Reviews For Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat
And he is a metamorphmagus and obviously quite powerful too. I always thought he must have metamorphmagi tendencies because he could make his hair grow back when Petunia practically shaved his head. I am surprised that Severus didn't just request that Minerva enter Gryffindor Common room and bring Harry out when he suspected he ws in there. I am not sure Minerva would aid and abet a student in his continuing flaunting of a teacher's direct orders...nor Dumbledore for that matter. Certainly not to the extent they have ignored Harry's blatant disobedience, even if they find it amusing. Still, it made for a very amusing scenario, but now Harry has to pay the piper. I wonder how Severus will react to Harry's injuries AND his prodigious powers. Can't wait to see. I will be putting this on my story alert list. Lesley~ Author's Response: Thanks so much!! rnrnAbout Minerva and Albus- Minerva is not actively hiding Harry so much as quietly not noticing. It's mostly just Severus' perception that she's actively hiding him. She doesn't spend much time in the Gryffindor common rooms. She's also in a (relatively friendly and teasing) rivalry with Snape, and so enjoys watching him get bested by an 11-year-old, especially one of his own. She also doesn't appreciate his always blaming Gryffindors for trouble, so seeing one of his own causing so much is a vindictive pleasure for her. rnrnAlbus likes how the two rival houses are coming together over the issue, and goes for the "greater good". Then, since he's decided to leave it alone, he also decides, like Minerva, to enjoy it. Both figure that Snape can handle it perfectly well on his own, which, of course, he does.
What a cliffhanger! I do hope that you are able to update soon. I increased the rating for your story from K+ to 16+ because Harry curses a whole lot. It's not really appropriate to have the story rated K+ if he does that, because K+ means that the story is okay for Elementary students. 16+ means more like 16 year olds and up. Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah sorry again about the cliffie. I do try to avoid them. rnrnThanks for changing the rating for me. You're absolutely correct and I should've realized that before.
Author's Response: Thanks! I thought so, too. It never made sense to me that Harry would be angry in the 5th and 6th books but never before. Having a rough childhood like Harry dealt with (even in canon) makes a child grow up FAST. I never particularly liked Canon Harry because he grew up in a situation a bit like mine was, but seemingly suffered no emotional problems from it. It was like as soon as he got to Hogwarts he became a sweet, tractable, loving, trusting child, when he'd had no reason to be so before that. I'd think that he'd EXPECT Severus' reaction to him as a matter of course, and be surprised by love and protection from adults, rather than vica versa. Anyway, thanks for your review!
Author's Response: Thanks! I like that, too. It gets better...
Glad Ron is still his friend. And Severus really does nee to remember that he is an adult in a position of authority and not a bullying contemporary of an 11 year old. Author's Response: Yeah, he'll get there. He just gets into "angry 17-year-old" mode when it comes to Harry, at least for the moment.
And Harry even hates the Gryffindor colours...far too garish. Oh, well...no doubt he will hate Gryffindors too. He had no thoughts when Ron WAS sorted into Gryffindor. Author's Response: LOL sorry I forgot to respond to this. Yeah I can't imagine living in an entire room of red and yellow...I'd feel like I was at the circus or something. (Though I'd point out you were wrong about his attitude towards Lions) :-)
Author's Response: Thanks! In answer to your question, possibly. I like Potions and Snitches' format better, but I'll probably get there. |
