Excellent! Just wanted to peek my head out of lurkdom long enough to say that. You have really built the characters and plot well, so that when Snape and Harry get to the point they arrive at in this chapter, the growth of their relationship is believable and their actions/reactions truly poignant. I also like your portrayal of the relationship between your Dumbledore and Snape. If Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat isn't the best of its genre, it certainly is way up there on the list. I always get a bit excited to see it on the Recent list.

that was a good chapter. Snape was fabulous, as usual. Kallie was cool. I almost wished he had been suspended so that I could see what he was like in Snape's quarters, but in the same breath I think that the punishment seemed like a lot. Maybe. Or I just really like harry. He's cute.

Well he got off very lightly but I'm sure his friends will say their piece to him. Good chapter with Severus acting slighlty OC when finding Harry which has given him thoughts

A very enjoyable chapter-- who can resist kitten time? I kept expecting to find out the kitten had grabbed on and came with them when they apperated (it's a weird purple thing after all). Severus is really transforming into a parent-- it feels very realistic and I think it's as cute as Albus and Minerva obviously think it is. Harry is making some definate progress. That slap in the face was horrible, but in some ways so much better than the lie he was telling himself.

Author's Response: LOL I would point out that crookshanks is orange, not purple. LOL angry kitty. She's modeled off one of my cats, when he was a kitten. He was completely feral when we got him, 'cause some old lady had been keeping him in a birdcage, but didn't know the first thing about how to gentle a kitten, but he was so tiny that by the time he was an adult it didn't matter. It was hilarious, though - you'd go into the room where he was and he'd get really mad and hiss and spit at you all over the place...but he was so tiny that even the hiss didn't make any noise, so it just looked like he was making faces. It was adorable. :0) Anyway glad you liked the chapter, and thanks for the review!!
A part of me wishes that Petunia could have proved to have at least a little bit of a heart, but no she had to be a nasty old biddy instead. Poor Harry! He just wants to be loved and was unfortunate enough to be placed with unnatural people instead of a loving family. I hope that he and Severus will be able to work through their problems and soon, so that something like this can be avoided in the futured.
