So the fireworks begin... I'm looking forward to the conversation with Molly and the upcoming Order meeting. Knowing Molly, I'm guessing the Headmaster is in for one of her infamous howlers.

    Brilliant chapter!!

I just love seeing Dumbledore's little "secrets" and manipulations just crumble piece by piece. (evil smirk)

Great chapter again! I feel badly for Harry trying to study and complete his work when he feels so poorly. Of course Minerva means well, but I don't think Harry is really able to give his best effort to school work right now.

Of course Severus is going to feel horribly guilty, the poor man. What a tough situation he was in way back then, though. He truly thought he was doing what was best for Harry, but now to know that it wasn't, that Harry suffered because of his decision is going to haunt him.

And Severus is very brave to face Molly's wrath, lol!

I can't wait for him to tell Harry about their relationship!

    Author's Response:

Thanks! Harry isn't up for doing his best with school work at the moment, but in some ways it's good for him. He's used to studying with his teachers and while he might not feel up to it, studying and learning is normal to him and between everything going on he needs some normalcy in his life.

If Sev didn't have enough guilt to carry, he now has this. We'll be exploring how this affects both Severus and Harry and their feelings surrounding that one choice. And yes, Sev is very brave to face Molly's wrath. lol. ;)

I think I'm definitely in abstinence... Hope you'll update soon! I can't wait for the rest of the story!

Author's Response: Now that my fest fic is basically finished minus the revision, I have more time to focus on this story. :) I hope to get it out by the end of the week, but we'll see how it goes. Thanks!

Oh my GOD! I just discovered this story on a prance through the archives here, looking for something good to read whilst awaiting my other current reads to update. I have been reading this nonstop (in favor or much-needed-doing studying and papers, I might add) for the last few days whenever I have the chance. It is SOOO GOOD!!! This is definitely on my all-time Top Ten Favorites. :D

Please, PLEASE keep updating! I have to say, the whole biological father subject was rather unexpected, in particular the reasoning behind it. I was wondering how you were going to pull that one off, since there are only a few good ways to do it, and most are overused. I've not seen your choice before, something that warms my heart. For I have read many, MANY FanFiction stories of all genres and pretty much seen 'em all. I can't wait to see Harry's reaction! On the one hand, he could feel betrayed by his father, Dumbledore and everyone else for keeping this from him and agreeing to give him up. On the other, he may also feel relieved to not only have a true father, and a biological one at that, but also that his growing feelings are not baseless. I do hope and ask though that you do not have him assent too easily to the entire thing. I.E., "Oh my gosh how could you DO that? Well, I guess it's okay, 'cause now I've got a real dad. Yay, you're my Dad! I LOVE YOU!" I don't think you'd do that, based on your previous writings, but I suggest that you beware of that trap. ;)

Oo, which also brings me to the point of what is Harry now going to call him??? *evil grin* I can't see him calling him "Dad" too easily, at least at first, making for lots of angst!!!! Whoot! (I live for angst, couldn't ya tell? ;))

Avidly awaiting your next release! *twists hands anxiously*
Is it there yet? (five mins later) Is it there yet? (five mins later) Now? (Two minutes later) NOOOOOWWWWWW?........
    Don't keep us hanging long!

    Author's Response:

    Thanks so much!

I, too, have read probably too much fanfic, and I try to steer away from the "patterns" that turn into somewhat of a cliche as much as possible because I like to twist things up. I'm glad you're enjoying my story, and yay for being in your Top Ten of all time. :) Sometimes you do happen to stumble upon good things.

I think Harry's reaction will prove to be interesting. Don't worry he won't assent too easily. He'll go through a wide variety of emotions, and I just hope Sev won't lose his patience with him. Harry won't be calling Sev dad right away. I think it'll take some time for both of them to adjust and if a child never remembers calling anyone dad I bet it's even harder to start using the term. After all, dad to Harry is like a foreign concept and word.

As far as updating goes *sighs* I'm in a bit of a writing rut. My inspiration has fled me for a bit, but don't worry an update will hopefully be posted by the end of the week. I just need to get my prompt fest fic out of the way first before I turn to the next chapter of this. However, it's likely I'll be stuck at home all day tomorrow and Tuesday because of Hurricane Ida, so I should be gaining writing time. :) Yay.

PS: I hope you didn't fail anything because you were too busy reading. I'm flattered that was the case, but as Severus would say your education is important (Not from me because I'm the worst possible procrastinator, but I have actually started studying for my GRE! Go me! lol). Thanks again!

