response: If Shacklebolt had had his way, this interrogation would never have taken place. I actually changed that scene a bit because I had forgotten that Scrimgeour had died! Lesley pointed this out to me, and I rewrote a part of chapter three, as well as chapter four, before I had posted it. I was going to originally leave it like that, but I decided that I preferred to keep the story as true to Canon as possible. In reality, Shacklebolt stil has to answer to the members of the Wizengamot, and the Wizarding community, and if he had not followed procedure, and just declared Severus innocence without proof to substantiate the claim, then down the road it could have caused problems for Severus. Better to have done it by the book! Yes, Minerva is very fond of Harry, and Severus better watch out because she's become very protective of Harry! Yes, how can you go through an ordeal such as that, and NOT bond! I loved writing that scene, because I thought that it would be interesting to see the ultimate Gryffindor manipulate the ultimate Slytherin! I'm considering giving her a more prominent role in the story. It is rare that Minerva is a main character. What do you think? Thanks again for your review, and when are you going to update Slave Child? I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter! ;) Thanks for the review
Author's Response: Yes, I love Minerva, and I think that, though she can be rather stern, she is going to be Harry's biggest champion, other than Ginny, Hermione and Ron, of course!
I just love how she has Snape wrapped around her little finger! Not too many people can manage THAT! ;)
i hope ginny help harry because he to be in a depression. and snape.i could understand he now angry but he learn about his son years ago also he hate his son.poor harry. Author's Response: Ginny will help Harry through his turmoil, but I must warn you that they too will have ups and downs, but Ginny has loved Harry for a long time, and she will always be his rock. By the time Snape had learned about Harry's relationship to him, he had already developed a hatred for him, that was so deep, it was hard to change his views of Harry. In addition, Dumbledore had manipulated him into being a spy for the Light, and it would have been enormously dangerous for both Snape AND Harry, had their relationship come to light...so even if Snape had of begun to see Harry in a different light, he would have been unable to show it. It is just as well that Harry hadn't known either because during fifth year, Voldemort was invading his thoughts, and Harry was having difficulty learning Occlumency. After seventeen years of believing that your child is the child of your sworn enemy, it is going to take some time for Snape to soften towards Harry, but give it time and perhaps Snape will see what a great young man his son really is!
