Hmm, I once read another story where Harry got very drunk and Sev was worried about alcohol poisoning...can't remember the name of it though. LOL.

Sev seems to be softening a little. Everyone telling him that Lily would be ashamed of him seems to be having an effect.

    Loved Ginny's feistiness...go Ginny, go!

    Great chapter.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

I was thinking of that as I was writing it!  I can't remember which fic though, because I've read so many where Harry gets pissed, including yours!  Ooh, I just found which one it is, "In Blood Only", what a great story!  Oh, and btw, I thought of the idea of the conversation with Minerva about Severus telling her that Harry had better not call him Dad, after reading your chapter in Shocking Discovery, where Harry struggles about what to call Severus.  I hope you don't mind me using your idea, even if it's not in the same context!

Yeah, I love a feisty Ginny.  I love the WHOLE concept of Ginny and Harry, and plan to make Ginny a major character in this fic!

Severus is finally beginning to see some sense, and yes the guilt is killing him.  What WOULD Lily think about the way that he's been treating his own son! Tsk, tsk, naughty Sevvy!

Oh and when are you going to update "Muggle"; I'm so anxious! Well, I'd be pleased if you updated either one of your great fics!

This is such a well-written fic. I like the connection you're developing between Snape and Harry... it's very believable. Can't wait for the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Thank you.  I'm trying to make the relationship develop at a believable time-frame.  It wouldn't do, to have Harry and Snape best buddies right away. It's more believable to have them struggle for awhile.  They are two hard-headed guys as well; they are not going to see eye-to-eye all the time, even when their relationship does improve.

Thanks for taking the time to review.

Lol, maybe I should wait until you have 99 reviews before I submit mine then... Great chapter! I'm glad it was so easy for Snape to find Harry, even if he was a pain to deal with. Sadly, it was probably easier with him drunk and not thinking coherently anyway--if Harry had been sober, there probably would have been a fight (both verbal and physical).

At least, Snape seems to have gotten through to him for the time being. You can tell that Harry hasn't had anyone care for him if the simple words "This is for your own good." are the ones that speak to him. Poor guy. I bet with time, the two will at least be able to tolerate each other, though it would be nice if they could find some common ground.

I can't wait to see what happens when Harry wakes up--hopefully, he won't tear up Sev's rooms or try to steal his wand back. That would be bad news. Keep up the good work--I really like this story!

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Oh trust me the fireworks will fly when Harry comes back to reality! LOL

I think that Snape actually caring about Harry's welfare is what actually got through to him.  He's very confused, depressed and feeling very alone right now, so I think that especially in his inebriated state that he recognizes that Snape is trying to make an effort to be there for him. After all, Snape came after him, albeit grumpily.  Harry recognizees that this is a big step for Snape.  Even in his fuzzy, alcohol soaked brain!

It will be hard work to get Harry well, but at least Harry is in good hands, so to speak! Well, alright, at least Harry is in caring hands.  Ok, well, Harry is not on his own anymore. Snape may be tough, but he'll take care of Harry and protect him from himself.

Hey, good point!  Maybe Sev will do that!

Well, now that's torn it. Could Harry be under some kind of compulsion from the Drak magic? because leaving Hogwarts is very unwise in his current state, he needs help and the ones who can help him best are right there.

I thought Minerva's conversation was quite amusing and I'm glad that Severus will finally attempt to have a reconciliation with Harry eventually. Hopefully before whatever dark curse takes him over.

I know some other reviewer mentioned it was unreasonable for Snape to take harry's wand, but given the circumstances, he acted to protect the other students. I mean, you don't put a gun in the hand of someone who is mentally unstable and expect them to act rationally or leave one lying around where said person can get at it. You take it away before someone gets hurt.

And while some of the tension between the two is Sev's fault, it's not all his, Harry has been very stubborn, argumentative and plain disrespectful to him and he also holds a grudge, much like his father. They are both very stubborn and will probably but heads continuously until someone bangs their heads together and makes them see sense. Too bad Lily isn't there to do it!

Maybe she needs to come back and deliver a very pointed message to BOTH her men, hmmm?

    Author's Response:

Snape may have his faults, but he took Harry's wand away for his own protection.  Could you imagine if Harry had of seriously hurt or killed someone while he was not in control of his acitons.  He wouldn't be able to live with himself.  It IS very dangerous for Harry to be away from Hogwarts.  He needs someone to monitor his mood swings and find a way to rid his system of the Dark Magic that has invaded it.  Severus, while he can be a pain in the butt at times, is really the only person; the BEST person to help Harry.

Yes, they both are very stubborn.  It IS too bad Lily isn't there to kick there butts!  Yes Harry has inherited Sev's tradmark temper alright!

Great chapter again! It's rather scary what's happening to Harry...the idea that he can't remember almost cast Crucio against Malfoy is worrisome, like something really is trying to take him over. Thank goodness that Minerva, Severus, and his friends have recognized it.

I'm so glad that Severus has finally been shaken...about time too, I'd say. I really want to just shake him, and the fact that he never changed a bit even after learning that Harry was his son is terrible and I hope he feels really guilty about it all at some point. Harry badly needed some support his last few years at Hogwarts.

So Harry has left now? I have to say good for him because Severus needs to understand that he has to quit abusing his authority with Harry and maybe that will also drive it home to him.

