Reviews For Hang a Shining Star
Very nice! Author's Response: Aww... *passes tissues* Thank you so much! So many people have been affected by this story, and I'm so pleased that you took the time to review, even through your tears! Keep smiling!
Author's Response: Aww! You're a wonderful person! You actually finished the story (25% of the people who read Chap 1 never go on to read Chap 2-- no kidding...), and you reviewed both chapters! Thank you ever so much! (I've got to get on the ball and start reading YOUR story!) As for a continuation, I wrote this as a stand-alone, with no sequel planned, but I did try to leave it open ended enough so that I might make further use of the mirror at some point in the future. However, I have a number of other things in progress right now, so please don't hold your breath! I don't need good reviewers turning blue in the face! But if I'm ever at a loss for ideas, I may revisit the mirror! Thanks again! :-D
Author's Response: Thank you so much! This was my first attempt at writing Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, and I kept hoping that I could keep them in character while establishing the cottage setting and the storyline. It's always gratifying to get feedback letting me know that readers enjoyed it! Especially since most people just go on to the next chapter without reviewing the first! :-)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It's always terrific to get reviews coming in long after the first wave when the story has just been posted! I really appreciate your taking the time to review, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Christmas on the first day of SPRING!!! ;-)
Im glad Harry got the answers he was looking for and glad that Snape was there to help him. Author's Response: :-) Well, I'm pleased to be able to evoke an emotional response from my readers, but I honestly never expected for so MANY people to tell me that I'd made them cry while reading this story! *passes tissues to wid* Thanks again for the lovely review!
Author's Response: I keep remembering Sirius singing "God Rest Ye Merry Hippogriffs" in OotP, and that really bothered me for some reason, even more than the Weasleys gnoming their Christmas tree. For the past few years, I kept wondering how to approach Christmas in the Wizarding world, and this was my attempt to unravel the puzzle that JKR left us with. Each person's belief (in whatever) is up to that individual, but most people are raised with some sort of influence; since Harry had only the Dursleys to observe, I thought it would be especially important to him to try to learn what his own parents would have wanted him to know/believe. I don't know if you read on to Chap 2, but Harry finds his own answer there! (I know that all my other stories have been one-shots thus far, but feel free to click on NEXT to go on to Chap 2! Hee!) Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: I'll admit I was trying to deal with 1) my personal frustration concerning JKR's treatment of Christmas in the canon and 2) the gross over-commercialization of "Muggle" Christmas that seems to get worse every year! I was hoping to write a story that would get back to basics and remind us of the True meaning of Christmas. I'm glad you liked the story, and many thanks for the review!
I love how you wrote about the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' birth and salvation, and had Severus come to believe. And for Harry to discover a true memory just made it perfect. Author's Response: I kept puzzling over JKR's treatment of Christmas in the books, and I finally couldn't leave it alone! Poor Harry is standing a spiritual crossroads, and I took a chance and had guidance come from a most unlikely source! I kept hoping I could pull it off believably, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive, so I can BREATHE again! :-) Thank you SO much for reviewing! (I sat there, staring at my phone: Kristeh! KRISTEH reviewed! Whoa! --yep, I'm a fan!)
Author's Response: Thank you so much! It absolutely thrills me to hear that readers think I get things "right"! Especially characterization-- this is the first time I've tried writing Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, and I had my fingers crossed the whole time. ;-) Many thanks for taking the time to read and review!
And Merry and Blessed Christmas to you! Author's Response: Wow! Thank you very much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story! I like to know something about my readers, and when I clicked your bio-- whoa! I was blown away! Just goes to show that HP fans are EVERYONE! ;-D |
