Wow...that was really intense! Fantastic, in fact.

Poor Harry, it seems that darkness is invading his soul, but will severus care and try to do something about it?

But you know, if I was Harry, I would just say, stuff Hogwarts, stuff Snape, and stuff McGonagall. I would go and pack my belongings and I would head off to Grimmauld Place. But of course, Harry isn't really Harry at the moment is he. He is turning into daddy.

Loved it. Can't wait for next chapter.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

Harry is ready to chuck it in, that is for sure!

A leopard doesn't change it's spots does it?  Draco will never change.  He is Slytherin through and through.  He sees only what "he" can get out of any given situation!

Oh, Snape is an absolute s***. I really dislike him in this.

And Draco is as big a pain as he has always been.

Harry has become quite angry, but in some ways, I think he is justified. Hermione does go on, doesn't she. Harry has killed a man. Let him decide what he wants to do and leave him alone.

    Lesley.

    Author's Response:

Snape is not nice in this, that is for sure!  He will get better, I promise!

Draco is a snot, and a suck-up!  He'll get his in the end, lOl!

Hermione tends to be a little over-bearing, but I guess she means well!

Oh,no! Draco knows! Qeull horreur! Though now that his father is in Azkaban and there is no Voldemort, all he can do is spread the information about and will anyone really care?

Was Harry half an hour late? It didn't seem like it. Or is Snape just lying to Minerva to justify himself. Hermione wouldn't have waited that long for Harry, I'm sure. And I can almost guarantee that Snape wouldn't have taken points from a Slytherin, nor kicked them out of class for being late.

I also think that both Minerva and Snape (as usual) are making too much out of Harry's so-called misdemeanors. They conveniently forget the terrible things that would have come to pass if Harry had not done the things he did and they are attributing blame to Harry for things that were entirely beyond his control...being entered in the Tri-Wizard tournament for starters.

If I was Harry, I would just say goodbye to Auror training and leave school. He could always transfer to Beauxbaton. I wouldn't put up with Snape's crap. Minerva treats Harry like a hero in one instance and then like a little kid with absolutely no rights in the next instance. I think Harry has been independent for too long to put up with the crap.

And I see they are doing seventh year, not sixth.

It also seems like Harry is beginning to succumb to some dark feelings.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

Sorry I missed this one Lesley. Draco is a horreur, that's for sure!  Snape and Harry just hadn't dealt with the changes, so they definitely weren't ready for the world to know their secret!

Things will come full circle.  They will get worse before they get better.

Yeah, Harry and Hermione were only about 10 or 15 minutes late, but according to "Snape time" you can imagine that he's probably exaggerated it!

Minerva really is trying to help, but her whole plan is backfiring on her.  She has put maybe a bit too much faith in Snape's ability to let go of the past. He needs a good kick in the arse!

Harry is definitely ready to throw in the towel.  Hopefully Snape will come around before Harry gets into real trouble!

For my story to work, it had to be seventh year, after Nagini killed Snape.  I guess maybe I'd better put a warning at the beginning that I've changed the timeline to suite my purposes!

Me again. sorry to be a pain. I was just reading some of your other reviews for this chapter and Kristeh's comments about Ron and Potions. He DID take potions with HArry and Hermione because he too wants to be an Auror. He and Harry had exactly the same classes for year six. So, is it year six that you have them finishing off because they didn't actually do their exams after DD died? Even so, if you are going on the canon timeline, there isn't time for revision and exams.

Sounds like I'm nitpicking...sorry. If you just make the BAttle of Hogwarts earlier in the year, it's all fine.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

Didn't they spend all summer searching for Horcruxes, and then the battle took place after seventh year had begun, because Snape was then Headmaster. In my story, I had envisioned that the battle had taken place in September, and school had already started, and then they had to renovate the castle which took a few weeks, so that would make them going back to school some time in October or November, so they have to catch up a bit in the seventh year.  I had Ron drop Potions in the seventh year because Fred's death really hit him hard and he decided that being an Auror was too dangerous.  I actually changed it because Kristeh pointed out to me that Ron did take potions in sixth year!  Rather than change the whole story, I just had Ron decide to drop out of Potions!

I wonder if Ron would have still wanted to be an Auror in Canon after Fred dying.

Thanks for making me think though.  I never realised how hard it was to make things make sense in a story!  It's my first, after all!  It's readers like you that keep me on my toes, and help me improve!  Thanks!

I have been remiss Dawn, in not keeping up with your updates. But I intend to read all that you have posted today. I don't know why your story has gotten away from me because I enjoy it immensely.

This was, as usual, a great chapter and very nicely written. I do have a query about the time-line though.

The Battle of Hogwarts was in May if you are following canon in this, and term finishes at the ned of June. July and August are the summer holidays. The school must have taken more than a couple of days to rebuild, so I am just wondering why McGonagall would have brought the students back for what can only be a couple of weeks. There is no way that even Hermione would be able to catch up with her seventh year studies in just a couple of weeks at most.

I thought you would be bringing the trio back to school at the beginning of September to do their seventh year.

Anyway, I'll just go with the flow.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

I guess that I've kind of played around with the timeline for the purposes of my story. Sorry if it's confusing.  I didn't actually realise that the seventh year was almost over when the battle had taken place.  In my story, the seventh year had begun, and then there was the interupptions of the war, and then the school reopened around October or November* No the renovations took a few weeks.  I'll have to go back and see if I've not made that very clear.

Thanks for taking the time to actually read my story when you are so busy with two of your own.  I am rereading Shocking Discovery from the beginning, btw.  I had read the beginning a long time ago, and got back into it recently, so I wanted to refresh my memory.  It is just as great as I remembered!

I'm so glad to see you back, Pandora, and to see another chapter! Of course, now I just want the next chapter even more, lol!

Boy, things are just getting worse and worse, aren't they? Poor Harry, I'm glad that Minerva and Severus are beginning to notice that Harry's behavior is uncharacteristic and I hope someone will be able to help him soon. That being said, I loved when Harry told Severus that Lily would be ashamed of him and that James had been more of a father than he ever had...that needed to be said and I hope it gives Severus pause.

Nasty little Draco...I sure hope he gets what's coming to him soon. And the other Slytherins aren't much better...sounds like they really need to be taken in hand.

Can't wait for the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Oh thank you!  I'm already working on the next chapter as a matter of fact.  I've been having internet problems, so that is why I haven't been on lately.  That and I've been really sick.

Hopefully that comment to Sev will smarten him up and take notice of his son.

Draco is a toad isn't he?  He owes Harry big time, and yet he cares only about himself!  Don't worry, Draco will get his!

    Author's Response:

Some things never change, do they?  Harry always ends up getting blamed for Draco's actions!  Not fair really, is it?

Draco will get what's coming to him, don't worry! ;)

Oopss, what is wrong with our Harry - would be PTSD (post tramautic stress disorder).

Severus better watch his own house.

    Author's Response:

Hmm, that's an interesting guess!  Very close, but not quite!  But that is adding to the mix, that's for sure.

Yeah Sev better keep a better eye on his slimy slytherins!  LOL!  Thanks for reviewing!

Oh boy... Harry's in it deep now. I'm glad that people are starting to notice that something is off about him and that he's being affected by something that is out of his control. I hope they can do something to help him and I hope Snape doesn't go all-out on him next chapter, though I have a feeling that is what will happen.

    Great chapter--update soon!

    -P.G.

Author's Response: Yeah, Harry's really losing control.  Don't worry though, he's got a lot of people who care for him, and will help him get through this rough spot.  Maybe even Snape!
