Reviews For Much Ado About Magic
Great beginning. You keep Snape and Harry in character very well. I'm looking forward to see where you're going with the story. Author's Response: Hi Pandora! Thanks for leaving a review ;) For sure at the moment, there is a lot of tension between Snape and Harry, but I hope as the story goes along, the characters will begin to grow and learn to understand each other more. I think at the end of the Chapter, Snape tried to control himself and diffuse the situation with calm and "understanding" in the best way he could, rather than just haul off and yell at Harry. Baby steps :) I am really glad you think the charcters are "in character"- I'm trying really hard to capture them correctly, so it is a great compliment!!!
Author's Response: Hi hawkswench, thanks for the question ;) Well, Harry isn't using his wand, but he isn't trying very hard to control his wandless magic either. I haven't gone into great detail about what has happened, but will try to fill in the blanks as we go along. The Ministry is concerned that whether intentional or not, the wandless magic is a concern for them. Dumbledore explained to the Ministry that Harry doesn't have a lot of control over his magic at this point, which is one reason they decided not to make a terrible fuss about things and released him into the care of Dumbledore/Snape for the time being. The Ministry's concern was leaving him with Muggles where the unintentional magic would continue to happen and be a risk for the magical world and any Muggles that might get hurt.
So, basically, although Snape enjoys scaring Harry with threats about what the Ministry will do to him, the Ministry is not out to be horrible to Harry. They just want to see the wandless magic put to an end before it gets serious. |
