Reviews For All the Difference
Author's Response: Hee! I'm sitting here trying to wrap my tongue around "rowlingians"!!! Think I FINALLY managed to pronounce it! I do know what you mean, although I normally go strictly by what is revealed in canon, rather than what JKR may have said in an interview at some point. I hear she has a website, too, but I've never been on it. So glad you enjoyed the story-- I spent the better part of 2 years mentally trying to craft my idea into something both coherent and readable. / :-P / Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for saying so! I kept going through HBP with a fine-toothed comb, trying to piece together all the info from all of the Snape scenes, trying to figure out WHAT THE HECK JKR was trying to show us without actually telling us! This is my take on what I think she really had going on in the bathroom scene, although we're misdirected to believe that the second round of Legilmency concerned more about the Prince's book. I know a lot of people refuse to read one-shots for some reason-- they don't even think a one-shot qualifies as a "story" (although, back in the day, they were referred to as "short stories"!). So I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to not only read but also to leave a review! :-D
Well writ! ^^ Author's Response: Thank you very much! I put so much into creating this story, I'm thrilled to get a review like yours, which lets me know that all the effort was worthwhile. Glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for taking the time to tell me so! ;-D
Author's Response: *snickers!* You might actually want to scan through the entire HBP volume & read ALL of the Snape scenes so you can see all of the "clues" JKR scattered throughout the story. This is just my interpretation of her work!
Author's Response: *blushes* Thank you so much for the great review! I worked so hard on getting the story "just right", so your feedback makes me feel that it was all worthwhile! Glad you enjoyed it so much!!! :-D
Author's Response: The old saying goes, "Always leave your audience wanting more!" One day, I hope to write more about Snape's portrait speaking with Harry, but it would probably be in a different story altogether, rather than a direct sequel to this one. Thanks so much for reading-- glad you enjoyed it!-- and for leaving a review! :-)
Are you planning on a sequel? It'd be fascinating to see their interaction when Harry returns to Hogwarts. I'm sure he has loads of questions to ask Severus. Anyway, brilliant fic!! x Author's Response: Wheee! Thank you so much! As for why people didn't see the significance before-- I think JKR is a master of misdirection, like literary sleight of hand. We all saw what she HOPED we'd see, so we wouldn't focus on her other hand! It's THERE-- if we look away from the OBVIOUS! /// As for my being a "genius"-- well, my OTHER brilliant idea from HBP was that in DH we'd find out Lupin was an unmarked Death Eater! (Glad I was wrong on that score!!) /// No specific sequel planned at this time, but I WON'T say "never"! So glad you enjoyed it, and THANKS for taking the time to tell me so!
Author's Response: Hee hee! With so many people saying WOW, I must be doing something right! I can remember the moment the idea hit me several years ago-- and I said WOW! I didn't see it coming, then BLAM! The freight train of realization slammed into me. Working it into story form was a challenge, but the reviews have made it so worthwhile. Glad you liked it, and thanks a million for letting me know!
That was just... wow. I loved it. Seeing things from Severus's perspective is always interesting, but you did an incredible job of telling this story. I loved seeing Harry go through the memory and see "the other person's point of view". I really loved the discussion between Dumbledore and Severus. I never really thought about Draco despising Severus so much that he would try (no matter how indirectly) to kill the man. And then seeing that Harry actually saved Severus's life by cursing Draco. I'm still going on about that in my head. I can't believe that I didn't see that before. Stupendous story! And I would love to see some of the conversations between Severus and Harry. ;-} Leilia Author's Response: Thank you so much for your many compliments! I had a terrific time writing this after pulling the ideas all together! At first reading, I'd just taken HBP at face value-- but then I began to DIG... ! Yes, the conversation(s) between Snape & Harry would be fascinating. Since I wrote this as a stand-alone, I don't have a specific sequel planned, but it's definitely something to keep on the back burner! Thanks again for a fab review!!! ;-D
It made me laugh when Severus and Draco were having their battle of minds and Severus suddenly brought out his wand. I loved the ending too with Dumbledore and Snape communicating in their portraits. Very well written, fast moving and a well thought out plot. Fab work! Author's Response: I was hoping to convey (if you stop to think about it) that with Bella as Draco's Occlumency teacher, he's made better progress with that talent than Harry ever did with Snape due to the threat of Bella's punishment every time he fails. "Crucio" would be a great motivator; even Snape is impressed with Draco's skill level. And YES! I LOVE the idea that Dumbledore and Snape can "carry on" right over McGonagall's head! Anything is possible in the HP universe! Thank you for reading and especially for reviewing. I love to hear the specific aspects that my readers enjoyed! |
