This was a rather depressing chapter! But I do like it, anyway. Gah, poor Severus. It must be sooo frustrating when it seems as though he isn't even getting through to the boy.

    *shakes head*

Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah, I know that chapter's depressing. :0)

I really liked this chapter. It was very dramatic. Keep up the good work and please update ASAP. :)

Author's Response: Glad you liked! The next bit should be out relatively soon - It's already 16 pages long and I would normally publish it now, but I was originally planning to get to a certain point in this chapter, so it may end up being the 30-page-chapter-from-hell in which case it'll be another week or two. :0)

Depressing's good actually - depressing means they're getting somewhere ^^
And I love the way you ended this chapter, that message is just so very Severus ^^
I think the was you're portraying Harry - especially his fear of Severus getting close - really really well and I'm looking forward to reading more so I hope you can update soon ^^

Author's Response: :0) Heee thanks. Your review made me smile. :0) I'm already ten pages into the next chapter, so with any luck, it'll be out soon. (The only reason it wouldn't be is 'cause it looks like it's going to be LONG and I'm entering exam week.) Thanks for the review, and glad you like it!! Rhiannan

At least Severus warned Dumbledore about the very real danger that the Dursleys are in, though in a way I wish he hadn't! xD What scares me most is that Harry actually seems to WANT to go back to them. I guess he just doesn't think that anyone else would care enough to take him in..he just can't fathom it. I think Severus needs to consider taking him in.

    Great chapter!

Author's Response: LOL, yeah. I know exactly how you feel. And Harry's an idiot, but then we people generally get attached to our families regardless of how they treat us. Honestly I find 'canon' Harry unrealistic in this respect. I could see him not wanting to see them OFTEN, but at all? I still visit my Dad and he's not an easy person to get along with, either. *shrug* Anyway, thanks for the review! Glad you like the chapter!

Much love with this chapter!! Harry calls himself Freak and Snape didn't call him on that or react at all, which surprised me a little, so I'd suggest you add either Snape or Harry remembering that Harry's not supposed to call himself that. N grammar mistake with the line "Maybe he should just keeping talking" but other than that you're clear.Much love with the chapter, skype me, all my love, Thing2

Author's Response: Hey chicky!! Why didn't you sign in? Don't you have an account on P+S? And I did notice that Snape didn't react, but it didn't seem appropriate at the time for him to do so. I'll have Snape think about it, though - that'll make it more clear that he DECIDED not to react. And lol with the keeping talking. I think I'll just keeping editing. It seems muching with the needing.

depressing? Maybe a bit, but well written and quite nessisary! Well done. An excellent move forward of your story and the "understanding" of Sev.

Looking forward to your next update.

Author's Response: Yey! Thanks! I'm glad you thought it was good - there were a couple of people who didn't like this chapter and kinda killed my confidence in it. :0( But then people like you came along and said it was good, so much yeys! Thanks! Rhiannan

I don't find the chapter depressing-- progress is often messy and rarely simple. The fact that Snape and Harry made it through a lesson that made Harry so nervous is great. I'm a little surprised that Harry has much loyalty to the Dursely's, but he clearly hasn't imagined being offered a safe home. Looking forward to the next chapter....

Author's Response: I'm not surprised, because that is generally how it goes - we remove children from abusive households, and they cry for their mommies. (Think about it - Stockholm syndrome can take hold in as little as 2 months when an ADULT is forcefully kidnapped. Now imagine a child BORN into an abusive household and living there for their entire life.) We are designed to make connections to the people we live with, no matter how much we dislike them. That's sorta what I'm going for with Harry. Thanks for the review! Rhiannan
