Draco is sooo gonna get himself hexed. While I can understand his logic, he's certainly being a bit of little prat, isn't he?

Loved all the 'Pot-Harry' earlier in the chapter - had me in stitches. ^^ Nice work.

    Author's Response:

Lol. Yeah, Harry can be a prat at times.

    LOL Thanks.

Haha! Poor Harry, had to get all sobered up by daddy dearest...poor kid, but it was his own fault. I kinda clapped for Severus there. I would have done something a bit cruel like that myself...actually, when my older sister was home from a party one time, she slept on the couch and I made bacon and sausage for her that morning. ^_^ She didn't have a fun time after that.

But my my, what tempers! I was actually thinking along the lines of Harry when he asked why Snape got to call him Potter and he couldn't call him Snape. Poor Sev, now that he calls Harry by his name it'll make the boy more human to him. What an unfortunate thing *SARCASM!!!*

But Minerva must just like shows because she let Harry and Ginny tag team it up against Snape. Poor man, I really thought he was going to lose it there for a minute...or two. I think I would've flipped out had I been that angry, but then again, Snape is a master at control...in some ways...

But me thinks Draco's going to cause some MAJOR problems here. I mean, Harry was starting to actually realize that Snape's trying, even in his befuddled state, but at the same time, his mind's delicate and I think Draco wants to mess it all up. PRAT!!

Now, the only remaining question here is who's Severus going to go to for help?....

Fantastic chappie Pandora! I'll read on later. :D

    Author's Response:

You didn't go to bed yet!  :O

I would NOT want to be sobered up by Severus Snape, that is for sure! :)  Well, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.  No one could accuse Severus of being kind, not if they value their lives, that is! LOL.  Ooh, that sounds horrible with a hangover!  I bet she never wanted that for breakfast again! :)

    Like father, like son, eh?

Minerva can be tough sometimes. I guess she feels that there is power in numbers!

Yes, you cannot trust Draco as far as you can throw him, and sometimes I'd dearly love to throw him.  Harry is beginning to see subtle signs of change in Snape. It's a slow process, but Snape is slowly coming around. Unfortunately, Draco WILL try to mess it all up for Sev and Harry, but whether it'll work or not, is another matter.

    Thanks Ivy!!!

Well, at least harry is starting to realize that Sev has his best interests at heart, even if he refuses to admit it. Though for a minute I thought they were going to kill each other. Is most of Harry's attitude due to the influence of the Dark Magic?

Author's Response: Harry can be incredibily stubborn at times, and he does have reason to doubt Severus' motives, doesn't he?  After all, the man has been horrid to Harry in the past. Yes, a fair amount of Harry's defiance has to do with the Dark Magic, but also Harry's determination not to be pushed around by Snape, but he is really pushing Severus to the limit!! LOL!

Excellent chapter! I know I am overdue reading this...I did so after getting the alert for the next chapter which I will be going onto straight away.

Poor Harry. He really is in the grip of something that will destroy him if he did not have caring friends and a--perhaps not so caring, but trying valiantly to overcome his past attitude--father.

The battle to overcome past attitudes on Sev's part was really well written and came across in all of its frustration. Sev to me, was showing all of the irritation of being hard done by--why did Potter's welfare ultimately fall to his lot to keep on track? But at the same time, Harry's welfare has been Severus' lot for a long time now, and he is now having to deal with something potentially more dangerous than anything in the past, because the darkness was outside of Harry before.

All of the admonitions about Lily have really hit home and Sev is reluctantly beginning to feel much more of a responsibility towards the boy and whetehr he likes it or not, his softer emotions are being bought into play. He is still fighting hard to prevent them showing too overtly however.

Harry is just so very volatile...but it seems that he is coming to the realisation that he is a bomb waiting to explode. His feelings of security now that he has Snape on board were well described.

Ginny was brilliant, but she really needs to learn to bite her tongue. She is like a mother bear with her cub. Pity Sev can't see this and relent a little. After all, they are all trying to help Harry, are they not?

    Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Thank you Lesley.  I'm so sorry, that I didn't answer your review before. I only just noticed it.  With all my internet and computer problems, I come on here when I can at work; which is not very often.

I really wanted to show Snape's gradual transformation, and realisation that although in the past it was necessary to deny his relationship to Harry, that it is no longer necessary and actually detrimental to himself and Harry alike.  By opening himself up to the possibilities, he could enrich both their lives.  Harry may be seventeen, but he really still needs someone in his life.  His friends are great, but having a father cannot be equalled.  Harry really needs that in his life.

