    Ooh! Do keep going!

    Author's Response:

    Thank you!

I'll do my best to do just that! ;)

Another fantastic chapter! You've done such a wonderful job of getting into Severus' head and making him understandable, but I still feel so sorry for Harry.

And what an ending! Well, it'll be interesting to see how McGonagall responds.

    Author's Response:

Thank you Kristeh.  Coming from you, that is a compliment indeed!  I feel sorry for Harry too!  :)

As I said to someone else, Harry is in way over his head, and Severus' initial reaction, though harsh, is due to the fact that he has lost so much because of his poor judgement, when he was not much younger than Harry himself.  We all know that Snape is not the most demonstrative person, and much of his anger is really due to his fear for Harry.  He would never admit it though!

Hmmm...McGonagall's reaction, yes well...I think that she is in shock!  ;)

Great chapter again! I must have missed it when you first posted...sorry about that! I can understand why Snape is angry about Harry using dark magic, but I feel so sorry for Harry. He really wants a family and he had hope that maybe he and his father could start over. It's a rare and precious thing to have a second chance like that. I hope Snape will eventually come to realize that, too.

    Author's Response:

Thanks Kristeh!   I'm just honoured that you can even find the time to read MY story, when you must be spending so much time writing your own brilliant story, "Slave Child".  Yes, Harry has lost out on so much, and I think that although he claims that he brought Snape back to give Snape a second chance, that I think that deep down that Harry was hoping that he could have the family that he never had.

There are many events that will occur, that are going to make Snape do some serious soul-searching (ooh, look at that ...get it?  SOUL-SEARCHING, you know...SOUL?) Ok, I'll shut up now!   :)

BTW, I can't wait to read YOUR next update of Slave Child!  ;)

I think you've explained Severus initial reaction to Harry's bringing him back very well, and hopefully they can come to some kind of terms, especially since the Dark magic Harry used can be seductive and Severus would know best how to counter it. I think if the two of them are given a chance to spend some time with each other, they will eventually develop an understanding and affection for each other.

By the way I've just updated Shadows, in case you didn't realize it. :)

    Author's Response:

Thank you Snapegirl!  It's true that no one knows better than Snape that Dark Magic may seem mysterious and exciting, but it can destroy you.  Harry is going to need Snape's guidance soon, because he is in way over his head.  Snape is at a crossroads now; Voldemort is gone, and the path ahead is unclear to him.  There are so many possibilities in a world where he is free from the Dark Lords control.  Unfortunately, being a father is something that is totally foreign to Snape, and he did not have the best role model.  Then again... Harry doesn't know how to be someone's son either.  Maybe, they will teach each other.

Oh, thanks for letting me know that you've updated Shadows.  I just got home from work, so I haven't had a chance to read any of the other stories that are posted.  Well, I think I'll mosey right along and read it.  Then you can respond to MY wonderful review!  ;)

harry is feeling unwanted.its scared.because harry could try injure himself.if minerva or hermione talk to snape about dursleys maybe snape begin understand harry.poor boy he is very desperate

    Author's Response:

Yes...poor Harry.  Snape's reaction is rather harsh, but dabbling in Dark Magic could have serious consequences for Harry.  Harry is still young, and naive in so many ways, and he just doesn't understand the seriousness of what he's done.

Eventually, perhaps Snape will discover the difficulties that Harry has endured throughout his young life, and I'm certain that if Snape knew the treatment that Harry suffered at the hands of the Dursley's, particularly his uncle, well...let's just say that I would not want to be the Dursleys!  Snape and Harry have a rocky road ahead of them, but hopefully they will be able to learn to undestand one another.

Well, did we expect any different :) Good ole loveable Snape

    Author's Response:

Yes, Snape is true to character, isn't he?  What was Harry thinking by returning Snape from the Veil? Did he really think that Snape would show gratitude?  This is Snape we're talking about...

Gotta love the old grump though!  Maybe, just maybe...he'll get a teensy-weensy bit nicer...maybe!  ;)

Very interesting. Harry dealing with Dumbledore was great. There were so many times I just wanted to reach into the books and slap him!

Author's Response: Yeah, Harry was definitely angry with Dumbledore.  I always felt too, that Dumbledore should have made more of an effort to make sure that Harry as properly cared for at the Dursley's.   Yes...Dumbledore has played Harry and Snape like chess peices!  Thanks for taking the time to review, it means alot to me.

Well that didn't go at all well . . .but perhaps things will go better later on?

Author's Response: Well...Snape has had a tremendous shock, he just needs a bit of time.  Harry is really going to need him soon, and hopefully Snape will step up to the plate, and be there for his son, like he hasn't been in the past.  We'll just have wait to see if Snape will soften up, won't we?  ;)

Snape is such a bastard. He practically begged Harry to bring him back when he was dying. And NOW he yells at the kid for it, for doing what he asked. Jerk.

Author's Response: Yeah, Snape is not necessarily a nice guy in this story.  However...as time goes on, he will come to see Harry in a differnt light.  He was just really angry at Harry for using Dark Magic to bring him back.  But then again...Snape has never been known to be the most reasonable person.  Right now, Snape is in shock, and feels cheated that he didn't get to be reunited in death with Lily, and of course he blames Harry for this.  Given time though, he will be drawn to Harry, because Harry is so much like Lily; once Snape can get past his prejudices, of course.

this is really good after reading all seven books i too thought dumbledore was a manipulative bastard, and had wished for a better ending, I hope this story has a better ending , great work

Author's Response: Thank you. I too was very upset with how J.K. Rowling ended her series, and wished for a better ending; in particular, one where Snape didn't die!  I had also really wished that she had had Snape turn out to be Harry's father.  Alas, I can't change Canon, but I can give it my own spin, can't I?  As I responded to someone else, while I will not change Snape's basic character, (because I love him snarkey!) he will gradually begin to see Harry as his son, and not the person that he was conditioned to hate.