Ah yes, the infamous cliffhanger. How we all love to leave them, but never like to recieve them. This was an excellent cliffy Ella! I'm not even that mad about it cuz I just know Dumbles plans are gunna backfire on him now! *evil evil grin* Hahaha! How I shall laugh when Albus finds out! ^-^

"crusty eye junk"- I liked this because that's what I call them and it just kinda made be smile. had a bad day (again) and I needed to read something like that! :D
"he looked forward to shocking the man and messing up his real-life chessboard."- TAKE THAT DUMBLES!! I can't WAIT 'til Sev starts messing this up too! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Oh!! This is gunna be so good! I can't wait to see what Molly does and then what Severus does and then what Dumbledore does! And when is Harry going to find out that Snape's his father? I can't wait! Update as soon as you can please! Wonderful chappie!! ^_^

    Author's Response:

Yay, someone actually didn't mind the cliffy too much. :)

Dumbledore is totally going to have his plans backfire on him. It's going to be fun to write. I'm sure Sev's temper has been lying in wait, just waiting for an excuse to explode.

I'm happy that little reference made you smile. I've been having a rather exhausting and stressful week. Well, I worked/had class six days in a row and then by Monday when I had a complete day off I was just emotionally exhausted, so I've been kinda chilling the past few days. Well, except for last night where I had a mini-freak out realizing that it's already November and my grad school applications need to be in soon. I thought I'd need to write a paper to send in to some of them, but thankfully it's not as bad as I thought. Most of the deadlines are a few weeks later than I thought, and I started my GRE studying this week with a bit more of success than I initially thought. Now, I just need to continue my GRE studying and figure out what scenes/excerpts I want to use for my fiction submissions.

As you can guess by this reply, the chapter hasn't even been started yet. *sighs* I hope to work on it some tonight if Game 6 of the World Series doesn't last all night.

*** wondering about the proxy and what would happen to Harry if the Ministry decides to countermand Snape's orders regarding the chemo (even if the Ministry didn't realize that the patient in question is actually Harry Potter). Hope that gets dealt with in the next chapter! /// Sorry for the 2-part review: my cell phone had issues with the length of my commentary! GREAT WRITING ON YOUR PART! I'll look forward to the next chapter! (& now I'll give my poor thumbnails a rest... :-) ! )

Whoa!!! And WHOA again! Just finished chaps 24 & 25; think I held my breath all the way through both of them again! (Think of me as your blue-faced fan! ;-D !!!) Actually, the chapters weren't too long to read, and that's from someone who doesn't have a computer! I'm reading on my pay-as-you-go mobile internet cell phone, which can handle about 7,000 words without wide-screening the text. (WITH wide-screen, I get 13-14,000 words, but I gotta scroll back & forth across every line of text!) You're doing fine with length-- great, detailed development is what I live for! /// I just read all the reviews for 24/25, wondering if anyone else had commented on something that seems to be missing: I had assumed that when Severus Prince went to the Ministry, he would be dealing with the medical proxy situation, making sure to give Severus Snape permission to make medical decisions for Hadrian via the proxy. The other details (the waiting room, the lock box, the letter, etc.) were handled beautifully, but I kept ***

    Author's Response:

Okay let's see if I can remember the other review, so I can review them at the same time.

Yes, please breathe. It's essential for functioning. ;) I do need to deal with the new legal issues the revelation brought up. Although now it's easier since Severus does have full parental rights. He really doesn't need to do anything in regards to that, but a new set of forms may need to be signed. It won't be dealt with next chapter, since the Order meeting will take up the whole chapter if not part of the one after that, too, but I'll be sure to address that soon. A super, extra thanks goes to you since I know how much of a pain it can be when it comes to typing on a cell. :)

Wow...sorry for the long wait in reviewing this chapter...life's been crazy with Grandma and Kohl's...sigh....anyways...

I feel a tad sorry for Minerva as she is totally clueless in how to handle Harry, she tried so hard but did the wrong things. ("She had insisted, more like demanded, he eat more than a few spoonfuls of oatmeal, which of course just came back up less than an hour later, and then proceeded to give him the last Transfigurations lecture he had missed since he had been in the Hospital Wing.") Ghh...that would be annoying. I know it will be some rough times ahead, but I hope that Harry will forgive Snape for his serious lack of judgement years ago. Like my comment about Minerva, he did what he thought was right at the time but now knows better. I can't inmagine the guilt he must feel now.

"If he wasn't, he'd find someone magical who was even if he had to resort to the use of the Imperius curse to convince people to get tested. There wouldn't be a question if they could find a match when and if it came time for Harry to need a transplant, not if Severus had anything to do with it." Aww already the protective Dad, though in a sense, he's been that for a while now.

