Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
What. WHAT. -flail- because of this, I'm not going to give you a Full Review for an entire...day. HA. anyhow, in mind of my limited space of time, Hermione at the beginning was very Hermione-y. Also you should name the next chapter 'Gryfferins' 'cause that's so cool. Author's Response: LOL sorry. I'll do my best to get the chapter up when I get a chance, but I can't promise anything. Hence the warning. I'll keep Gryfferins in mind. I name chapters based on what's actually in the text, so it has to have context, but I will see. :-) Thanks for the review! (Even if it was a bit vindictive.)
I love that Harry is starting slowly to see Snape as more than just someone who tells him what to do,even if he needs a little push to see it. I'm just worried though that if Snape does eventually use corporal punishment on Harry, that the trust that they're beginning to develop will be broken, since Harry's abuse was so severe. Good luck with school, and I hope that you settle in nicely. Can't wait to read more of Harry saying "anything"! Author's Response: Thanks!! No worries - I agree with you about the CP thing, and am working on it. (If it happens, it'll be when both characters are good and ready, trust me.) Thanks for your good wishes- I leave today for school, and am really excited to see my friends again. LOL Harry's tongue unleashed!! :0) Thanks for the review.
Author's Response: YAY!! Glad you like it!! I, too, am glad that things seem to be settling down a bit. (We'll have to see how the sessions with Snape go, though...) :-)
Author's Response: EXACTLY!! I was like, dude, quills DRIP, inkwells SPILL, and parchment is EXPENSIVE. Get out of the dark ages already, peoples!! Did you know that parchment is a type of prepared, stretched, animal skin? (Generally sheep or goat). The stuff is REALLY expensive, and gets eaten by everything under the sun. Totally impractical. LOL excuse my rant. Thanks for reviewing! :-)
yours Mica Author's Response: LOL no problem - I fixed it. I totally understand your difficulty - word choice is a real big one for me, too, so I totally appreciate your comment. The term 'semester' was most natural to me, because Hogwarts' term schedule is quite similar to the college semester system in the US - we (generally)have 2 semesters - fall and spring - with long breaks on either side - winter and summer. We also have shorter breaks in between for things like Thanksgiving. For example, my school's (Swarthmore's) fall term starts in September and goes until mid-December, and spring term starts in mid-January and goes until late May. We therefore get a month off at Xmas and 3 months off in the summer. I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter, and hope you continue to enjoy as I go along. :-)
Author's Response: Yay!! Glad you liked it!! I figured Harry's kid side had to come out at some point, and all kids play. :-)
Author's Response: LOL yeah that was partially inspired by a webcomic - look up 'ballpit' on xkcd for it. Dude that's what I would do, faced with the room of requirement, let alone an 11-year-old. I also figured that since Harry (and Blaise, actually) talks like an adult, he ought to act more like a child in other ways. All kids play. :-) Thanks for the review!
Thank you for the chapter, introducing the room of requirement here was really good ^_^ Author's Response: Yeah, I feel worse for Sev than for McGonagall, but she's putting a lot of effort in, too. I'm glad you like the room of requirement - I was thinking like 'hmm...you're supposed to have neutral territory for this sort of thing (discussions, therapy, whatever)...where in Hogwarts would work as private neutral territory? And, as you saw, came up with the room of requirement. Thanks for the review!!!
Author's Response: thanks!! |
