Good chapter. I liked how you showed that Minerva seems to care about both Harry and Severus and shows her trust in Snape by making him her second. But two classes to teach, ah the poor guys gonna be worn to a shadow! And hopefully Harry will try and make some overtures, it would have to come from him, because Severus would never feel secure enough to approach his son given their history.

We both updated pretty quickly, I think! I just posted my new chapter yesterday.

    Author's Response:

Hee hee, I'm evil, aren't I?  It's only temporary though.  Minerva will find a replacement eventually.  I just wanted Harry and Snape to be thrown to be thrown together as much as possible, and this is my cruel way of doing it!  LOL

Minerva has a method to her madness as well, she has a motive as well for asking Snape to teach both classes.  She wants Harry to have someone there for him, and she does care about Snape too, and as much of a shock as it was to her to find out that Snape was Harry's father, she feels that they would be good for each other, but that Snape is too stubborn to realize it on his own.  So he needs a little push from a Gryffindor!  As far as making him her second, you are right, she does trust Severus, and that IS her way of showing it.  Also, the poor woman needs the help!  She's no spring chicken, remember!  ;)

Thanks for reviewing, and I DID read your story already, but I just haven't had a chance to leave a review yet, because I've been getting home from work rather late.  As a matter of fact, it is 6:48, and I only just got home, haven't eaten supper, and was waiting for a bus for over an hour in the freezing rain and wind!  Gotta go get a tea, then I'll be off to review YOUR story!  hee hee!

Very good chapter! I'm glad that it looks as if Severus' innocence will soon be an acknowledged fact.

And Minerva rocks! While no one can replace Dumbledore, one can certainly see that she will be an excellent headmistress for Hogwarts. Even Severus can't stand against her for long. And I love how concerned she is for Harry. I can imagine a real bond developing between the professors and the students who fought together.

    Thanks for the chapter!

    Author's Response:

If Shacklebolt had had his way, this interrogation would never have taken place.  I actually changed that scene a bit because I had forgotten that Scrimgeour had died!  Lesley pointed this out to me, and I rewrote a part of chapter three, as well as chapter four, before I had posted it.  I was going to originally leave it like that, but I decided that I preferred to keep the story as true to Canon as possible.   In reality, Shacklebolt stil has to answer to the members of the Wizengamot, and the Wizarding community, and if he had not followed procedure, and just declared Severus innocence without proof to substantiate the claim, then down the road it could have caused problems for Severus.  Better to have done it by the book!

Yes, Minerva is very fond of Harry, and Severus better watch out because she's become very protective of Harry!  Yes, how can you go through an ordeal such as that, and NOT bond! I loved writing that scene, because I thought that it would be interesting to see the ultimate Gryffindor manipulate the ultimate Slytherin!  I'm considering giving her a more prominent role in the story.  It is rare that Minerva is a main character.  What do you think?

Thanks again for your review, and when are you going to update Slave Child?  I'm anxiously awaiting the next chapter! ;)

    Thanks for the review

I like your Minerva. I hope you update soon, Mila

    Author's Response:

Yes, I love Minerva, and I think that, though she can be rather stern, she is going to be Harry's biggest champion, other than Ginny, Hermione and Ron, of course!

I just love how she has Snape wrapped around her little finger!  Not too many people can manage THAT!  ;)

*giggles* What a perfect scene. I am curious about Minerva's reaction. Mila

    Author's Response:

    Yeah, she's a little flustered...to say the least! ;)

If there is one person who can put Sev in his place...it's Minerva!  ;)

What a great row! I liked it, Mila

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  I really enjoyed writing it!  I love angst!

I know that there are those who are really peeved at Snape right now, but I love writing him nasty...I'm evil I know!  ;)

Hey...if things went TOO smoothly right away, then there wouldn't be much of a story...now would there? ;)

""one bloody person whom I trusted the most in the whole damned world"" ... always thought it was Hermione :-O Mila

    Author's Response:

Yes, of course he trusts Hermione, as he does Ron.  They are his best friends!  But Harry always considered Dumbledore a Mentor, a fatherly/grandfatherly sort of figure, and he feels enormously betrayed and hurt.

Wow, you know, Horcruxes are SO taboo, than nobody (known to me) dares to experiment with them. I am glad you do! Snape creating a Horcrux is a perfect idea. You may have big fun with experimenting how it changed Snape's character and behaviour (you see, I have that theory that Voldemort was just horribly ruthless, not devil before he started creating Horcruxes). I am really curious where you will lead your Snape.
    Liked the Dumble bashing.
    Mila

    Author's Response:

Thanks Mila!  But I can't take the credit for the idea, that belongs to Slytherlynx who issued the challenge.  I just had to respond to the challenge because I thought the idea was really creative and original.

