Oh! Poor Harry! I shouldn't laugh, but I can't help it - it's tooo funny.

Love how all the 'scars' left by dark magic have been cleansed. Rather nice touch.

Terrible cliffy. Again, poor Harry. ^^

Author's Response: Don't worry. Things will start looking up for Harry...for awhile. (Evil cackle)

Snort... at least he didn't get Severus' nose.

My favorite line in this is, "If he had done nothing else right with his life, he at least could be proud of having sired this incredibility talented, handsome young man." Not sure why it struck a chord, but maybe it's b/c it shows humility on Severus' part. Nice writing, as usual!

oh, and thanks for the hat-tip at the beginning of the chapter. that was very nice... just sorry i've been such a poor reviewer lately! :)

    Author's Response:

To be honest with you, I almost did it!  I was arguing with my two voices, you know the little Angel on one shoulder and the little Devil on the other, and the Angel won for this one.  I thought that Harry had enough to deal with already. I had to give the poor kid a break.

Oh thank you. Yeah, Severus is very proud of Harry.  Ooops did I spell incredibily wrong?  Or did you?  Yikes, better go back and check! Yeah, Snape knows that he is not a nice person, buthe recognises that Harry IS and he's proud that his son is so much like Lily yet has grown into his own person as well.

Again, I'm pleased as punch that you're back, and you're making me blush at your kind words.   :)

You know, I always feel a certain amount of mourning when I read any story where Harry's looks change so drastically, there is not a trace of the original character anywhere; you've even made his eyes darker than they were, even if they are till green. They are no longer really Lily's eyes. I mean, even the scar is gone here. And to make it even worse here, Harry is not upset in the slightest about how much his looks have changed, He doesn't even seem all that shocked. This is no longer a story about Harry Potter; it is a story about Harry Snape. James has once again been relegated to fanfics list of biggest villians it seems and Harry could care less.

When I first started reading this story I said I was surprised that Harry never spared a thought for James. and he still hasn't. Sev can only really say 'na na na na na, Potter...oh, yeah, thanks for dying to protect my son though!'. At least he thought of James in passing...Harry didn't. I just find that very sad.

Anyway, that's just me. Good side effect of the ritual though, having Sev's scars disappear, although I am not entirely sure how that happened as the ritual was directed at Harry.

I am sure Ginny won't find any fault with Harry's new looks. It seems he is good looking now where he looked like James potter before.

Sorry if I sound down, but as I said, I found this chapter very sad as it was the end of so much, even if it is the beginning of so much more.

    Lesley~

    Author's Response:

I understand how you feel, but don't forget that Severus is Harry's father in this story, not James, so Harry's appearance was a lie.   Harry's eyes only very slightly changed from before, they are still bascially a replica of Lily's. I wanted Harry to still have something of Lily.

As far as Severus' feelings towards James goes, don't forget that there is a lot of water uner the bridge between the two men but despite that he has realised despite his grudge against James, that the man sacrificed his life for his sons, and he is actually very appreciative.  Harry has had a lot to deal with, and finding out he is not in fact James' son has been very difficulat for him. I also think that Harry is in shock right now.  It has really hit home that his whole identity was a lie, and it's a lot to deal with. I think that he has showed the proper respect for James, and he is having a hard time dealing with his looks, because he seems very unsure of himself.  Part of this story, is to bring Severus and Harry closer, and I just felt that having Severus actually be able to see that Harry is his son, and not just know it in his heart, will really enforce that closeness and bonding that has been difficult for the both of them.

No one is forgetting about James, but Harry really never knew the man, and Severus was not close to him, so it is normal that they will concentrate on their own relationship and not have James Potter on their mind.  There will always be a special place in Harry's heart for the man that sacrificed his life for him, but now he has to move on and put the past behind him.  That doesn't mean that James contribution to his life is any less important, but he has to live his life now, and concentrate on forming a relationship with Severus, which is the focus of this story. I had planned on other ways down the road for Harry to honour James, but I didn't want to focus too much on a ghost. My main goal is to have Harry and Severus grow closer.

