Reviews For Hang a Shining Star
Lovely. Author's Response: Christmas in July during an El Niño summer will do that to you!!! So glad you enjoyed the story, and many thanks for reading and reviewing! 🦋
Author's Response: *grins* Yeah, the mirror was my "original" twist for this story. I figured that the Potters would hardly have a portrait of Snape hanging in their cottage; a mirror would be far more subtle! (And after creating the mirror for this story, I couldn't resist using it once again in a later Halloween story: "In the Shadow of the Dancing Tree" -- Snape tells another story!) I love your adjective "integrated" -- that's exactly what I was striving for in "Star". Harry starts out not knowing what or how he should celebrate, but he ends up with the best of all possible worlds. Many thanks for reading and reviewing! And Merry Christmas in July to you! 🎄
Talk about your (positive!) tear-jerkers! Author's Response: Believe it or not, I was teary-eyed as I typed this story on a public library computer several years ago! And yes, I totally agree-- the worlds are not mutually exclusive!
Author's Response: I'm so pleased that you liked this chapter. It meant a lot to me to help poor Harry resolve his holiday issues, and I truly got a kick out of the mirror aspect. I'd like to believe that Lily and James would be happy with the way things turned out, after all the angst! A magical story--thank YOU!!! *loves warm & fuzzy reviews*
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Christmas in June, no less! I truly loved writing this (brought myself to tears at one point!), and I'm always thrilled to hear that I made a connection with my readers. Thanks again for reading and reviewing! Merry Christmas! 😉 🎄
Author's Response: Thanks for saying so! This was my first attempt at writing a Christmas story, as well as more than one chapter-- glad you enjoyed it! And thank you very much for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading! Hope "Shining Star" got your holiday season off to a great start! Merry Christmas, and many thanks for the review! :-)
Author's Response: Thank you for reading the entire story! (Believe it or not, about 25% of those who read Ch 1 DON'T go on to Ch 2, for whatever reason.) I'm so happy you liked it, even through tears! Thanks for leaving a review, too! :-)
Very nice! Author's Response: Aww... *passes tissues* Thank you so much! So many people have been affected by this story, and I'm so pleased that you took the time to review, even through your tears! Keep smiling!
Author's Response: Aww! You're a wonderful person! You actually finished the story (25% of the people who read Chap 1 never go on to read Chap 2-- no kidding...), and you reviewed both chapters! Thank you ever so much! (I've got to get on the ball and start reading YOUR story!) As for a continuation, I wrote this as a stand-alone, with no sequel planned, but I did try to leave it open ended enough so that I might make further use of the mirror at some point in the future. However, I have a number of other things in progress right now, so please don't hold your breath! I don't need good reviewers turning blue in the face! But if I'm ever at a loss for ideas, I may revisit the mirror! Thanks again! :-D |
