I'm hooked!!! You put the forshadowing in there and started things off fast anf furious. Too bad Harry's a hard nut to crack and things have to get worse before they can get better. I'm surprised to see a relatively intelligent Headmaster. But if he is so 'with it', how come he left Harry there to be abused so badly??? Most people follow canon and have Harry so isolated that he is generally clueless about people and the world in general. From the conversations, thoughts, vocabulary, and coping skills and strategies--your Harry is anything BUT.
