Reviews For An Uncertain Future
Nicely done. Author's Response: LOL Snape is not the epitomy of patience, is he? Harry, unfortunately, is used to learning things the hard way the poor kid.
But YAYS! Snape went after him!! I did feel bad that he got knocked over again, but yay anger that inspired him to go to Minerva! Ginny's rant made me sad for Severus (even though he deserved it) I wanted to hug Snape when he got all sad there (but I won't, only cuz I wanna live a bit longer) ^_^ I'm glad Snape is sticking to Harry though. Snape sounds a lot like my dad when it comes to the drinking part. He always tells us kids when we're angry with him that he doesn't care but he's going to help us...only my daddy really does care, he just wants to be tough...but maybe Sev will feel the same later? *looks hopeful* Wonderful chappie, Pandora! But I need to sleep. See you on the 'morrow! Author's Response: Yeah, poor Harry. He's just feeling really bad right now, and I guess that alcohol seemed like the answer, but when the hangover comes, he's not going to feel too good in the morning!
Hee hee, poor Severus. He must have a hard head. He DOES need a hug though, doesn't he? But I'm not brave enough to give him one either.
I think that Snape IS starting to care, but he's not going to be too quick to admit it. He's just not a demonstrative person. He'll come around the big teddy bear (DO NOT TELL HIM I SAID THAT). LOL Thanks Ivy. Yeah, go sleep! I don't want to be responsible for your sleep deprivation! :)
Hmm, I'm tempted to review twice now, so I can be the 100th, but I suppose ice cream isn't good for my diet, lol! Great chapter! It sounds like Severus and Harry may be beginning to take the first baby steps towards a better relationship, though I'm sure it will be a very long road ahead still. I'm glad that Severus went after Harry and got him back to Hogwarts and that he's willing to keep help watch over him...not that Harry's going to appreciate it, I bet. So Severus has begun to wonder why Harry is small and unhealthy-looking? He needs to find out about the Dursleys, for sure, though if that's going to happen when Harry tells him, then it'll probably be awhile because I don't see Harry confiding personal secrets in his father anytime soon. Loved Ginny here. She's not intimidated by Severus, is she? And oh Harry, too much alcohol is never a good solution for one's problems! Too bad he's having to learn the hard way... I'm looking forward to the next chapter! Author's Response: No prob! I've been enjoying the fruits of your labour! :) Ok, so the 99th review gets an ice-cream too! What flavour? Oh, don't even talk to me about diets! I've been popping candies all day long at work. My co-worker brought a big jar, put it on the counter, and keeps filling it up. My waistline's taken a beating, I tell you. Yes, Harry is not happy about Snape keeping such a close eye on him, even though he realises it's in his best interest. They are making some progress on their relationship though, yes, it will be an uphill battle. But they'll get there. I think that as they get closer, maybe Severus will find out about the Durselys. but you know Harry, he hates people feeling sorry for him, and the Dursleys are long gone, so he might figure it's not worth stirring up old memories. Yeah, I like a firy Ginny. She's going to defend her man, even if it IS against the fearsome Severus Snape. LOL! Go girl! Harry went a little overboard with the alcohol, but like all teenagers it will take a few bad hangovers before he learns his lesson. With Snape around though, Harry had better watch out if he gets drunk again. I'm sure Snape will let him suffer next time! I'm just fininshing up Chapter 12, and then I'll give it to Tabitha to beta, and then maybe in the next couple of days it will be up. Thanks for taking the time out of YOUR busy writing schedule to take the time to review. Can't wait for YOUR next update.
And I'd guess Harry's learned his lesson about drinking too much. Author's Response: Yes, they are both so darned stubborn! But they do need each other, if only they'd admit it! Harry is very much going to resent having Severus monitoring his every move, but it is very necessary right now. Harry could very well do something he would regret, like hurting those he cares about the most. Harry needs Severus' expertise to help rid his system of the Dark Magic, and although Severus doesn't exactly have a great bedside manner, he really is the only one who can truly help Harry! As for the drinking, yes experience is the best teacher, isn't it? LOL Hopefully Harry won't be so foolish again!
Sev seems to be softening a little. Everyone telling him that Lily would be ashamed of him seems to be having an effect. Loved Ginny's feistiness...go Ginny, go! Great chapter. Lesley Author's Response: I was thinking of that as I was writing it! I can't remember which fic though, because I've read so many where Harry gets pissed, including yours! Ooh, I just found which one it is, "In Blood Only", what a great story! Oh, and btw, I thought of the idea of the conversation with Minerva about Severus telling her that Harry had better not call him Dad, after reading your chapter in Shocking Discovery, where Harry struggles about what to call Severus. I hope you don't mind me using your idea, even if it's not in the same context! Yeah, I love a feisty Ginny. I love the WHOLE concept of Ginny and Harry, and plan to make Ginny a major character in this fic! Severus is finally beginning to see some sense, and yes the guilt is killing him. What WOULD Lily think about the way that he's been treating his own son! Tsk, tsk, naughty Sevvy! Oh and when are you going to update "Muggle"; I'm so anxious! Well, I'd be pleased if you updated either one of your great fics!
Author's Response: Thank you. I'm trying to make the relationship develop at a believable time-frame. It wouldn't do, to have Harry and Snape best buddies right away. It's more believable to have them struggle for awhile. They are two hard-headed guys as well; they are not going to see eye-to-eye all the time, even when their relationship does improve. Thanks for taking the time to review.
At least, Snape seems to have gotten through to him for the time being. You can tell that Harry hasn't had anyone care for him if the simple words "This is for your own good." are the ones that speak to him. Poor guy. I bet with time, the two will at least be able to tolerate each other, though it would be nice if they could find some common ground. I can't wait to see what happens when Harry wakes up--hopefully, he won't tear up Sev's rooms or try to steal his wand back. That would be bad news. Keep up the good work--I really like this story! -P.G. Author's Response: Oh trust me the fireworks will fly when Harry comes back to reality! LOL
I think that Snape actually caring about Harry's welfare is what actually got through to him. He's very confused, depressed and feeling very alone right now, so I think that especially in his inebriated state that he recognizes that Snape is trying to make an effort to be there for him. After all, Snape came after him, albeit grumpily. Harry recognizees that this is a big step for Snape. Even in his fuzzy, alcohol soaked brain!
It will be hard work to get Harry well, but at least Harry is in good hands, so to speak! Well, alright, at least Harry is in caring hands. Ok, well, Harry is not on his own anymore. Snape may be tough, but he'll take care of Harry and protect him from himself.
Author's Response:
Thanks! Hey, good point! Maybe Sev will do that! |
