In some states it's illegal to leave a child alone until age 10, which Harry would not have known, but even he was left with Mrs. Figg instead of being left alone. Thirteen is probably an average starting age for female babysitters. Not to be sexist, but a 13 year old boy is unlikely to be as mature as a 13 year old girl, so this story is probably realistic. A good public service message.
Doesn't matter what I say this early on, seeing as you've already updated. :P You still make things too short *giggles*.
Author's Response: Yeah, but at least you get to read the next chapter without waiting, right??
Poor harry and poor Mia and Rosie too! I hope Severus realizes how badly harry feels, that's as good as any punishment he can dish out. But he might make Harry help take car eof Mia and Rosie and maybe figure out how the potion exploded.
Author's Response: Good idea, he's going to need help and knowing what went wrong is important too.
So happy to see the new story up, love these character. You have started with a bang literally. Poor little Mia and Rosie, but Mia has learnt the hard way. Harry is punishing himself more than his dad could; whatever punishment Sev gives him has to be firm enough so that Harry’s guilt will be alleviated.
Author's Response: yes, she has and I don't think she'll be touching anything down in the lab for awhile, poor thing! Harry is a wreck over this, but he will learn from it, and Severus senses this. You'll see what he says to Harry next chapter.
Aw, I feel really bad for Harry!
Yikes, I don't know what kind of punishment Sev should give him. I think that he's already punished himself. Maybe take away his broom for awhile. I don't know if that would be too harsh though, considering that the boy is already feeling so badly.
I know Sev will do what he thinks is fair.
Hurry and update, I want to see if Rosie and Mia are going to be ok, and Harry, gulp, too!
Author's Response: You're right, Harry is shredding himself over this and hopefully Severus will realize this . . .he knows his son by now. Thanks for reviewing!
Awesome!!!!!! Can't wait for more. Keep up the great job.
Author's Response: Thanks! Good to see you're reviewing again!
Really, I don't think Sev needs to do anything with Harry. It's obvious that Harry will be more responsible about watching children in the future. He didn't realize what could happen if he didn't pay attention--now he knows and his guilt complex isn't going to let it go. I think he's learned his lesson.
Great chapter--Snape was really mean, but I would expect that under stress. Please update soon!
-P.G.
Author's Response: Yes, Severus was a bit harsh, but he was in shock, and that's how he reacts sometimes. As for Harry, he will bear the guilt for this for a long time, and you'll see what happens between him and Sev next chapter
personally i think it should be leniant....what ever he chooses...he's learned his lesson.
great story by the way!
Author's Response: yes, he certainly has, Sev will take that into account when he issues his decree too. Thanks, Amy!

Wow. Maybe Harry should be put in line-of-sight supervision for awhile since he can't be trusted to look after anyone else, he shouldn't be trusted to look after himself. Plus having to stick close to Sev or Remus will help them monitor his grieving and guilt and prevent him from doing anything rash.
Thanks for the update. I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: Now there's an interesting punishment. And it just might work, since Severus should keep an eye on him for awhile, to make sure he's all right.
Aww poor Harry, he must have felt awful for being so irresponsible! it cant have been fun to see Mia and Rosie hurt because of his actions, I cant wait to see how Sev is going to punish him for his not thinking : )
Author's Response: He does and Severus knows that very well, he'll have something appropriate in mind.
