Reviews For Marks of Days Gone By
Author's Response: Some people's best is only an A. Of course, Snape's bias has something to do with his low marks.
Author's Response: It is a great feeling, I love the feeling of knowing the answers. I hope he realises he needs more than Potions. After all, it would be horrible to only get a NEWT is Potions. I'm glad you're enjoying the story, thanks for reviewing!
The one thing that stood out for me in this chapter is the rather abrupt change in Harry's personality. I understand that he'll be somewhat AU since he's all into Potions now, even so far as to quit Quidditch, but it seemed like you didn't go fare enough in depth about his change. Almost like one second he's trying hard to do well in Potions, and the next instant he's gone berserk and quitting the team on a whim. This I find very out of character, at least without the reader's seeing a little more progression towards that point. ForEll Author's Response: You're right. I should have developed his character more and explained his changes more. Thanks for the review.
Author's Response: Thanks, I tried to keep his as in character as possible since the story is really OOC.
Author's Response: According to my brother, that's how teenage boys think. MAybe quitting Quidditch wasn't the best idea, I just needed a way to show how seriously Harry was taking this.
It's very in character, however, for hotheaded Harry to publicly give up after trying his best to no avail. I don't expect he's given up on Potions for good, though. Author's Response: A masochistic addiction, what a godd descreption of his behaviour. But there certainly is something wrong when he gives up Quidditch. :) Harry gives up to easily. Sometimes you have to try again and again.
Doesn't Snape notice at all? Great start NF! Author's Response: Snape might notice, but he's not a nice guy. In OotP Harry gets a D on his first essay. An "A" is a decent mark compared to that. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :) |
