Reviews For Outcast's Alley
I have been reading the reviews for this chapter and I must say I disagree with the majority. I am a bit frustrated with Harry more so than Remus and Hermione. I understand why Remus hides. Remus has been like this his entire life. He knows just how difficult it is to keep friendships and jobs. I know that Harry believes that Remus is especially a coward for hiding his...furry problem...from his friends, but I understand. It's hard to be open completely when you are not used to having friends. Once you gain a friend, you do not want to lose them, so you try at all cost to keep them. And even though Remus is no longer a child/teen, those feelings never go away. That insecurity sticks. I really can't blame Remus for just wanting to be 'normal'. If I suddenly turnedd into People, I would hide it. There is a chance I would tell my best friend (Like Remus has told Dumbledore of his true characteristics--such as growling), but I would tell no one else. She is the only person I would trust with that secret IF I chose to tell her. There's a huge chance I would tell no one. I have went my entire life ridiculed and teased, I am unlikely to trust many people, especially if I had a secret such as Remus' or Harry's. I think Harry should not be so hard on Remus, Remus has been going through this for years...he has learned to just 'play the game' so to speak. And while that isn't very Gryffindorish, it certainly is worthy of a Slytherin and I can appreciate that. Now, Hermione... I don't see a single fault in her feelings. I mean honestly...Hermione is a muggleborn and is doing the best she can. She is being civil, just simply not trusting. And I saw another reviewer stated that if the person was a human, Hermione wouldn't be as distrustful...and I beg to differ. Hermione knew Remus was a were and trusted him. And it was not just because Remus looked human. It is because Remus presented himself in a very friendly fashion. He spoke to the students nicely and was a great teacher. Hermione felt that even though he chose not to display his secrets before the school, he was still a good person. Harry on the other hand has been hiding in his room and only coming down for meals. I can see why she would be suspicious. I understand why Harry only comes downs for meals, he has a lot going on right now. His life has been completely turned upside down, and he's dealing with it as best as a 15 year old could...much better, actually. But, I understand why Hermione would be curious. Harry *does* look dark and he *does* seem like a dark mysterious stranger. Anyone would be curious or nervous. Hermione is also very intelligent. She realises there are some lies going on around her and from experience (at least from the books) lies don't always equal a good time. She is completely right to not trust Tobias...people earn trust and Tobias has yet to show how trustworthy he is. I don't understand how so many people can be angry at Hermione. And honestly, Dumbledore has trusted plenty of people before that have turned out a might bit less than trustworthy, it's good that someone hasn't lost their head! This is a great story! I am soooo very happy that I decided to read this again--and finish it. I've always been interested in the Fae. Always. And so I have been reading a lot about them and then I remembered this story and immediately pulled it up to read. I do hope you finish the second one soon! I will be starting that one as soon as I am done with this one! You are a great writer!
Author's Response: So glad you like! Thanks for the review! I'm not telling tho. :0)
Author's Response: Sorry, major writers block + exams + working on two stories at once => slow update speed. Exams are over, I HOPE I'm done with the writer's block, and LADTH is almost finished, so hopefully things'll speed up soon. Thanks for the review!! :0)
Author's Response: LOL yeah, he kinda is. That always bothered me in canon, that Remus was so secretive about what he was, rather than fighting for his rights. I mean, that's totally realistic, but it was sad, and Remus was supposed to be a Gryffindor.
I'm mad at Hermione but I think I'm mad in the way I get mad when someone insults someone I love (I lurv my Harry) which is like a whole lot madder and less rational than I get when someone insults me. Which means I want to smash her face in. Harry is just adorably sweet to have such a mature perspective on the whole thing and it also speaks of how much he cares about her. I hope Hermione feels like a total b*tch when she finds out. On the one hand Tobias' life story is none of her freaking business but on the other hand, they are at war and she's probably smart for not just accepting everything as okay just because everyone else tells her to. I'm also not sure talking to her is a good idea. Sure maybe it will give her some perspective on how much of an effing b*tch she is but she's really smart and I wouldn't put it past her to figure him out. On the whole though, I am very disappointed in her because no matter what she says, I don't think she'd be as suspicious of someone who was human-looking and if he were a human adult she'd probably never even question his presence. Hell, she kept Lupin's secret at first but he was a human-looking, adult Professor, 3 things she trusts. So yeah, I think she totally has a double standard there. Author's Response: YEY lovely long review!!...but please don't drool on me. And crack is bad for you. Just sayin'. LOL yeah, I was kinda mad/sad about Remus and Hermione both, writing this, mostly 'cause I feel bad for Tobias. I mean, I'm madder at Remus than at Hermione, 'cause at least Hermione doesn't KNOW that this is her friend, but still. Anyway, thanks again for the review!! I'm glad you like my fic!!
Oh well...I am rambling now...so please I respectively request for your muse to inspire you into answering my questions as your delightful tale unfolds. Author's Response: LOL thanks for the lovely long review. I'm glad you like my fic so much, and have so many questions. Hopefully everything'll get sorted out as the story goes along. See ya!
I'm on exam too, but the fact is that I red all the chapters in an couple of hours instead of working..! I'm addicted to this fic now! er...It's the first time I've red a creature fic, but I'm convinced !I pretty like the social and political dimension of the story, and I think Rowling doesn't insit enough on this point. And I realised with surprise that transfiguration isn't so incredible as I could think before reading this creature fic. Well; I'm looking forward Snape/harry interactions, but I'm very happy because you take care of your plot, it's setting slowly, but it's very well done, and I very like it. I'm wondering how Harry will deal with Mo at Hogwarts...! Because I wouldn't like Snape and harry interractions not "private" with the baby in ! Or maybe Molly will take care of her? thanks for this very good fic ! Akusen Author's Response: Hey, thanks for reviewing!! I understand you just fine, so don't worry. If you want, though, you can review in French - I read it almost as well as English. Anyway, I'm really glad you like my story!! Thanks again!
Author's Response: :0) Yey!! Glad you like!! Thanks for the review!!
@@@:0) marge simpson bunny for you, my favourite so far :) Author's Response: LOL I'm glad you liked the chapter, and my bunnies. Personally I liked bunny-getting-eaten-by-crocodile, but I'm morbid that way. :0) Thanks for the review!! |
