Reviews For You Can't Always Get What You Want
Author's Response: I never imagined that Bella was particularly attached to anyone other than Voldemort. She is the archetype of mindless sycophant. Snape does always end up in the middle. He can't help it, he has the same saving people thing that Harry does, only on a larger, much more self-destructive scale. Thanks for your continued interest in this story. I hope to update by Friday. T
Author's Response: Thanks! T
I'm so sorry...I could have sworn I had reviewed this chapter, but apparently I didn't. Anyway, I really loved it, despite the gory battle scene. You write such tense, detailed scenes and the emotions are so real. I can feel the characters' desperation, fear, and melancholy at various times. I especially the insight into Severus' thoughts and how difficult this time truly is for him. Dumbledore certainly did him no favors, leaving him in such a mess. And he has done more than enough for the Malfoy family, yet as Narcissa said, he is the only one they can go to for help. I hope that it will pay off, in a good way, for them all before the end. Great chapter! Author's Response: No worries about the timing of the review. I'm just glad you liked the chapter. Snape has never been in a good position. He's always been the outcast, and the used person. Things will be getting hairy for them all soon. I hope you like what's coming. The battle scene was really needed to introduce the rebels. We'll be seeing more of them soon. I never bought that the wizarding world just caved to Voldemort without a hitch. There had to be more of a reistance than that lame radio show. Poor Narcissa. I felt for her from HBP on. She is just trying to keep her family alive. That showed when she lied to Voldemort. You know she didn't do that without alrady having this conversation with Lucius. They may have acted too slowly, but the did finally act in cannon. Thanks for the review. T
Author's Response: Thanks. I hope you keep reading. T
Thank you for sharing it! Look forward for next chapters. Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you're enjoying.; T
I can't blame Severus for his reaction to Narcissa's proposition; she ought to have known better. In the end, I think that he would have helped them anyways, but I can understand his hesitation. He has already bent over backwards for their family far to much already. I hope that Poppy will be able to help Lucius and that his family will be able to escape this folly that they are caught up in. You know what they say about hindsight being ever perfect? Well, Lucius now knows that he should never have put his lot in with a madman. Personally, I'm glad that Harry was able to convince Hermione to not obliviate him. Her canon relationship with Ron never made sense to me and neither did Harry's with Ginny. Talk about mismatched couples! Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review. I'm glad you understood Snape's reaction to Narcissa. It's unfortunate that she felt that bribing him with sex would get her the answer she wanted, but given the situation she finds herself in, it is understandable. Narcissa will have to deal with the consequences of her actions later. I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for the Malfoys. They are vile bigots who won't hesitate to do horrible things to get what they want, but they love each other. I find that fascinating somehow, that dichotomy. I'm glad you're happy about the Harry/Hermione situation. I really want to explore what that might mean later in their lives. Thanks again, T |
