Reviews For You Can't Always Get What You Want
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words. I will be posting again this week. RL got in the way of me writing, and everything is getting back on track. T
I'm glad that Draco has had a change of heart, and how he saved Luna (and Gregory Goyle). I love how he is now actively, though secretly, working against the Carrows and helping their victims. I hope he will continue down the path of redemption. This is a truly wonderful story, Tambra, with so much depth, and tension. I'm very eager for the next chapter! Author's Response: I always thought it was horrifying, what Harry did to Snape in OotP. I can imagine Snape felt quite violated, of course we know why now, but really, it was almost as if Harry did a mental rape of Snape. It didn't help that Dumbledore encouraged Harry to peek and prod into things he had no business being in, but still... I'm glad the transition to understanding between these two wasn't too abrupt. They still have some issues, and probably always will, but at least they are able to talk about their problems rather than increase their hostility. Thanks for the kind words. I am planning on having a new chapter out next week. T
Talk about a dose of reality. Great job Tambra. I'm so exhausted from work, please forgive me not giving a more detailed review. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: Thanks, and don't worry about the length of the review. I understand completely being exhausted from work. I just don't buy that Slytherins didn't take part in the resistance against Voldemort. It never rang true to me. Draco and Lucius' change of heart aren't the only ones, but they are the most important. T
I love how Lucius and Narcissa are re-thinking their loyalties too, and hope that they can be redeemed too, and of course Draco. And though I like the canon pairings well enough, I do think you're doing a fantastic job showing developing relationships between Harry/Hermione and Ron/Hannah, and they are suited for one another in your world. Looking forward to the next chapter! Author's Response: I didn't receive a notice for this so you either just posted it, and Im psychic, or my computer is mess up. I will go with A. I'm glad you enjoyed the chatper. It's reviews like yours that make me want to write. I've been going through some horrendous writer's block, and now I feel inspired again. I am actually a Harry/Ginny shipper. I have been since she had a crush on him in the first book. Ron and Hermione I can play around with, but Harry and Ginny will always be my first choice. That being said, the non-cannon HGHP ship was requested, and I am finding it fun to write. Their relationship will go much slower than Ron's and Hannah's simply because they are cut off from the rest of the world. I couldn't imagine how difficult Snape's life was in the last year. It broke my heart that he died thinking he would go to his grave unloved and unappreciated. I had to give him at least Poppy. She's the most logcal choice because she can help heal him after his meetings. I have a serious crush on Jason Isaacs therefore, I can't leave LUcius as an unredeemed jerk. Narcissa, I can live with out. but that's only because she's not played by Jason Isaacs. LOL. I also hated that Draco was left unredeemed in cannon. I hated that the years of discord between him and Harry was just left by the way side. There was no resolution there, and I can't imagine Harry , as stubborn as he is, would let Draco be after the war. Thanks for the review. I'm going to finish my bowl of strawberries and get right to work on the rest of the new chapter.

Author's Response: There will be more interaction between Poppy and Severus, but the story has to unfold along the other fronts too. Thanks for your review. T
Great chapter! Author's Response: thanks for the review. I've always thought that Poppy and Snape have a special relationship, and I really wanted to give him an ally at the school who knows what's actually going on. Lucius is a special case. I think even in cannon that he realised how wrong he had been about the whole Voldemort thing. I don't know that he ever changed his views on Muggleborns, but I do believe he found that he had gone about the business of protecting his interests in the wrong way. You'll have to see about Ron and Hermione and of course, Ginny and Harry. T
And the part with Lucius and Dumbledore was fantastic. Dumbledore always seems to know everything, even as a portrait. I can't wait to see where you go with the Lucius plotline...he could be a powerful ally in the war. Looking forward to more! Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the chapter. We will see more of Lucius' thoughts and how Dumbles will attempt to interverne. I hated all that tramping about in the forest being hungry in cannon. It made no sense to me. I"m glad this change in the timeline ahs been well received. Thanks again for the review.. Ireally appreciate it. T
I'm so sorry...I could have sworn I had reviewed this chapter, but apparently I didn't. Anyway, I really loved it, despite the gory battle scene. You write such tense, detailed scenes and the emotions are so real. I can feel the characters' desperation, fear, and melancholy at various times. I especially the insight into Severus' thoughts and how difficult this time truly is for him. Dumbledore certainly did him no favors, leaving him in such a mess. And he has done more than enough for the Malfoy family, yet as Narcissa said, he is the only one they can go to for help. I hope that it will pay off, in a good way, for them all before the end. Great chapter! Author's Response: No worries about the timing of the review. I'm just glad you liked the chapter. Snape has never been in a good position. He's always been the outcast, and the used person. Things will be getting hairy for them all soon. I hope you like what's coming. The battle scene was really needed to introduce the rebels. We'll be seeing more of them soon. I never bought that the wizarding world just caved to Voldemort without a hitch. There had to be more of a reistance than that lame radio show. Poor Narcissa. I felt for her from HBP on. She is just trying to keep her family alive. That showed when she lied to Voldemort. You know she didn't do that without alrady having this conversation with Lucius. They may have acted too slowly, but the did finally act in cannon. Thanks for the review. T
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. No, they aren't trying to kill each other at the moment, but there are still a whole bunch of chapters to come. LOL. T