As far as the ritual goes, the premise of the White Magic is that is so strong that, as in the ritual with the Dark Magic, it affects everyone in the room because of the backlasth.  The reason that in the Dark Ritual, Harry was more affected, was because he was the once that actually cast the final spell to extract the soul from the Horcrux. White Magic works on a different principle.  It almost is like a powerful vacuum that reverses negative energy in the air, so Severus was able to benefit from it's stray magical energy.

Dawn, for shame! Cliffie after cliffie! I liked this chapter though and how Harry and Snape were both restored by the ritual. I'm glad that Snape was able to accept Harry before the change, but I think the change will only make them closer (assuming that things don't go badly with Harry's friends, that is).

    Update soon please!!!!!

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Sorry, but it just seemed to naturally end there!  I like the fact that the ritual cleansed both their souls, and allowing them to have a fresh start.

I think that even though Snape was beginning to care deeply for Harry before the change, I think that now that he can actually see the change, it really hits home for Severus that Harry is his son. Harry's friends? Well you'll have to wait and see!  (Evil cackle)

    I'll try to update soon.

I'm so happy that they are finally getting along and that Harry now looks like his father. I love how you described the changes in Harry's appearance and how it affected both him and Sev.

Sev must have a recessive eye color gene in his DNA though in order for Harry's eyes to have been green instead of dark, since generally a dark eye color is dominant. Sorry, I was just discussing genetics with my nephew, explaining how he got his curly hair.

Personally, I think it would have been funny if Harry inherited Sev's nose, they say that a large nose means you have a great deal of personality.

I was also very happy to see that Severus' Dark mark and scars are gone, it must be such a relief!

I hope nobody says anything derogatory about the new Harry.

    Author's Response:

To be honest with you, in my original draft, I had Harry's eyes go quite a bit darker green, but I changed it because I just didn't have the heart to take the one thing off of Harry that he prized so much and brought him so close to his mother.  So I settled for making his eyes slightly darker!

It would have been funny to have a big nose like Sev, or more hawk-like, but i figured the poor kid had enough to deal with already!  LOL!

Actually, I took a page out of your book for taking reviwers suggestions into consideration while writing the story.  One reader asked if Severus would be able to cleanse his soul as well, since he had committed many unspeakable acts in the past, and I thought that it was a brilliant idea.  The change in Harry's appearance was also at the request of a reviewer.  It is very enjoyable to have readers discuss what they'd like to see  in the story, and I always appreciated that about you.

Well, there will probably be some that will bother Harry about his looks, probably Slytherins--Oh well, on second thought maybe not.  I don't think they'd want to mess with their Head of House.

    Lovely for Snape and Harry.

    Author's Response:

Hey, you're over here!  Didn't you read my story at fanfiction?!

Yeah, I thought that they both deserved a break.  Thanks for reviewing!

Oh, I had wondered if you were going to have Harry's appearance change...I'm glad you kept him good-looking, lol!

I just really am amazed at how well you describe Harry and Severus' thoughts and emotions. You write them with such depth. It's easy to feel what they feel and to understand them. I love when an author can really get inside a character's head, and bring the reader along too.

I can imagine that this is quite a shock for Harry, and that he feels very disoriented and doesn't know quite what to think about it all. The advantages are first, that the ritual worked and he's free from the taint of dark magic. Another good thing is that I think Harry's changed appearance has truly helped Severus to see Harry as his son. Of course he had already accepted Harry as his, but with Harry still looking so much like James, I imagine that there was a lingering sense of...well, I'm not sure exactly the word I'm looking for, because Severus had accepted Harry and was even learning to love him so 'resentment' and 'doubt' are not appropriate. But I think this is finally allowing Severus to let go of the past, and his own inhibitions and see Harry as both his son and a link to Lily, and a unique person in his own right. So maybe it's easier for Severus to put the past behind him now. But it's probably going to take Harry a while to adjust!

But Harry is still the same person that he's always been, and I do hope that Ron, Hermione, and Ginny will understand that and will be supportive. Surely, after all they've been through at this point, they won't let a relatively minor thing like physical appearance affect their relationship. I hope...

