Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: Thank you! This fic surprised me much less everyone else.
I love the relationship between Harry and James, and Harry and Severus. I love that both men want to claim Harry as their own. I love that Severus has been a spy and that he gave the ledger over to the resistance, and now he knows that Harry can fulfill the prophecy and defeat Voldemort...if he can survive long enough. But with Severus and James on his side, I bet he can, though it might be tricky with the bit about the Cruciatus curse. But still, I don't want Harry to be able to cast that horrible, evil spell. Did I read that you're going to write a sequel? I hope so cause I would dearly love to read it! Author's Response: Thank you! it was going to be much more conventional when I chose the challenge, but the more I played around with the ramifications of Harry being seen as Snape's son, the more it wanted to go dystopian on me. I actually have fun with Harry and the Cruciatus curse, and I hope my solution meets your approval. I was actually really really pissed at JKR when she had the trio casting Unforgivable curses in DH. Writing the interactions between these three characters was a lot of fun, and I want to keep building onto this universe. Yes, you heard right! I intend to write three sequels and two prequels to this story.
~Frosty Author's Response: i'm already planning to continue this with three sequels and two prequels. I'm glad this has generated so much interest.
Author's Response: Thanks! I really really need to write Lily more often, she's such a wonderful unknown. The little James voice in my head that goes meta at me hates me for that secetary bit, but I'm glad I put it in. I intend to write two prequels and three sequels, so don't worry, you get to find out.
The ending feels quite open though. I think it's because we don't really get to see what Harry thinks about the whole thing. I do like that last scene though--it was reassuring. Nice work! -P.G. Author's Response: Thanks! I do just love to pour on the angst, don't I? I'm glad I didn't throw you out of the story reading that, seeing as I don't think Snape was given much choice either. I know I'm the queen of mean Snape, but really, even my Snape's not that mean! They actually like each other, much that it shows. Gven that there are going to be sequels, I sure hope the ending feels open!
I was wondering when I read the summary if I was going to like the idea of Harry being James' not Sev's son, but you have written it so beautifully and put so much emotion into it, how can I not love it! Author's Response: Good to know I'm not the only diehard drooling Severitus/Sevitus fan on here, but given the site... lol. Gah, my Snape's mean, but he's not that mean, he could never reject Harry! I'm glad I sold you on the idea even if you weren't sure to start.
Author's Response: Thank you, I intend to. In fact, I'm already writing a prequel, and I have plans for another prequel and three sequels.
But even in this world, Severus loves Lily and Harry. Author's Response: Very very much.
I love that James and Severus had to come to an understanding over Harry, and that Severus still considers Harry his son. Great job on the AU world. You really made it quite interesting. Author's Response: I know, I sort of shoved Lily into a refrigerator didn't I? Bad Attackfish, bad bad bad. I plan to play around a bit more in this particular AU, I hope I can keep it interesting.
