Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
What's it going to take? And how long is it going to take. Whatever, I am enjoying the ride very much. I was also impressed with how Sev handled Draco. Lesley~ Author's Response: Thanks, Lesley! Yeah Harry's just a tad stubborn, don't you think. :-)
I am not sure I like the sound of Harry having curly hair, no matter what length. LOL> He really isn't Harry, is he, if he is going to keep his hair different for long periods of time. Great chapter though. Beautifully written. Lesley~ Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah Sev is starting to figure it out, I think. I think he mostly got to Harry first, 'cause he was on top, and got distracted when Harry freaked. You've read the other chapter by now, so you know Malfoy gets his, later. :-) No worries about the hair! Harry'll be playing with it a fair amount. :-)
This was great. I love the little internal monologues from both protagonists. Snape is being very patient and HArry is slowly, very slowly weakening against the strict kindness being offered (or shoved down his throat, more like). Kindness from an adult is an unknown quantity and Harry is very, very distrustful. I love how Harry gained himself a house-elf and I love your take on how a house-elf gets a name. Lesley~ Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah I think 'shoved down his throat' is pretty accurate...poor Harry is fairly certain he doesn't want any kindness from adults.
“Oh, hello Blaise.” " I. LOVE. BLAISE. Not Harry or Draco or Snape (who are all brilliant in their own rights, but whatever) BUT BLAISE IS SO COOL. anyhow. that's it. update-now-please. -poke- -poke- -poke- Author's Response: LOL Wait a couple days, it'll be up. I'm glad you like Blaise. So do I :-)
I would give you Feedback Cookies but all I have are sugar-free butterscotch candies I (accidentally) stole from my grandmother. -offers- No? All right then. ..'m gonna read the chapter now. Author's Response: LOL. I like your pre-read review. :-)
Author's Response: No, it's not. I'm not a big fan of fanfiction.net (for reading) so so far I haven't gotten it there. I might in the future.
I even liked how Draco felt ashamed when Sev scolded him, but I'm worried about what will happen next. I don;t thionk it'd be a good thing for Harry to act up in Snape's class . . . Author's Response: Yeah I definitely feel bad for Snape in this chapter. I feel bad for Malfoy, too, though. Snape's so hard on him.
so glad you updated! Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, that's how I feel. Poor, sad, stupid Harry! And poor Snape - he's trying so hard!
One more point, not that it matters much but: Why is it that every Snape-Harry story has to have Draco as Snape's godson - is this some type of rule lol? I hate it personally, always seems to ruin the Snape-Harry dynamic to me. It never fails that as soon as I'm drawn into the story, here comes poor pureblood Draco looking for sympathy and needing Snape also. I just feel that Harry deserves Snape to himself and I hate that he has to share him, especially with a spoiled kid who already has his own parents. Author's Response: Thanks! I'm sorry you don't like the Draco thing. I thought about it for a bit, and it just made sense, to me. I also have some (very long term) plans for Draco that require him to have at least some relationship with Snape. I doubt it'll ever be as important as Harry has, though, so hopefully it won't bother you too too much.
Author's Response: Thanks. I try, with Harry. I was a bit like him when I was 11ish - vacillating between way too mature and still a child. |