I like the idea of exploring how a Horcrux can alter your personality, and how Dark Magic can play havoc with your soul.  The idea was so fascinating to me, and opened up many possibilities for the plot!

Sorry Dumbledore, but it IS fun to bash him a little.  But, despite that I still like Dumbledore, so I won't be too harsh with him!  ;)

    thanks for new chapter.
i hope ginny help harry because he to be in a depression.
and snape.i could understand he now angry but he learn about his son years ago also he hate his son.poor harry.

    Author's Response:

Ginny will help Harry through his turmoil, but I must warn you that they too will have ups and downs, but Ginny has loved Harry for a long time, and she will always be his rock.

By the time Snape had learned about Harry's relationship to him, he had already developed a hatred for him, that was so deep, it was hard to change his views of Harry.  In addition, Dumbledore had manipulated him into being a spy for the Light, and it would have been enormously dangerous for both Snape AND Harry, had their relationship come to light...so even if Snape had of begun to see Harry in a different light, he would have been unable to show it.  It is just as well that Harry hadn't known either because during fifth year, Voldemort was invading his thoughts, and Harry was having difficulty learning Occlumency.

After seventeen years of believing that your child is the child of your sworn enemy, it is going to take some time for Snape to soften towards Harry, but give it time and perhaps Snape will see what a great young man his son really is!

     Thanks for reviewing.

Now this is interesting. I do hope yo continue. I noticed you didn't mention Voldemort or his demise inthis, besides a reference to a Horcrux of his. That, and the fact that you didn't confirm that Severus is dead till near the end had me a bit thrown. But all in all, this was a good read. O look forward to reading more as you update. Keep it up!!!!

    Author's Response:

Oh, I'm sorry if that wasn't clear.  I thought I did mention Voldie's defeat when Harry was contemplating how much he had been through in the past couple of days.  I didn't mean to confuse you though. I hope though that you will continue to read and hopefully I will be a little more coherant in my writing.  It is my first attempt at writing a story, so I appreciate readers pointing out little things like that so that I can make sure that I avoid those pitfalls in the next chapter.

Thank you for taking the time to review, and hopefully your questions will be answered in the next couple of chapters.

Hey Dawn Just read chapters 2&3. I don't like the idea that Harry did resort to such dark magic, and that now he may have to fight the desire to do dark deeds for the rest of his life, and all for the sake of bringing an entirely ungrateful and still exceedingly hateful man back from the dead.

There is no softening of Snape whatsoever.

I am surprised that Snape's body was still in the shrieking shack...I would have thought t=one of the first things Harry would do, before taking a leisurely stroll back down memory lane, would have been to bring Snapes body back to the castle to be lain with all of the others who had fought for the side of the light.

I was glad to see that you bought Ginny into Harry's thoughts. I thought you might be leaving her out.

And how come Scrimgoeur is still alive...did you say somewhere that he would be? I couldn't see any notes to that effect. Kingsley was made interim MoM in canon. He would have been more sympathetic to Harry's claim that Severus is innocent.

Looking forward to what will happen next, though I think things are not going to go well for either Harry or Sev.

    Lesley

    Author's Response:

OOps!  You got me!  I completely forgot that Scrimgeour died!  Ok, well consider this a warning that Scrimgeour is back!  Yikes!  I guess I'd had better go back and reread DH!  Thanks for catching that! Actually, I suppose it is just as well that I made that error, because it just would have been too easy if Kingsley were the Minister, wouldn't it?  Is anything EVER easy in fanficland? ;)

Well, Harry went almost directly into the Pensieve after defeating Voldemort, because he was in shock, and felt a mixture of grief, happiness and lonliness.  He just wanted to see his parents and feel close to them.  Unfortunately, he got more than he bargained for!  Perhaps if Harry had not seen the memories, he would have thought to retrieve Snape's body immediately.  We do not always think clearly when we are in a state of shock.

Yes, Snape is a really ungrateful bastard in this story.  But, don't worry...he'll lighten up...eventually!  It will be a rocky road though, and Sev is a hard nut to crack.

Harry did take an awful risk in dabbling in Dark Magic, but we all know how impestuous Harry can be.  Gotta love him!  His only thought was to reward Snape for risking his life for him, and having loved his mother so deeply.  Unfortunately...Snape did not apprectiate the gift that he was given.

Yes Lesley, Ginny will play a major part in this story.  You and Tabitha have inspired me with your hot and heavy scenes between her and Harry. Although, I must warn you that Ginny will not be pleased at the transformation that Harry undergoes, and things will not be all rosy for the two.  But, they will eventually work out their differences! I'm a romantic at heart, after all! ;)

Phew, ok, I'm long-winded, aren't I?  Thanks for your review!  I'm looking forward to YOUR next updates on SS & the Muggle, and Shocking Discovery! ;)  Can't wait!
