You have created a very interesting Harry. He's much more defiant and untrusting of adults than in canon, but this of course is entirely believable and probably more realistic for an abused child. Your Snape is very canon. I couldn't believe that Snape felt that he had fulfilled his mentorship "talk" responsibilities by telling Harry to come to him whenever he needed help, but also threatening Harry with copious punishments. Only Snape could do this!!
And your cliffie is an awful one! lol

Wow, that was hard to read. In a good way, of course. I really like this story. It's different, in a way that has me intrigued. I love the thoughts swirling around in both of their heads. And even when I'm thinking Harry is too angry, I realize he's really not since it's mostly pretending, even to himself, that he's a tough guy. Poor kid. I really hope there's an emotional breakdown in his future. Stories with an abused Harry are so prevalent, but this one strikes me like the others don't. It's unique, though I can't quite explain why. It's quite good. And I love your Snape. Anyway, sorry for rambling. Great work. Can't wait for more.
