Reviews For Alea Iacta Est
Author's Response: Thanks! Harry's opening up a little, but there's still much for them to cover before their relationship becomes stable.
Author's Response: I'm glad to hear you loved the chapter. The next talk will definitely be interesting and I'm not sure if it'll make the next chapter or not, but we will see what Sev brings Harry back. Thanks!
I guess I can forgive you, if you put it that way. *sigh* But never again! And you have to promise! :P Keep those updates coming! Some suggestions Author's Response: Ah, a Lite-Brite. I remember those from when I was a little kid. I think it might be a little young for Harry and those little pegs with his hands might be more frustrating than it's worth. Board games and puzzles are a good guess, and you'll have to wait and see what Sev picks out. I can't promise, but I can try harder. See, I'll be going abroad next month so I can't promise anything when I don't know how much internet time and access I'll have. Thanks!
Author's Response: Thanks! Harry's scared, but Severus is doing his best to make the situation as unscary (I know it's not a word, but it's been a long day lol) as possible. I think that's part of the reason Severus is being careful with who and what Harry sees. He doesn't want Harry to become more scared from something someone else says.
Author's Response: Good guesses again. They're all appropriate for his age and entertaining though I doubt Severus will let Harry anywhere near a knife for woodcarving even if it were charmed against human skin just in case it somehow didn't work and Harry cut himself.
As for entertainment...it is difficult to entertain someone in magical castle where electricity doesn't function and furthermore when someone can't do physical activities... So, what about some rebus (brain-teaser?)? There are a lot of them, they are amusing and you can play with it a long time =) P.S.: Sorry for mistakes, English is not my native language. Author's Response: You're on the right track with the brain teaser idea, but you'll have to wait and see what Sev finds. ;) Don't worry, you shouldn't have to wait too long. The next chapter is almost finished. Yeah, no electricity is definitely an annoyance. I'm sure Harry would love a TV with a bunch of VHSs/DVDs to help distract him. Thanks, and don't worry about your English. It was very good.
Of course I was disappointed in Ron and his reaction to seeing Harry, but at the same time I can't help but feel that perhaps it wasn't entirely his fault. Molly and Severus talked to him beforehand, but neither of them mentioned how poorly Harry looks. At his age Ron should have had better sense on his own, but I do think Molly and Severus could have done a better job of preparing him and warning him not to upset Harry. I'm so excited for the next chapter and hope that the new treatment schedule will be a little easier on Harry. Great job! Author's Response: They're getting along okay for the moment, but they have a long way to go. His subconscious, the part of him that's seeking comfort won for the night, but Harry with his feelings of knowing how Severus treated him for the past 5 years is still there and he hasn't gotten over that entirely yet. You're right that they forgot to mention to Ron how sickly Harry looks. For Severus, it probably didn't cross his mind since he's been there the whole time and when you see the transformation you don't really notice it, kinda like when a friend loses weight and you see them a few months later and it's like wow. Ron was shocked and scared, but hopefully next time it'll go better. Thanks!
And I love that this chapter is just a picture of normal day during 'abnormal condition. Can't wait for the next one! (I know I'm greedy) Author's Response: Thanks! Harry's starting to understand, but he's not there yet. I think he's just testing the waters and for the moment he's okay with it. The enforcement of manners will give Harry a bit of normalcy, and I'm happy to hear you liked that part. The next chapter should be up by the end of the weekend.
Author's Response: Yes, leukemia is a cancer of the bone marrow and white blood cells, but it can also be in the cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the spinal cord and brain. Chemo isn't always used just before a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Chemo kills the cancer cells so that hopefully good cells are the only ones that come back. There are different kinds of chemo reigimens and Harry's in the induction phase of his. I actually took his first week treatment schedule off a blogger suffering from leukemia who did have chemo transfused into his body 24/7 for a week. After this first week Harry will have finished his first cycle, and then will have 2 weeks off chemo. |
