I really enjoyed this chapter - the image of Harry pretending to be Indiana Jones while cleaning the office was awesome! Also loved the comparison between the Dursleys and the Malfoys.
Not sure I entirely understand what was meant by the line, "For all you've done for your friends at school - go look in a bloody mirror, Potter." though. Maybe I'm just sleep deprived.

I'm really liking this so far! I particularly enjoyed all the dialog - brilliantly done. And Snape was just evil to poor hungover-Harry. Bet he'll think twice before drinking again, eh? ^^
"The End", huh? Well, it was a wonderful story: well-written, with the characterizations the way we wish Jo Rowling had written them. I do hope there's a sequel in the works for this one, as it's a relationship well worth exploring in continuing depth. Extremely well done! Thank you for all your hard work. Excellent chapter. I loved the way Harry and Snape managed to cobble together a father-son 'relationship' that actually started to feel real to them both. I liked the way you had Harry wonder who'd had the worst childhood: himself, Snape, or Tom Riddle. I appreciated the believable way Amy finally brought out her notebook and told the truth which had happened to her all those years ago. But my favorite, which choked me up, was sleepy Harry whispering, " 'My dad's a death eater,'... his head resting in the crook of Snape's neck. 'He keeps me safe from the boogey man.' " Powerful stuff. Thank you.
Very nice chapter. Snape was much cooler about the tattoo than I would have figured him to be. But one statement doesn't quite register properly with me. I didn't understand what Snape meant when he said, " 'For all you've done for your friends at school - go look in a bloody mirror, Potter,' Snape gruffed, eating the rest of his meal in silence." I mean, Harry has just said (I'm paraphrasing), 'Everybody just tells me I've got her eyes'. Then Snape tells him the same thing. But what did he mean by "For all you've done for your friends"?

Author's Response: Standing up for his friends and trying to help them. Like trying to help Hermione after she'd been petrified, and Ron after he'd been dog-napped to the Shrieking Shack. Lily Evans stood up for her friends and other students too. :) Thanks for the note!
Oh, geez. I guess the thought that a tattoo COULD be an identifying feature even bigger than his scar, and possibly even harder to hide (depending on circumstances), never crossed Harry's mind! Stupid Gryffindor! We just know Snape is NOT going to be happy. And jumping back just a little bit, my very favorite laugh in this chapter is Snape's "...Stockport for the Directionally Challenged"! Thanks for all your work!
what a wonderful story! i love the "banter" between Harry and Snape. its not too "out of character" Canon wise. I can really See Snape Acting as he does in this story, while aways from school and the Death eaters. it's nice too see Sev. "letting his hair down" as the saying goes, and not having to "act" all the time.