I love Severus' thoughts about fatherhood! Sev is really becoming quite mushy...for him, that is! But I love this side of him, and I think it is totally believable because you have taken the time to slowly develop the relationship. Of course, I have no illusions that Severus is a completely different person. I'm sure he can still be snarky and ornery as ****. And I'm sure that his relationship with his son is not going to be all smooth sailing from here on out either. But I am so glad to see them becoming closer. I loved the little talk between them where Harry was wanting to live with Severus, at least part of the time, and Severus was trying to reassure him that he was always welcome. I was proud of them. They might have been a little hesitant at first, but they each got their message across in the end.

And I love that the white magic ritual cleansed Severus, too!

Now, I know you updated really quickly, and I'm so grateful, but it just makes me want the next chapter even more!

    Great job, as always!

    Author's Response:

I wanted it to be a complete surprise, but PG was way too perceptive, and I guess that you were too!! Yeah, Harry was handsome before, but now he's stunning with Sev's fine-boned features and just enough of Lily's features to soten the angles.  He's got the advantage now as well, that he doesn't have the glasses to hide his beautiful eyes, so he's still a handsome young man.

I love how Severus and Harry have come a long way in their relationship.  Severus will probably always have a hard time showing physically how he feels, but I think that he is starting to feel a little more comfortable to express to Harry how he feels.  He'll never be a demonstrative man, and he's not suddenly going to be a "nice" man, but I think that Harry's new appearance has made Severus really see that Harry is his son.  Although, he had already grown to care for Harry deeply, I don't think that until now, it's really hit him that Harry is really a part of him.  He, of course, put aside the fact that Harry looked like his archenemy, and was able to look deeper and care for Harry for who he was, it wasn't until he could see  the extraordinary resemblance between the two of them, that the final peice of the puzzle was completed, so to speak.

I think that for the first time in Severus' life, he felt incompetant at something, and that was not a pleasant feeling for him. He felt vulnerable and unsure of himself, and of course he tried to hide it by being gruff and cold.  Thank goodness that Harry has come to understand this about his father, and help Severus overcome his feelings of inadequacy. I think perhaps that it has been very difficult for Harry as well.  He's not used to being a son either. He's never had a real parent to be concerned over his safety or welfare, and is more like Severus in the feelings department, more than he realises.  It's hard for Harry to show emotion as well, because he's been hurt over and over again.  Everytime he gets close to someone, he loses them.  He doesn't want to lose Severus too, so he's been rather defiant and sometimes  downright insolent to hide HIS feelings of insecurity and uncertaintty. Yes, our boys have come a long way.

I appreciate your compliment and that you feel that I've been able to express the characters' emotions and feelings, but I thinkt that about YOU!!!

No, things are not suddenly going to be smooth sailing, as you put it, from here onward, but I think that they've past a major milestone in their relationship.  I think that they're both happy that they didn't throw in the towel, and took the extra effort to get to know each other, because the rewards are endless.

I hadn't thought of having Severus benefit from the ritual, but a reviewer at fanfiction.net asked me if Severus' soul would be cleansed from the ritual as well, and I thought that it was a superb idea.  Oh, and the idea to have Harry's appearance change, was at the request from another reviewer over there.  My goodness, it's like my reviewers are writing my story for me!!! LOL!  Seriously though, I thought that they were brilliant ideas, and I was happy to incorporate them into the plot because I think that it will add spice to the story line.  At least I hope I can do it justice!

     I'll try to update quickly!

Thanks Kristeh, and I am so so so excited at reading YOUR next chappie.  I'll take an update on either  SC OR APOP!!

Guesses: Ron turns evil, Ginny breaks up with him. Hermione falls in love with him. :D

    Author's Response:

LOL!!   Hmmm...you'll have to wait and see!  Interesting suggestions though!

All I "will" say, is that it is going to be a shock for Hary's friends and WILL turn everyone's world upside down. It should be really fun!  Of course, that depends on your definition of fun! :)