""Hand me the needle," Severus demanded. Poppy placed a new needle into his hand. "Hold my arm steady and be ready with the collection phials. " LOL, sometimes you gotta do it yourself if you want something to be done right! Reminds me of when I was being tested for Luekemia and the nurse at the blood lab I had to go to get four phiels of blood taken didn't do it right and then later also lost the BLOOD...not the results...but the BLOOD and I had to get six more phiels taken that night at the hospital...I wasn't a happy camper and very close to grabing the needle...anyways...

I loled at this part, "Severus reached over to pull the hood of his hoodie up over his head, extending it over his eyes." Aww, that was cute, Severus playing a bit.

"The wolf was passed out and right in front of the floo, a display considered most uncouth in wizarding society." Naughty Remus! I know he's probably most depressed, lossing a great friend but naughty naughty!

""What?" Mrs. Weasley roared, her face reddening to match her hair." Yikes, I would NOT want to be in Molly's way! Is she mad at Severus, or just really concerned? I know she feels as though she was lied too.

""And they call you a Gryffindor," Severus called after the child, lifting up his glass of water. "If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were a Slytherin."

"The Hat tried to place me there," Harry called back, his amused voice echoing off the stone walls.

"What?" he choked on his water. Harry was almost a Slytherin?" I would have LOVED to have seen that scene, lol...

    Questions:

-why did Harry's scar bleed earlier? (lol, I think I've brought this up before)

-Is the Order meeting really gonna be the next chapter? (hehe hint hint)

-I know the treatments aren't necessarily the same time, but will Harry have to undergo Radioaction in addition to chemo?

-lastly, are you only updating on Thursdays now? I see that's been a pattern of late, and was curious.

Thanks and until next time, later.

-Is Harry ever going to let his friends visit (I know he feels confused and uneasy at the moment and rightly so)?

    -

    Author's Response:

I know what you mean about life being crazy. Has Kohl's started to shift into Holiday gear like Old Navy has? We just started a new logistics process and our shipments have been larger than normal. *sighs*

Minerva is trying her best. I think Harry recognizes that, he just isn't comfortable enough to really speak up about what he needs yet and I'm not really sure he even knows what he needs. I think Harry will forgive Severus, though maybe not right away. Severus is feeling tremendous guilt right now, and I think Harry's forgiveness will be the only thing that'll help.

Yes, he's becoming a protective dad quickly. :)

The nurse lost your blood?! Omg, I'd be so angry.

Remus was very naughty. I imagine seeing one passed out as soon as you get there through the floo would be a horrible display of manners. First impressions mean a lot after all.

I don't think Molly is necessarily mad at Severus. She's a mix of concerned and angry at Dumbledore.

Yay, I'm happy to hear you loved that scene with Harry revealing he was almost a Slytherin.

Ugh, I keep meaning to revisit Harry's bleeding scar but I always forget, probably because it's not a huge deal. Thank you for reminding me yet again. ;)

Yes, the Order meeting really will be in the next chapter. lol.

I have no plans for Harry to undergo radiation (radioaction) in addition to chemo. One, I think that's one treatment wizards/witches would think extremely strange, and also there's a lot more risks and potential long-term side effects with radiation. In leukemia, radiation is mostly used on the spinal cord/brain and Harry will continue to receive intrathecal chemo instead.

As far as updates goes, late, late Wednesday night/Thursday mornings seem to be the new pattern though it's not necessarily my defined choice. The combination of work and class has been kicking my butt from Thursdays to Sundays lately, so I usually don't get to start on the next chapter til Sunday night or Monday. I always try to finish it Wednesday night since Thursdays are rather full with work, Grey's Anatomy, and Project Runway. lol.

Yes, Harry will see his friends soon. I think the first step to that is allowing Molly to visit with him. He is feeling confused, uneasy, and just uncomfortable in his own skin right now, but he's starting to come to terms with his cancer and that's a huge step in "facing the world." Thanks!

    Wonderful story!

Dumbledore is about to get into a world of trouble and he certainly deserves it. According to the information that he found in the box at the Ministry, Severus was supposed to be informed of the truth of Harry's heritage if he was possibly dying. His cancer could kill him, so he should have been informed. Dumbledore is obviously hiding the truth from Severus for reasons other than that promise. I have a bad feeling that he will do just about anything to make sure that his precious prophesy comes to fruition and the thought sickens me. I hope that they get to the bottom of this soon. I can't wait to see Molly tell Dumbledore off; it should be a harrowing experience for him. :D

Author's Response: Thanks! You certainly are getting Dumbledore's character. I'm sure Severus will get to the bottom of it soon. He's becoming awfully protective of Harry, which is a good thing for Harry right now. He doesn't need to be worrying about the war right now, though no matter how hard Severus tries, the war will soon affect them...
