Reviews For The Definition of Home
Snape spanking Harry as a gut reaction to his anger mixed with worry, is very much in character, but yet consistent with Snape's new attitude towards Harry too. I bet he regrets hitting Harry, and wishes he hadn't, but I think that Harry doesn't hold it against Snape, because he knows that it was more out of worry for his safety. I loved this chapter, and I've got tears in my eyes. You so much captured the emotion and the heart-wrenching grief and yearning for someone just to care and love him. Too sweet, and sad. Snape is really evolving, isn't he? I'm dying to see more of "Snape the dad". Very sweet. You still keep his sternness though, while showing him allowing his growing affection towards Harry to seep through just a tiny bit. Well done. You've not had Snape go all mushy, which I hate, but had him show a side to Harry, that few see. Perfect balance. I hope that when this is all over, maybe Harry can finally have that father-figure in his life, that has always been so close, and always snatched away from the poor boy.
Great chapter!
Harry certainly deserved those few swats and I think he starts realizing, that Snape cares about him. I love the interaction between Harry and Snape and I just love this story!
Thank you for such a marvelous chapter. Please update soon!
Before I dive in, I just want to say that I LOVE the chapter title. I don't know where it came from, but it made me say "Awwww" even before I opened the chapter. Maybe I'm just a sap. ;-) I loved the new definition of home that Snape gave Harry at the end there. I think my heart broke when Harry had his realization that he couldn't remember Sirius' voice. That is one of the most awful feelings and my heart hurt for him right then. I'm so glad Snape was there to take care of him. I just love how he seems to understand Harry, without him actually having to say much at all. Snape gets him and I like that. Your Snape is, I think, my favorite fanfiction Snape I've ever read. That and AYLNO Snape. Yours is just so unique and different, I could go on and on about him so I'd better stop here. ;-) The way Snape was sitting down and holding Harry in front of him while he lectured him was an excellent visual. I dunno why, but I really thought that was very clever. I could just feel Harry's shame as he stood there. And this is just a little thing, but I truly loved the way Snape subtly helped Harry to get ready for bed. The simple things, like warming his bed, cleaning his face, taking his glasses, and dimming the light. And when he moved Harry's shoes and hung up the jacket, I was just thinking, "Ah, that's very nice." It was just a very family-ish, homey kind of scene and while small, it added a nice touch, I thought. I liked it a lot. Anyhow, I have rambled on quite enough and yet I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out I had originally intended to say, but oh well. Just know I am truly enjoying this story. I look forward to your updates very much. Thanks for sharing! :D
Even through the idea is idiotic beyond words, I guess I have to remember that Harry is a typical horny teenage boy, even if he's the Boy Who Lived. I'm curious as to how Snape will punish him. Hopefully he'll get creative... Anyways, I really enjoyed this chapter, especially their conversation at the cafe and Snape's hint about Lily. I also like that you slipped in a variant definition of home. Very clever.
Great chapter, but Harry is in big trouble. Snape'll be not to pleased with him and I'm afraid Harry'll be not to pleased either , after their 'talk'! LOL! Please update soon, nearly can't wait for more (as always!) Thank you very much for this brilliant story. |