Severus does feel very guilty about what Lily would have thought about his past treatment of Harry.  Thank goodness that Sev is making an effort now.  However, let's face it, Severus is never going to be a fuzzy warm type of guy, and he's not going to start handing out lollies to his students, but if at the very least their relationship could improve then that is a step in the right direction.

Harry is very volatile, and even Harry feels very out of control, and it's not a nice feeling to feel that you have no control over your temper or your emotions, and to have memory lapses is dangerous.  He realises that even though Snape is not "nice", he is stable and reliable and a someone to have on your side.

I love Ginny's little temper!  But yeah, she DID go a teensy weensy bit overboard, didn't she!  She's just a little spit-fire.  Harry likes a strong woman!  LOL!

Thanks for reviewing Lesley, and I really wish I could leave YOU a proper review but darned ffnet is not working properly!  But it was amazing, and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Another great chapter, Pandora! I think I can begin to see Severus trying to take some small steps towards improving his relationship with his son, but he is still thoroughly disagreeable. They have a long way to go yet!

I just love your Ginny. She's great, and Severus might do well to remember that she's going to be the mother of his grandchildren one day. He better start watching his step with her, too, lol. Of course he's probably not thinking that far ahead right now, and as his relationship with Harry is still so rocky, he might not be enarmored with the idea of grandchildren yet either! But it might be fun to see that cross his mind.

Poor Harry...he's really in trouble with this dark magic. I hope Severus can help him, even if he does need to find some help.

Looking forward to the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  You'll begin to see even more progress in their relationship in the next chapter.  It will be a slow progress because there is too much water under the bridge at this point, and it will take a lot of work on both their parts to make this work.

You are too funny!  Grandchildren, indeed.  Granpa Sev!  Nah, just can't picture it!  Hee hee!  Sev would hex us to kingdom-come for even suggesting it!  He can't even bear the thought of Harry refering to him as "Dad" or anything other than Severus, Professor or Sir! But yeah, maybe you've given me a funny little scenario to write.  That WOULD be a hilarious conversation, wouldn't it?

I'm glad that you like this Ginny, because it's my intention to make her, as well as Hermione, very strong intelligent women who are loyal to their men.  Ginny even has the guts to stand up to Snape of all people.  She's really got guts, doesn't she.  But I'll tell you a little secret.  Snape actually is secretly impressed with her courage in standing up to him!  Not too many people have done that and lived to tell the tale! LOL!

Harry IS in deep with the Dark Magic, but don't worry, Snape may be a git, but if anyone can help Harry beat this, it is Snape!

Thanks for reviewing , and I've already written quite a bit of the next chapter!

Can't wait for YOUR next update (hint hint)!

Poor Sev, this is so hard for him. He has no idea how to go about it and it's a serious problem. I was happy to see him interact with Harry in a better way during portions of this chapter though. They were civil with each other for a few moments and Harry does seem to appreciate it when he's not being influenced by the dark powers.

Good work; I can't wait to read more!

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Sev is really out of his element here, isn't he?  He just doesn't "do" nice!  He is really trying though, in his strange way!  Harry gets angry with the man, and rightfully so, for being such a git at times, but he does appreciate that Snape is there for him.

Thanks for reviewing.  New chapter soon!

thank you new chapter.this my favorite chapter:)
when snape is harry' teacher, harry isnt scared snape but now harry is scared to his father maybe because of dursley.
i love father and son moments.and i love when ginny angry with snape.
im glad they again start occlumency lessons.now snape wil see harry' childhood memories.
    please update soon

    Author's Response:

Thank you, and because you are my 100th reviewer, you get an ice cream!!  What flavour will it be?

I think that Harry is not really scared of Snape per se, but since they are in close proximity in Snape's quarters, and Snape holds all the cards right now, Harry is perhaps a little intimidated by Snape.  After all, Harry has to admit that he needs Snape's help in this, and it has never been easy for independant Harry to rely on anyone, especially an adult, and one who  has been as nasty as Snape has been in the past, makes it even more difficult.

Thanks for reviewing.  I'm already a good ways into the next chappie!

Yeah, I know Occlumency lessons have been a common way for Snape to find out in the past about Harry's abuse by the Durselys but it is necessary to help Harry in his fight against the Dark Magic.
