Reviews For Hang a Shining Star
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's always terrific to get reviews coming in long after the first wave when the story has just been posted! I really appreciate your taking the time to review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Christmas on the first day of SPRING!!! ;-)
Im glad Harry got the answers he was looking for and glad that Snape was there to help him. Author's Response: :-) Well, I'm pleased to be able to evoke an emotional response from my readers, but I honestly never expected for so MANY people to tell me that I'd made them cry while reading this story! *passes tissues to wid* Thanks again for the lovely review!
Author's Response: I'll admit I was trying to deal with 1) my personal frustration concerning JKR's treatment of Christmas in the canon and 2) the gross over-commercialization of "Muggle" Christmas that seems to get worse every year! I was hoping to write a story that would get back to basics and remind us of the True meaning of Christmas. I'm glad you liked the story, and many thanks for the review!
I love how you wrote about the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' birth and salvation, and had Severus come to believe. And for Harry to discover a true memory just made it perfect. Author's Response: I kept puzzling over JKR's treatment of Christmas in the books, and I finally couldn't leave it alone! Poor Harry is standing a spiritual crossroads, and I took a chance and had guidance come from a most unlikely source! I kept hoping I could pull it off believably, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive, so I can BREATHE again! :-) Thank you SO much for reviewing! (I sat there, staring at my phone: Kristeh! KRISTEH reviewed! Whoa! --yep, I'm a fan!)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It absolutely thrills me to hear that readers think I get things "right"! Especially characterization-- this is the first time I've tried writing Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, and I had my fingers crossed the whole time. ;-) Many thanks for taking the time to read and review!
And Merry and Blessed Christmas to you! Author's Response: Wow! Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I like to know something about my readers, and when I clicked your bio-- whoa! I was blown away! Just goes to show that HP fans are EVERYONE! ;-D
I've never been able to understand some folks objections to HP. It seems to me to be a treasure trove for morality tales, object lessons, and examples of biblical truthes in modern living. And I have always seen Severus as a type of Saul/ Paul. This was the best Christmas present I've recieved so far. Thanks again. Author's Response: Wow! What a massive compliment! THANK YOU!!! (I'll feel a bit like Snape, waking up every Christmas to be a part of your celebration! ;-D) // I think fanatical people blindly believe what is preached to them by others who also haven't bothered to investigate HP firsthand-- my aunt is one of the fanatics, and I have NOT told her I'm writing fanfiction, since she warned me that I should not be reading the books or watching the films. I believe the objections come from the verse "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." (I don't know where that is located; I don't play scripture ping pong, if you know what I mean!) If JKR had called her characters "magicians", probably nobody would have batted an eye. But witches and wizards-- oh, boy. But I absolutely agree with your assessment of the texts! // Merry Christmas! And thanks again!
Author's Response: You're welcome! Would you believe I actually wrote Chap 1 last December, and I didn't write Chap 2 until this November? I had it all planned in detail, but I didn't finish the story for some reason. I'm really glad you liked it-- now I know my writing was time well spent! Thanks so much for the review! :-)
Author's Response: Thanks!
Author's Response: Thank you so much for letting me know! I always keep second guessing myself about how readers will react to a story, so it really helps to hear from people like you! ;-) |