The whole scene with him wanting to confiscate Harry's wand is such an example of reaping what's he sown. Obviously Harry was wrong to 'attack' him, and it was probably an example of how the Dark Magic is affecting him...but given the history and past abuse he's suffered, I don't blame him one little bit for being unwilling to relinquish his wand, especially to the hated professor who has consistently bullied and harassed him since day one.

And poor Minerva, the paperwork is always the worst, lol.

I can't wait for the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Ooh, I'm so mad.  I wrote a nice long response, but I'm at work, and somehow it got erased before I pushed the submit button!

Ok, I can't remember all the wise words I had written! Ok, let's start with Harry's wand.  Severus really had no choice but to confiscate it because Harry is dangerous to himself and others right now.  He lacks the self control to prevent himself from killing someone, or himself!  Of course, Sev has no diplomacy and always feels the need to exert his authority in the most unpleasant of manners!  Don't worry though, Sev is going to work on his control issues (well, to a certain extent!) and help Harry overcome his possession of Dark Magic.

I'm warning you though, Sev is never going to be a "nice" man in this story; nor is the relationship between Harry and Sev ever going to be "fluffy and huggy-kissy, but they WILL come to an understanding, and eventually Sev is going to be there for his son.

Bestill your fluttering heart Lesley; next chapter is already being written. Can you last a few more days? :)  Seriously though, I really appreciate you guys support; it is an honour to have such great encouragement, considering how much I enjoy YOUR stories, and I respect your opinions.

I know Harry needs help, but I am so glad he has taken the step to get away from Hogwarts. Why would a grown wizard put up with the garbage he is being forced to if he doesn't have too.

Of course, what will happen to him now is a problem, and one Snape is going to have to address. Or maybe, now Harry isn't constantly under his nose, he will be able to forget their filial connection and get on with his life...the life HArry returned to him.

Don't be too long with the next chapter, Dawn. The suspense won't do my heart any good.

    Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Well, as much as Snape's been an arse to Harry, Harry needs his guidance and expertise to get rid of the Dark Magic.  Harry should not be on his own right now, he's dangerous to himself and others with his lack of impulse control.  Snape needs to get a hold of himself, and help Harry get through this.  Don't worry though, Harry and Minerva's words about Lily being ashamed of him, are finally starting to sink in, so hopefully Sev will finally be there for Harry.

Don't forget though that Snape is basically a very domineering, controlling personality-type, and Harry is very strong-willed as well.  Even if they make progress on their relationship, it will always be a volatile one.  But hey, maybe they can at least learn to co-exist!

As much as Harry wishes right now to forget all about Snape, Severus is the only one who can really help rid him of the Dark Magic, so they have no choice but to reach an understanding.

Don't worry though, there is a light at the end of the rainbow; but the path to the pot of gold will be a rocky one!

Even though Harry is technically of legal age in the Wizarding World, he still is only seventeen, and still needs guidance from those older than him.  Hopefully Sev will be able to eventually give it without lording it over Harry.  But then again, we're talking about Snape here!  :)

Oh no! Is Snape going to be able to handle Harry this way? I don't think he'll give up, as I think he sees that Harry may become a hazard to the wizarding world at large (with enough time and motivation). They need to find him and fast before he does something and gets himself chucked in Azkaban!

Great chapter--I think my favorite part was Minerva giving Severus the guilt-trip about Lily. It was sure to work and it was painful, but hopefully Sev will now understand the importance of what he needs to do. If nothing else, at least he'll do it for Lily.

I think he might change with time though :D.

    -P.G.

    Author's Response:

Yes, Harry is definitely a danger to himself and others, and should not be alone, away from his friends and Minerva, nor even from Snape (as much of a bastard as he's being!) because he needs help and could land himself in serious trouble.

I think that Harry and Minvera's words about Lily being ashamed of him, are finally starting to penetrate that thick skull of his!

Sometimes it takes something serious to happen to shock us into action.  The relationship between Harry and Severus will always be difficult and will require great effort between the two of them, but it can only get better from here on out.  Once they are able to rid Harry of the Dark Magic that has him under its control, that is.

    thanks for new chapter.
actually im glad harry is left hogwart.now maybe thickheaded snape unserstand his mistake.and i hope snape found malfoy jr.' plan.
    please update soon

    Author's Response:

Yeah, Snape just needed something to get his butt in gear!

Harry already suspects Malfoy, so it won't be long till Snape does too.  Maybe Draco has done them a favour though.  Maybe the relationship coming out in the open, was what Snape needed to force him to open his eyes.

I've already started writing the next chapter.

    Thanks for the review! :)

Whoa! Harry’s really snapped; seems the dark pull inside him has increased, and Malfoy’s needling went too far. Good thing Snape halted the crucio curse! I really hope to read the next chapter soon, I'm waiting in suspense to find out what will happen...

The animosity between Harry and Snape has really gotten intense, more then usual with Harry's current behavior. I like that you make them act in character throughout this, I think that regardless of how Harry is being persuaded, that they would still have complications in their relationship revelation... this dark hold over Harry just adds a nice twist :)

Author's Response: Thank you.  I am trying hard to keep them in character as much as possible. Yes, Harry is consumed by whatever forces have hold of him.  As tempting as it is to want to cast a "Crucio" on that git Malfoy, it's a good thing that Severus is so intuitive and talented at Defence; otherwise Harry would be sitting in a cell in Azkaban right about now!
